Feeder--Tender

Quite an emotional song :'(

Ache

Can't watch you break

And shatter

Saved

New lives to make

Us better

I'm letting you know

Cleansing my soul

Been letting you know

For days

Turn over everything

Time can heal us again

I'm tender in your arms

Reaching inside of me

Bringing the love I need

The loneliness has gone

Faith

New roads to take

Together

Days

Lying awake

Remember

I'm letting you know

Cleansing my soul

Been letting you know

For days

Turn over everything

Time can heal us again

I'm tender in your arms

Reaching inside of me

Bringing the love I need

The loneliness has gone

I'm letting you know

Cleansing my soul

Been letting you know

For days

Turn over everything

Time can heal us again

I'm tender in your arms

Reaching inside of me

Bringing the love I need

The loneliness has gone

The loneliness has gone

This is undoubtedly one of the saddest songs ever made. :'( :)

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?

Caught in a landslide, No escape from reality

Open your eyes, Look up to the skies and see,

I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy

Because I'm easy come, easy go, Little high, little low

Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama, just killed a man, Put a gun against his head

Pulled my trigger, now he's dead

Mama, life had just begun

But now I've gone and thrown it all away

Mama, ooh, Didn't mean to make you cry

If I'm not back again this time tomorrow

carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come

Sends shivers down my spine, body's aching all the time

Goodbye, ev'rybody, I've got to go

Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth

Mama, ooh, I don't want to die

I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

I see a little silhouetto of a man

Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango

Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very fright'ning me

(Galileo.) Galileo. (Galileo.) Galileo, Galileo figaro

Magnifico. I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me

He's just a poor boy from a poor family

Spare him his life from this monstrosity

Easy come, easy go, will you let me go

Bismillah! No, we will not let you go

(Let him go!) Bismillah! We will not let you go

(Let him go!) Bismillah! We will not let you go

(Let me go.) Will not let you go

(Let me go.) Will not let you go. (Let me go.) Ah

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

(Oh mama mia, mama mia.) Mama mia, let me go

Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me, for me

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye

So you think you can love me and leave me to die

Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby

Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here

Nothing really matters, Anyone can see

Nothing really matters

Nothing really matters to me

Any way the wind blows

Masters of War by Bob Dylan

Come you masters of war

You that build all the guns

You that build the death planes

You that build the big bombs

You that hide behind walls

You that hide behind desks

I just want you to know

I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'

But build to destroy

You play with my world

Like it's your little toy

You put a gun in my hand

And you hide from my eyes

And you turn and run farther

When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old

You lie and deceive

A world war can be won

You want me to believe

But I see through your eyes

And I see through your brain

Like I see through the water

That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers

For the others to fire

Then you set back and watch

When the death count gets higher

You hide in your mansion

As young people's blood

Flows out of their bodies

And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear

That can ever be hurled

Fear to bring children

Into the world

For threatening my baby

Unborn and unnamed

You ain't worth the blood

That runs in your veins

How much do I know

To talk out of turn

You might say that I'm young

You might say I'm unlearned

But there's one thing I know

Though I'm younger than you

Even Jesus would never

Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question

Is your money that good

Will it buy you forgiveness

Do you think that it could

I think you will find

When your death takes its toll

All the money you made

Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die

And your death'll come soon

I will follow your casket

In the pale afternoon

And I'll watch while you're lowered

Down to your deathbed

And I'll stand o'er your grave

'Til I'm sure that you're dead

Girl from the north country by Bob Dylan

Well, if you're travelin' in the north country fair,

Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline,

Remember me to one who lives there.

She once was a true love of mine.

Well, if you go when the snowflakes storm,

When the rivers freeze and summer ends,

Please see if she's wearing a coat so warm,

To keep her from the howlin' winds.

Please see for me if her hair hangs long,

If it rolls and flows all down her breast.

Please see for me if her hair hangs long,

That's the way I remember her best.

I'm a-wonderin' if she remembers me at all.

Many times I've often prayed

In the darkness of my night,

In the brightness of my day.

