Looks like you have an onboard graphics chip. They are no substitutes for real graphics cards in gaming <_< Maybe your machine just dosnt meet the minimum specs.

I know my Laptops Go FX5200 wouldnt play Kotor 2 properly (The image was always broken and you couldnt make out anything) until I updated the drivers which solved the problem.

What actually happened after the 6 seconds into the movie with the ship? did it freeze, did you get graphical glitches? From your specks, it looks to me like you have an intel onboard graphics chip, and these arent the best when it comes to gaming. I think that intel graphics chip just cant handle Kotor 2. Do you have any problems with other games?

I hope someone with more technical knowledge can answer you, since I am going with just the obvious problem.

when it stops it just goes to the desktop like went you close a full screen program with Alt+F4

i can play Half Life 2, Counter Strike Source, Swat4 , Mafia, Gta Vice City,GTA 3, Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Wars Galaxies with no problems
