Kaftan Barlast Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 The audience was astounded. "Wondrous!" Said a man on the third row. "Stunning, absolutely marvelous!" said Mrs. Maybury in the 7th row next to her cousin Bernadette who was originally from Yorkshire, before signing that highly dubious contract that affirmed kinship with Mrs Maybury. Perhaps it was her late uncle Rolf's escape to Argentina that somehow inspired.... Weiser_Cain Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I've seen worse. The worse thing here is as advertised the scanjob itself. Artwork is fine. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
Darth Flatus Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Awesome!! Chibi Gohan with the bowl haircut classic! (wow! you are scarily good  especially seeing as you're a carth fangirl )

Those   ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Baley, exuberant fulsome praise registers as effluent ... your DL praise-o-meter is stuck on 11, so it is not easy to tell whether you prefer it for its intrinsic artiness, or the artist who created it ... mkreku Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Why are manga motifs so popular? Is it because they're so easy to draw? Both my girlfriend's little sisters draw lots and lots of pictures like this one (mostly inspired by Ranma Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
11XHooah Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Damn, that's an awesome drawing. This is the best doodle that I can come up with: http://tinypic.com/view.html?pic=5z08lf Sorry for the link. It won't let me post the picture from tinypic.com War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. --John Stewart Mill-- "Victory was for those willing to fight and die. Intellectuals could theorize until they sucked their thumbs right off their hands, but in the real world, power still flowed from the barrel of a gun.....you could send in your bleeding-heart do-gooders, you could hold hands and pray and sing hootenanny songs and invoke the great gods CNN and BBC, but the only way to finally open the roads to the big-eyed babies was to show up with more guns." --Black Hawk Down-- MySpace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendid=44500195
Weiser_Cain Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Drawing in the anime style isn't easier, it's about the same. And if you use less lines those line have to be more percise or the whole image is off. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
julianw Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I despise that kid. I wouldn't talk trash about some one who can destroy planets. Awesome picture, show us more! (w00t)
kirottu Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Ah, there This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
mkreku Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Why do you keep calling it anime? I thought anime was the animated japanese cartoons, while manga was the comic book cartoons. Or at least that's how it's been explained to me.. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
EnderAndrew Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Why do you keep calling it anime? I thought anime was the animated japanese cartoons, while manga was the comic book cartoons. Or at least that's how it's been explained to me.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're dead on. People often misuse the term anime. Add to that I see atleast a good 5 distinct styles within manga and anime.
kirottu Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Why do you keep calling it anime? I thought anime was the animated japanese cartoons, while manga was the comic book cartoons. Or at least that's how it's been explained to me.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Simply bacause I first saw anime then manga... I hope I haven This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
Weiser_Cain Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Actually every artist has his own style and not all anime or manga can really be lumped together. I can tell if toriyama did something at a glance(I was very confused when I saw dragonball GT, yuck). And it's not all big eyes and or tentacles. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
Musopticon? Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Okay, I rather despise, if that's not a too strong word, drawing manga-like, if the author is european. I'd rather see original, "own" styles than a mock-up of japanese and korean drawing influences. Dont get me wrong, I've read some manga and wathced quite a bit of anime myself, even drawn some, but I'd still like to see artists doing something of their own. Aping usually results in something not quite "there". Especially if the source of inspiration is so...eww. That said, you're a good drawer(like I would say anything else) and that picture represents it. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
Atreides Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Technically DBZ is both manga and anime. Anyway reproducing material is a good way to learn before you make your own material. Spreading beauty with my katana.
Weiser_Cain Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Actually the manga was always just called dragonball the z gets tacked on to the anime for some reason that eludes me at the moment, probably something to do with freeza. Dragonball GT isn't dragonball. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
EnderAndrew Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I've always been unimpressed with Dragonball Z.
Starbreeze Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Ok, I have no idea why I'm doing this except that I've been forced to by those that shall remain nameless... Here's something I doodled today DL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are lucky to have a scanner... I like your picture! I began just copying pictures too, but then I developed my own style.