So if you're travelin' in the north country fair,

Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline,

Remember me to one who lives there.

She once was a true love of mine.

NOFX

The Decline

Where are all these stupid people from

And how did they get to be so dumb

Bred on purple mountain range

Feed amber waves of grains

To lesser human beings, zero feelings

Blame it on human nature, man's destiny

Blame it on the greediocracy

The fear of god, the fear of change, fear of truth

Add the bill of rights

Subtract the wrongs, there's no answers

Memorize and sing

Star spangled songs, when the questions

Aren't ever asked

Is anybody learning from the past

We're living in united stagnation

Father what have i done.

I took that 22. a gift for me from you

To bed with me each night. kept it

Clean polished it well. cherished

Every cartridge every shell

Down by the creek under brush under dirt

There's a carcass of my second kill

Down at the park under stone under pine

There's a carcass of my brother william

Brother where have you gone to i swear

I never thought i could i see so many times

They told me to shoot straight, don't pull

The trigger squeeze, that will insure

A kill, a kill is what you want

To kill is why we breed

The christians love their guns the church and nra

Pray for their salvation

Prey on lower faiths

The story book's been read

And every line believed

The curriculum's been set

Logic is a threat

Reason searched + seized

Jerry spent some

Time in michigan

A 20 year vacation

After all he had a dime

A dime is worth a

Lot more in detroit

A dime in california

Just a 20 dollar fine

Jerry only stayed

A couple months

It's hard to enjoy

Yourself while

Bleeding out the ass

Asphyxiation is

Simple and fast

It beats 17 fun years

Of being someone's bitch

Don't think

Drink your wine

Watch the fire burn

His problems not mine

Just be that model citizen

I wish i had a schilling for every senseless killing

I'd buy a government. america's for sale and

You can get a good deal on it and make a healthy

Profit, or maybe tear it apart you start with

Assumption, that a million people are smarter than 1

Serotonin's gone she gave up drifted away

Sara fled though process gone

She left her answering machine on

The greeting left spoken sincere

Messages no one will ever hear

10,000 messages a day a million more transmissions lay

Dead victims of the laissez faire 10,000 voices

100 guns, 100 decibels turns to one, one bullet

One empty head now with serotonin gone

The man that used to speak

Performs a cute routine.

Feel a little patronized.

Don't feel bad. they found

A way inside your head

And you feel a bit misled.

It's not that they don't

Care. the television's

Put a thought inside your

Head like a barry manilow

Jingle i'd like to teach the

World to sing in perfect

Harmony a symphonic blank

Stare. it doesn't make you care.

Not designed to make you care.

They're betting you wont care.

They'll place a wager on your greed.

A wager on your pride

Why try to beat them when a million others tried

We are the whore.

Intellectually spayed

We are the queer

Dysfunctionally raised

One more pill to kill the pain,

One more pill to kill the pain

One more pill to kill the pain,

Living through conformity

One more prayer should keep me safe.

One more prayer to keep us safe

One more prayer to keep us safe

There's gonna be a better place

Lost the battle lost the war lost the things

Worth living for lost the will to win the fight

One more pill to kill the pain

The going gets tough the tough get debt

Don't pay attention pay the rent our next of kins

Pay for your sins a little faith should keep us safe

Save us

The human existence is failing

Resistance essential. the future

Written off. the odds are astronomically

Against us only

Moron and genius would fight a

Losing battle against the super

Ego when giving in is so damn comforting

And so we go on with our lives we

Know the truth but prefer lies

Lies are simple. simple is bliss. why

Go against tradition when we can

Admit defeat. live in decline. be there

Victim of our own design

With status quo built on suspect.

Why would anyone stick out their

Neck fellow member of club

We've got ours. i'd

Like to introduce

You to our host

He's got his and i've

Got mine. meet

The decline

People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.

