That's just tactless. Albeit funny.

Well, I've never been a big fan of Star Trek, so I suppose I'm not as emotional over this. And yeah, the joke was dumb and stupid, but that's my job.

Your job is being dumb and stupid?

I abhor ST, I just think that you could have left that joke unwritten.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.

 It was nice watching Star Trek as a kid and listening to Scotty's accent (my family is half-Scottish). I didn't realise until today that he was Canadian.

Thanks for the memories.

I don't believe in God, but if I did, I would say, "Beam me up God."

Or rather, "Beam him up God."

Would it be wrong to laugh?

Yes, but not out of distaste but rather cos it just aint funny.

But yeah its sad, i watched the original ST when i was a kid and enjoyed watching him in the early films. Remember when he tried to talk to the computer via teh mouse in STar Trek IV? Rest In Peace Scottie.

I liked the ST:TNG episode he was in - where they re-built the original ST bridge as best they could and stuff.

His wife Wendy plans to send the Scotty's ashes into space,

The couple had long ago agreed his ashes would be launched into the final frontier.

They are to use Space Services, a Texas-based company that rocketed the remains of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and 1960s drug guru Timothy Leary into the firmament.
