that was very interesting! but what about the person that isn't unionized, say he works at a painting or caprenter job, he wouldn't get paid the good money because hes not backed by the gov. so he gets paid whatever the boss decides like in a capitalist gov.?

It appears that I have not yet found a sig to replace the one about me not being banned... interesting.

well the funny thing is .. that capitalism doesn't work the same way here, it may seems a little strange to you, but even if you are not a part of a union you still get as much as all the others .. it's so rooted in our culture that we never worry about it, plus there is a minimum wager set by the goverment, but in all the time I have worked I have always been payed around 80-90-100 kr pr hour (and I think 1 dollars is about 5 kr) ... and I've never been part of a union!

I can't remember what the minimum wages are.. but if you get anything below it you simply complain to your local communal administration and the company is fined from here to hell .. so I don't think anyone dares to rip people off here! ^_^

about 40% .. but the first 36.000 you make is taxfree

WOW, i get taxed 28% and and i make $30k and im 22 paying for my own college. WITH NO HEALTHCARE!

The reason i have no healthcare through college is beacsue you have to atlest take 12 credits and i average on 8-11 only because i have to support myself.

how come you guys dont have euro's yet?

well because we are sneaky bastards .. we knew that the inflation would run amok in the countries that took it while the Euro is trying to stabilize .. which means we would make alot of money on trade in the meantime, and then we can join afterwards .. and make even more money! :D

How well do the people who work for the gov. get paid, for instance teachers?

it really depends on alot of things .. what kind of teacher you are and how long you have studied etc!

but I found that as a new teacher in a kind of High School called HTX (which focus more on practical science) you get around 20.000 kr a month .. but after a few years, with a bunch of bonuses and the likes, you can get around 28.000 ..

But I don't know if that is alot or very little .. Im not a teacher, and I don't know anyone personally who is!

hmm found a good webiste about those things.. that (20-28.000) is an average paycheck amount .. what you can expect as a new teacher, almost regardless of school!

but of course in can differ from place to place ..

so would I actually .. but that is very unlikely and would be pretty difficult to pull off I think .. the problem is that they are letting the big nations get away with too much, but if they change that I would think EU is a great idea .. until then though! let's make a united Scandinavia!

for question 1: i heard that people in scandinavia will make more on avreage in a socialist program, is this false? if it is true can you tell me how and why.

what do you mean precisely by socialist program?

I mean a socialist gov. like the one you are from. i was under the influence that the average worker gets paid more, gets their actual cut, so the top doesn't get it all, so their can't be a bill gates or enron exec with a swiss bank account.

Denmark isn't a socialist government! Social democracy, yes, but socialistic...?

Where I come from Socialism is the pre-stage of Communism. It has nothing to do with Democray nor with a flourishing economy.