Amish Paradise

by Al Yankovic

As I walk through the valley where I harvest my grain

I take a look at my wife and realize she's very plain

But that's just perfect for an Amish like me

You know, I shun fancy things like electricity

At 4:30 in the morning I'm milkin' cows

Jebediah feeds the chickens and Jacob plows... fool

And I've been milkin' and plowin' so long that

Even Ezekiel thinks that my mind is gone

I'm a man of the land, I'm into discipline

Got a Bible in my hand and a beard on my chin

But if I finish all of my chores and you finish thine

Then tonight we're gonna party like it's 1699

We been spending most our lives

Living in an Amish paradise

I've churned butter once or twice

Living in an Amish paradise

It's hard work and sacrifice

Living in an Amish paradise

We sell quilts at discount price

Living in an Amish paradise

A local boy kicked me in the butt last week

I just smiled at him and turned the other cheek

I really don't care, in fact I wish him well

'Cause I'll be laughing my head off when he's burning in hell

But I ain't never punched a tourist even if he deserved it

An Amish with a 'tude? You know that's unheard of

I never wear buttons but I got a cool hat

And my homies all I agree I look good in black... fool

If you come to visit, you'll be bored to tears

We haven't even paid the phone bill in 300 years

But we ain't really quaint, so please don't point and stare

We're just technologically impaired

There's no phone, no lights, no motorcar

Not a single luxury

Like Robinson Caruso

It's as primitave as can be

We been spending most our lives

Living in an Amish paradise

We're just plain and simple guys

Living in an Amish paradise

There's no time for sin and vice

Living in an Amish paradise

We don't fight, we all play nice

Living in an Amish paradise

Hitchin' up the buggy, churnin' lots of butter

Raised a barn on Monday, soon I'll raise another

Think you're really rightous? Think you're pure in heart?

Well, I know I'm a million times as humble as thou art

I'm the pious guy the little Amlettes wanna be like

On my knees day and night scorin' points for the afterlife

So don't be vain and don't be whiny

Or else, my brother, I might just have to get medieval on your heinie

We been spending most our lives

Living in an Amish paradise

We're all crazy Mennonites

Living in an Amish paradise

There's no cops or traffic lights

Living in an Amish paradise

But you'd probably think it bites

Living in an Amish paradise

Yuck

BLOODHOUND GANG LYRICS

"Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo"

Vulcanize the whoopee stick

In the ham wallet

Cattle prod the oyster ditch

With the lap rocket

Batter dip the cranny ax

In the gut locker

Retrofit the pudding hatch

Ooh la la

With the boink swatter

If i get you in the loop when I make a point to be straight with you then

In lieu of the innuendo in the end know my intent though

I brazillian wax poetic so hypathetically

I don't wanna beat around the bush

Foxtrot Unifrom Charlie Kilo

Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo

Marinate the nether rod

In the squish mitten

Power drill the yippee bog

With the dude piston

Pressure wash the quiver bone

In the bitch wrinkle

Cannonball the fiddle cove

Ooh la la

With the pork steeple

If i get you in the loop when I make a point to be straight with you then

In lieu of the innuendo in the end know my intent though

A blast from the past. If I'm necroposting, I suppose I should post some old lyrics.

Rhumboogie

All Harlem's got a brand new rhythm

And it's burning up the dance floors

Because it's so hot.

They took a little rhumba rhythm,

And they added boogie-woogie,

And-a look what they've got:

Rhumboogie.

Rhumboogie-woogie.

It's Harlem's new creation

With a Cuban syncopation -

It's a killer.

Rhumboogie.

Rhumboogie-woogie.

The native rhythm haunts you,

It's barbaric and it taunts you -

It's a killer.

Just plant your both feet on each side,

Let both your hips and shoulders glide,

Then throw your body back and ride.

There's nothing like...

Rhumboogie.

Rhumboogie-woogie.

In Harlem or Havana

You can kiss the old Savanna

It's a killer.

Oh, beat me daddy, eight-to-the-bar.

Rhumboogie.

Rhumboogie-woo-oogie.

It's Harlem's new creation

With a Cuban syncopation -

It's a killer.

Rhumboogie.

Rhu-umboogie-woo-oogie.

