The installation company (NTL, a division of Telewest) arrived duly between the scheduled hours (after a slight confusion trying to find my address because it had been only partially recorded, despite my double checking with the operator at booking time); prompty enough to determine that the house was not served by the cable (even though I had already checked on their website to ensure that it was), so I had to chase them up to discover that the area was due for infrastructure upgrade "next year".
