Well, I recently decided to start playing KOTOR2 again but I'm having some trouble getting it to work. I've downloaded it and when I hit play, the screen goes black then an error message pops up asking to report the error or not... Whats wrong?

Heres some info that might help you solve the prob: The type of computer is an XP (duh) and I recently had to get it fixed because of some issue I had with it. I got it back and downloaded all my CD's and stuff but this one doesnt seem to work anymore. I downloaded all the patches and things but still nothing. My sound wont work either when I hook it up so this could be why....? ( just a random guess)

Anyways, I would appreciate it if anyone could help me, and I'll post any more info if needed. Thanks for any info :D

What did the error report say? It should tell you what is wrong. Either your computer is lacking something, or, there is an error with the disc. I think the computer lacking something might be the problem, as you said the disc worked fine... you may have to kill have a word with your repairer.

Well, when I look at the error report it doesnt really say anything thats wrong, the system requirements are right I know that.... And if for some reason it wasnt then wouldnt my computer warn me what I was missing?

Was there a code for the error? If you search for the meaning of the code, it could tell you what is wrong.

Yeah but it doesnt actually give information on what it wrong, it does however if a "techinical look" on whats wrong which is consisted of numbers and letters, more for the smart to read  Other then that it just ask if I want to report the error or not to

Sending error reports can be pointless because you don't get feed back. If you can save the report ."swinfo.txt Notepad" (Like I did) You could post it on this forum either in an attachment, or if your a masochist, type it all out. It probably contains system info. >_<

I am sure the Techs in this forum will be able to help. :)

Well, thanks for the help... I'll use that as a last resort >_< But is there any other advice?

I'd suggest getting the sound to work and seeing if the error still remains - if it still errors, well, then you know it's not a sound issue and can go from there.

And Windows/game errors are frequently generic, unhelpful messages that could indicate a lot of possible stuff. Perhaps they "should" be more specific, but they usually aren't.