The native rhythm haunts you,

It's barbaric and it taunts you -

It's a killer.

Just plant you toes and both feet on the side,

Let both your hips and shoulders glide,

Then throw your body back and ride.

Think a little of

The rhumba

The boogie

The woogie

Then put them

Both all together

You have rhumboogie...

Then all together sing rhumboogie.

Rhumboogie-woogie.

Rhumboogie.

In Harlem or Havana

It'll kiss the old Savanna -

It's a killer.

It's a killer this rhumboogie.

Rhumboogie.

Rhumboogie.

Rhumboogie-woogie-woogie-woogie-woogie.

Do-do-do-do-diddleyada-do-diddleyada-do-do-dee.

There's nothing like rhumboogie!

Hayseed Dixie - Kirby Hill

You wanna get your eyes knocked out,

You wanna get your fill,

You wanna get your head shot off,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

My daddy made corn whisky,

Up on Kirby hill,

Just like his dad before him,

In an old pot, bell and still,

He never took to strangers,

Headin' up that way,

And when he'd here 'em talkin' bout it,

This is what he'd say,

Hey!

You wanna get your eyes knocked out,

You wanna get your fill,

You wanna get your head shot off,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

One night some other brewers,

Thought they'd take the old man down,

And they asked about the way up Kirby Hill all over town,

They headed up the mountain,

Round 'bout half past ten,

Reckon now it's safe to say,

We ain't never seen them again!

You wanna get your eyes knocked out,

You wanna get your fill,

You wanna get your head shot off,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

My great grandaddy used to talk,

bout the war 'tween the governments,

Back when ol' Jeff Davis and Abe Lincoln were the presidents,

He watched the armies marchin' up,

He watched them both march by,

No army never took his hill,

No army dared to try!

You wanna get your eyes knocked out,

You wanna get your fill,

You wanna get your head shot off,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

Lately up on Kirby Hill,

I been planting seeds of my own,

I know they'll fetch a pretty price,

when they're good an' grown,

I seen the helicopters,

sent by the DEA,

If they don't like how I do my buds,

they'll stay the hell away,

You wanna get your eyes knocked out,

You wanna get your fill,

You wanna get your head shot off,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

You wanna get your eyes knocked out,

You wanna get your fill,

You wanna get your head shot off,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

You wanna get your eyes knocked out,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

You wanna get your head shot off,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

You wanna get your head shot off,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

You wanna get your head shot off,

Just climb up Kirby Hill!

This song just makes me feel warm and cosy inside... o:)

Foo Fighters - Still

If you'd like to walk a while

We could waste the day

Follow me into the trees

I will lead the way

Bring some change up to the bridge

Bring some alcohol

There we'll make a final wish

Just before the fall

Promise I will be forever yours

Promise not to say another word

Nevermind whats done is done

Always was a lucky one

Watch the sunrise all alone

Sitting on the tracks

Hear the train come roaring in

Never coming back

Laying quiet in the grass

Everything is still

River stones and broken bones

Scattered on the hill

Promise I will be forever yours

Promise not to say another word

Nevermind whats done is done

Always was a lucky one

Promise I will be forever yours

Promise not to say another word

Here forever deep beneath the dirt

Nevermind whats done is done

Always was a lucky one

God, how I wish Dave Grohl was singing this song to me...

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

Hello?

Is there anybody in there?

Just nod if you can hear me.

Is there anyone at home?

Come on, now,

I hear you're feeling down.

Well I can ease your pain

Get you on your feet again.

Relax,

I need some information first.

Just the basic facts.

Now can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding,

A distant ship's smoke on the horizon.

You are only coming through in waves,

Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.

When I was a child I had a fever,

My hands felt just like two balloons.

Now I've got that feeling once again,

I can't explain it you would not understand,

This is not how I am.

And I have become comfortably numb.

I have become comfortably numb.

Okay,

Just a little pinprick.

There'll be no more--[scream],

But you may feel a little sick.

Can you stand up?

I do believe it's working, good.

That'll keep you going through the show,

Come on it's time to go.

