Apparently, a thief, convicted of possessing and fencing stolen property, was given two additional months of prison time for having the nazi oath on his answering machine. What do you think?

Um...I don't think that's right.

Believe what you want, just keep it to yourself...or within a circle of individuals you hand around with.

Focus on the crimes committed, not on this garbage.

I think one has to be an idiot to have that stuff on their answering machine in a country where it's against the law. Being that stupid certainly justifies the court's decision to extend his sentence.

It's against the law?

In that case, I would like to formally withdraw my prior complaint.

Against the law, just like it says at the end of the article. I believe there is suc h a law in Germany.

Its like that Austrlian guy who was (will have been?) sentenced to death in Singapore for smuggling drugs. There was a big hoo hah in Australia, but the bottom line is that he broke the law of Singapore.

No, it's the law of the land. I wonder if it should be. I mean, is a similar communist pledge illegal? Is it illegal to have a Christian, Muslim, or Jewish message? Is it illegal to call on Horus, Zeus, or Vishnu? Is it illegal to have an atheist or anti-theist message?

I actually don't have any problem with the sentence. Like most folks, there's a special place in heart for the accursed nazis. I just wondered how our hatred of nazism squared with our love of free speech.

On the other hand, I agree with numbers, the man's stupidity warrants his sentence.

given that it is law, extra sentencing is justified from a legal standpoint. however, having the law in the first place smacks of tyranny. the whole point of freedom is that you, and everyone else, have the right to express any opinion as long as it does not actively promote otherwise criminal activity, no matter how despicable it may be.

These laws sound very logical. They are against the whole 'freedom of speech' thing, but if nazism wasn't as illegal, then a select few might just continue the nazi's practices.

To mods: I think I need that account moderation removed now, it's been weeks and it really is getting irritating.

EDIT: Some typo's...

Stupidity must be punished. At all times

And Nazism is an exception to freedom of press/speech. A political doctrine and philosofy directly(as opposed to comunism, marx didnt kill people, stalin did) responsible for dozens of milions of dead and unimaginable suffering should not be allowed to exist in any form.

DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner. If there is no clear indication, asume the post is written in jest. This notification is meant very seriously and its purpouse is to avoid misunderstandings and the consequences thereof. Furthermore; I can not be held accountable for anything I write on these forums since the idea of taking serious responsability for my unserious actions, is an oxymoron in itself.

Important: as the following sentence contains many naughty words I warn you not to read it under any circumstances; botty, knickers, wee, erogenous zone, psychiatrist, clitoris, stockings, bosom, poetry reading, dentist, fellatio and the department of agriculture.

On the other hand, nobody prevents him from entering politics and including in his program the suppression of said law. If sufficient people considered it a matter of the utmost importance, he would win the elections and said law would be no more.

A tyranny indeed, but it's the tyranny of the majority.

Bolshevism isn't exactly the same thing as communism. While you can't draw a comparison between Hitler's nationalsocialism and Marx's communism, you certainly can between bolshevism and nazism.

And nazis are dumb****s just for being nazis, anti-nazi laws or not.

Says you.

And basic human decency."

If you're even a Neo-nazi to begin with, there's something wrong with you. The guy deserved what he got. Coincidentally, we're learning about dictators and totalitarian governments in European History. In many ways, Communism is tyranny of the left while Nazism is tyranny of the right. In retrospect, it would have been nice if Hitler and Stalin both destroyed each other in WWII.

That is fine point of view if you are an American but different countries have different points of view of what is right and what is wrong.

that doesn't validate the position... lots of things are approved of in other countries that are fundamentally wrong (particularly where women's rights are concerned).

keep in mind, there is nothing wrong with naziism per se, but the implementation thereof is what is bad. speak it, believe it, pray for it, whatever, but use it (or any other socio-politico-economic system) to oppress anybody's fundamental rights and then there is a problem.
