The audience was astounded. "Wondrous!" Said a man on the third row. "Stunning, absolutely marvelous!" said Mrs. Maybury in the 7th row next to her cousin Bernadette who was originally from Yorkshire, before signing that highly dubious contract that affirmed kinship with Mrs Maybury. Perhaps it was her late uncle Rolf's escape to Argentina that somehow inspired....

Aaaah... and Launch succumbs to peer pressure. Tsk, tsk... :)

Well, you already know what I think: amazing!

Of course you realise you just opened yourself up for an onslaught of sketch requests from annoying people. Let me be the one to kick that off with MY request... Actually, I don't need to ask, you know who I want you to draw.

Please review my fanfic!

Baley, exuberant fulsome praise registers as effluent ... your DL praise-o-meter is stuck on 11, so it is not easy to tell whether you prefer it for its intrinsic artiness, or the artist who created it ...

Why are manga motifs so popular? Is it because they're so easy to draw?

Both my girlfriend's little sisters draw lots and lots of pictures like this one (mostly inspired by Ranma

Sorry for the link. It won't let me post the picture from tinypic.com

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

"Victory was for those willing to fight and die. Intellectuals could theorize until they sucked their thumbs right off their hands, but in the real world, power still flowed from the barrel of a gun.....you could send in your bleeding-heart do-gooders, you could hold hands and pray and sing hootenanny songs and invoke the great gods CNN and BBC, but the only way to finally open the roads to the big-eyed babies was to show up with more guns."

Why do you keep calling it anime? I thought anime was the animated japanese cartoons, while manga was the comic book cartoons. Or at least that's how it's been explained to me..

You're dead on. People often misuse the term anime.

Add to that I see atleast a good 5 distinct styles within manga and anime.

Actually every artist has his own style and not all anime or manga can really be lumped together. I can tell if toriyama did something at a glance(I was very confused when I saw dragonball GT, yuck). And it's not all big eyes and or tentacles.

Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (

Okay, I rather despise, if that's not a too strong word, drawing manga-like, if the author is european. I'd rather see original, "own" styles than a mock-up of japanese and korean drawing influences. Dont get me wrong, I've read some manga and wathced quite a bit of anime myself, even drawn some, but I'd still like to see artists doing something of their own. Aping usually results in something not quite "there". Especially if the source of inspiration is so...eww. That said, you're a good drawer(like I would say anything else) and that picture represents it.