There is no pain, you are receding,

A distant ship's smoke on the horizon.

You are only coming through in waves,

Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.

When I was a child,

I caught a flitting glimpse,

Out of the corner of my eye.

I turned to look but it was gone,

I cannot put my finger on it now,

The child is grown,

The dream is gone.

But I have become comfortably numb.

Hawk! Eggplant! AWAKEN!

*This isn't really my favorite song, it's in the top 20 though. It's just what I'm listening to right now. It's about pirates! Read it, it's like a story.

Rum Is For Drinking, Not For Burning

By: Senses Fail

This captain goes down with his ship,

All hands on deck, stand hip to hip.

I shout the orders, shoot to kill.

I'm dressed to thrill, I'm dressed to thrill

And all my enemies,

I want their eyes to see,

Their captain walk the plank,

Destroy them rank by rank.

Sail with me into the setting sun,

The battle has been won but war has just begun.

And as we grow emotion starts to die.

We need to find a way just to keep our desire alive.

Now set the sails to quarter mast,

Well jump their ship we'll sink them fast.

Men follow me to victory,

Red as the sea, red as the sea.

And to the cannons roar,

Their bodies dance a shore,

A pirates life for me,

I wont go quietly.

Sail with me into the setting sun,

The battle has been won but war has just begun.

And as we grow emotion starts to die.

We need to find a way just to keep our desire alive.

And to my damsel in distress,

You've made a mess of your new dress x2

Sail with me into the setting sun,

The battle has been won but war has just begun.

And as we run emotion starts to die.

We need to find a way just to keep our desire alive.

And to my damsel in distress,

You've you run away.

Hitler Was A Sensitive Man

by A n a l C u n t

Hitler was a sensitive man

He went to art school when he was younger

He wanted to be a painter

Hitler was a vegetarian

He was also a non smoker

Hitler was a sensitive man

He hired gay and handicapped officers

He was concerned about overpopulation

If hitler was alive today

He'd listened to the cure, the smiths, and depeche mode

Hitler was a sensitive man

Southern Comfort

Misty sunrise in my hometown,

Rows of cotton bout knee high,

Mrs. Baker down the dirt road,

Still got clothes out on the line,

Erwin Nichols there with Judge Lee,

Playin checkers at the gin,

When I dream about the southland,

This is where it all begins

From Carolina down to Georgia,

Smell the jasmine and magnollia,

Sleepy Sweet home Alabama,

Roll tide roll,

Muddy water, Misssissippi,

Blessed Graceland whispers to me,

Carry on, Carry on,

Sweet Southern Comfort carry on,

Catchin catfish on the river,

Chasin fireflies by the creek,

Kissin Debbie Williams sister,

On the porch Homecommin week,

With rusty cars and weeping willows,

Keepin watch out in the yard,

Just a snapshot of downhome Dixie,

Could be anywhere you are,

In Carolina or in Georgia,

Open arms are waitin for ya,

Louisianna yellow rose of San Antone,

Arkansas, Mississippi,

Old man river whispers to me,

Carry on, Carry on,

Sweet Southern Comfort carry on,

As I sit here I'm surrounded,

By these priceless memories,

I don't have to think about it,

There's no place I'd rather be,

In Carolina or in Georgia,

Smell the jasmine and magnollia,

Sleepy Sweet home Alabama,

Roll tide roll,

Muddy water, Misssissippi,

Blessed Graceland whispers to me,

Carry on, Carry on,

Sweet Southern Comfort,

Carry on, Carry on,

Sweet Southern Comfort carry on

Hello again everybody - I have been living without the internet or cable TV at my new apartment, somewhat like a 21st century monk. I am much too busy to post at work, but I will occasionally check up on things from a library or somewhere else with free internet access.

