Stopping the Light/Dark Shift

This has been an ongoing problem for me and a few other players:

 

Throughout the game, despite my main character being at the maximum Light Side Points, various player character's in the party start to dramatically shift without cause. Even in the middle of conversations, suddenly Atton will grow scales or Bao will grow red face paint because he suddenly switches to a low dark side area.

 

Someone has mentioned this is due to any modding or messing with the stats of either the player characters, or the Exile themselves.

 

What stats cause this? Is it Charisma being set too high? What?

I believe this happens if your influence with the character is low.

this happened to me with Bao,he would shift between the Maul look and the normal look quite alot,though I don't think any of my other party members get this problem.

Yeah, Bao, Atton, Mira, Visas, and the Handmaiden are all over the place... which is weird because I have really high influence with all of them.

I believe it's a bug. I have this problem too.