But for now, I give you one of the Stones' greatest forays into country music:

"Dead Flowers"

The Rolling Stones

Well when you're sitting there in your silk upholstered chair

Talkin' to some rich folk that you know

Well I hope you won't see me in my ragged company

Well, you know I could never be alone

Take me down little Susie, take me down

I know you think you're the queen of the underground

And you can send me dead flowers every morning

Send me dead flowers by the mail

Send me dead flowers to my wedding

And I won't forget to put roses on your grave

Well when you're sitting back in your rose pink Cadillac

Making bets on Kentucky Derby Day

Ah, I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon

And another girl can take my pain away

Take me down little Susie, take me down

I know you think you're the queen of the underground

And you can send me dead flowers every morning

Send me dead flowers by the mail

Send me dead flowers to my wedding

And I won't forget to put roses on your grave - yeah!

Take me down little Susie, take me down

I know you think you're the queen of the underground

And you can send me dead flowers every morning

Send me dead flowers by the U.S. Mail

Say it with dead flowers in my wedding

And I won't forget to put roses on your grave

No, I won't forget to put roses on your grave

baby, take off your beret

everyone's a critic and most people are DJs

Nice to see you back, Drabek.

For my part, I'm not against reading obscure opinions regarding genres. Opine away, as long as it's not a long-winded, ambiguous, obscure, and hostile opinion. If that's the case, it will be a downer.

Strange Fruit

Sung by Billie Holiday

Music and Lyrics by Lewis allen

Southern trees bear strange fruit,

Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,

Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,

Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant south,

The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,

Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,

Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,

For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,

For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,

Here is a strange and bitter crop.

As dark is the absence of light, so evil is the absence of good.

If you would destroy evil, do good.

Evil cannot be perfected. Thank God.

Richmond is a Hard Road to Travel

Anonymous

Would you like to hear my song? I'm afraid it's rather long,

Of the famous "On to Richmond" double trouble;

Of the half a dozen trips and half a dozen slips

And the very latest bursting of the bubble.

'Tis pretty hard to sing and, like a round, round ring,

'Tis a dreadful knotty puzzle to unravel;

Though all the papers swore, when we touched Virginia's shore,

That Richmond was a hard road to travel.

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeve,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel.

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeve,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel, I believe.

First McDowell, bold and gay, set forth the shortest way

By Manassas in the pleasant summer weather

But unfortunately ran on a Stonewall (foolish man!)

And had a rocky journey altogether.

And he found it rather hard to ride over Beauregard

And Johnston proved a deuce of a bother.

'Twas clear beyond a doubt that he didn't like the route

And a second time would have to try another.

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeve,

For Manassas is a hard road to travel.

Manassas gave us fits, and Bull Run made us grieve,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel, I believe.

Next came the Wooly Horse with an overwhelming force

To march down to Richmond by the Valley,

But he couldn't find the road, and his onward movement showed

His campaigning was a mere shilly-shally.

Then Commissary Banks, with his motley foreign ranks

Kicking up a great noise, fuss, and flurry,

Lost the whole of his supplies and with tears in his eyes

From the Stonewall ran away in a hurry.

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeve,

For the Valley is a hard road to travel.

The Valley wouldn't do, and we all had to leave,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel, I believe.

Then the great Galena came, with her portholes all aflame,

And the Monitor, that famous naval wonder,

But the guns at Drury's Bluff gave them speedily enough

The loudest sort of reg'lar Rebel thunder.

The Galena was astonished and the Monitor admonished,

Our patent shot and shell were mocked at,

While the dreadful Naugatuck, by the hardest kind of luck,

Was knocked into an ugly ****ed hat.

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeve,

For James River is a hard road to travel.

The gunboats gave up in terror and despair,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel, I declare.

Then McClellan followed soon, both with spade and balloon,

To try the Peninsular approaches,

But one and all agreed that his best rate of speed

Was no faster than the slowest of slow coaches.

Instead of easy ground, at Williamsburg he found

A Longstreet indeed and nothing shorter.

And it put him in the dumps that spades wasn't trumps

And the Hills he couldn't level "as he orter!"

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeve,

For Longstreet is a hard road to travel.

Lay down the shovel and throw away the spade,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel, I'm afraid.

Then said Lincoln unto Pope, "You can make the trip, I hope."

"I will save the universal Yankee nation!

"To make sure of no defeat, I'll leave no lines of retreat,

"And issue a famous proclamation!"

But that same dreaded Jackson, this fella laid his whacks on

And made him, by compulsion, a seceder.

Pope took rapid flight from Manassas' second fight,

'Twas his very last appearance as a leader.

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeve,

Stonewall is a hard road to travel.

Pope did his very best but was evidently sold,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel, I am told.

Last of all Burnside, with his pontoon bridges, tried

A road no one had thought of before him,

With two hundred thousand men for the Rebel slaughter pen

And the blessed Union flag waving o'er him.

He met a fire like hell of canister and shell

That mowed down his men with great slaughter.

'Twas a shocking sight to view, that second Waterloo,

And the river ran more with blood than water.

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeve,

Rappahannock is a hard road to travel.

Burnside got in a trap, which caused him for to grieve,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel, I believe.

We are very much perplexed to know who is the next

To command the new Richmond expedition,

For the capital must blaze, and that in ninety days,

And Jeff and his men be sent to perdition.

We'll take the cursed town, and then we'll burn it down

And plunder and hang each cursed Rebel.

Yet the contraband was right when he told us they would fight:

"Oh, yes, massa, dey will fight like the debil!"

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeve,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel.

Then pull off your overcoat and roll up your sleeves,

For Richmond is a hard road to travel, I believe.

As dark is the absence of light, so evil is the absence of good.

If you would destroy evil, do good.

Evil cannot be perfected. Thank God.

Queen - "Fat Bottomed Girls"

Are you gonna take me home tonight ?

Ah down beside that red firelight

Are you gonna let it all hang out ?

Fat bottomed girls

You make the rockin' world go round

Hey I was just a skinny lad

Never knew no good from bad

But I knew life before I left my nursery - huh

Left alone with big fat Fanny

She was such a naughty nanny

Heap big woman you made a bad boy out of me

Hey hey!

Wooh

I've been singing with my band

Across the wire across the land

I seen every blue eyed floozy on the way, hey

But their beauty and their style

Went kind of smooth after a while

Take me to them dirty ladies everytime

C'mon

Oh won't you take me home tonight ?

Oh down beside your red firelight

Oh and you give it all you got

Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin' world go round

Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin' world go round

Hey listen here

Now I got mortgages on homes

I got stiffness in ma' bones

Ain't no beauty Queens in this locality (I tell you)

Oh but I still get my pleasure

Still get my greatest treasure

Heap big woman you gonna make a big man out of me

Now get this

Oh (I know) you gonna take me home tonight (please)

Oh down beside that red firelight

Are you gonna let it all hang out ?

Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin' world go round yeah

Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin' world go round

Get on your bikes and ride

Ooh yeah oh yeah them fat bottomed girls

Fat bottomed girls

Yeah yeah yeah

Alright, ride 'em, c'mon

Fat bottomed girls - yes yes

This is an older song from a band called the Tragically Hip. Known as rawk gawds in Canada, I can't stand a lot of their stuff but their earlier albums contain some wicked cool songs, like this one.

Little Bones:

It gets so sticky down here

Better butter your cue-finger up

It's the start of another new year

Better call the newspaper up

2.50 for a hi-ball,

And buck and a half for a beer

Happy hour, happy hour

Happy hour is here

The long days of Shockley are gone

So is football Kennedy style

Famous last words taken all wrong

Wind up on the very same pile

2.50 for a decade

And a buck and a half for a year

Happy hour, happy hour

Happy hour is here

I can cry, beg and whine

T'every Rebel I find

Just to give me a line

I could use to describe

They'd say, Baby eat this chicken slow

It's full of all them little bones.

So regal and decadent here

Coffin cheaters dance on their graves

Music, all it's delicate fear

Is the only thing that don't change

2.50 for and eyeball

And a buck and a half for an ear

Happy hour, happy hour

Happy hour is here

Nothing's dead down here, just a little tired

They'd say, Baby eat this chicken slow

It's full of all them little bones.
