Bug (Showstopper): Cant Finish Freedon Nadd Tomb

I have fixed this issue myself See the Last post in this thread by me

for the fix and what was the ROOT cause. Entity210

If anyone can tell me how to bypass this

"BS" in the Freedon Nadd Tomb section

of the Kotor 2 game, I would GREATLY

appreciate it.

 

Here are the Details.

 

 

Software

PC version Kotor 2

 

Hardware

=========

INtel Pentium 4 Cpu 3.6 Ghz

Ati Radeon X800 XT Graphics Card

SB Audigy 2 Sound Card

4 Gig Motherboard ram

4 Terabytes Hd Storage

 

Issue:

========

I Cant Complete the Freedon Nadd Tomb to go onto

the second phase to onderon to beat and kill kavar.

 

I Cant Leave the Tomb OR Kill the Dark Jedi Master.

 

Background

===========

 

I am "TRYING" to complete the second visit to dux

where your party is split up into 2 groups.

 

Each time I have tried this section, My choice for

the group on Duxn was

 

Visas as the Group Leader Main character (Level 50)

Mandalore as second choice (Level 50)

Handmaiden as third choice (My PC is Male) (Level 50)

 

I played the game entirely Darkside. I Never ever got

any lightside points.

 

I enter the Freedon Nadd Tomb room

(aka 411dxn.are file )

 

I easily defeat the 3 dark Jedi but the last guy WONT

die and I cant kill him. I cant enter conversation with

him either.

 

He has the special Lighting FX still functioning and

he stil has a small amount of Hit poins left.

 

I have all the items from this room IE Freedon Nadds

Saber and the 2 handed dark saber.

 

I try to Leave the Area and I get the message

posted to the screen

"I cannot leave the battle at this time."

 

I want to continue the game BUT this is a SHOW

stopper BUG and I dont know what to do. I have

tried work arounds such as putting Blank compiled

ncs files in the overide directory

( the "k_411_hb.ncs" and the "k_411_enter.ncs" files )

but this did not work. I tried modifing the "Are"

file by removing the onenter and onheartbeat scripts

and putting that new file in the override directory

but no luck.

 

As far as ExecuteScript function is concerned I dont

know what to do.

 

I need Game flags set so I can

1) Leave area properly

2) start second phase

 

The scripts I "feel" that MAY and I stress the

word MAY be causing the problem are:

 

a_leave_411.ncs

a_unlock_door.ncs

k_411_enter.ncs

k_411_hb.ncs

tr_leave_411.ncs

tr_ritual_sc_2.ncs

 

I even know from the NOTES section in the

411dxn.Are file the following Field Data:

 

Exit_Door

40 - Play dialogue when you first enter

45 - End fight with Ritual Guys

46 - They all dead now

60 - For the Cutscene with the Door Opening

 

My issue is with the TAG "EXIT_Door" and

FORCING it to work even though the Last

Ritual Jedi is still Alive.

 

 

WHAT I want.

============

A way to continue the game.

 

I dont know if teleporting will work. Dont

have the script for it and I dont know if

the game flags will be set properly to allow

me to continue IF I do use teleport.

 

Using ExecuteScript function - ie

Use "~" and type ingame on screen

ExecuteScript("a_leave_411", OBJECT_SELF);

to me is kinda useless at the moment

unless I have a script the will "WHACK"

or nuke that Last Ritual Jedi with the

Lighting effect still active.

 

Can anyone help me with this so I can

contiune the game. This is one showstopper bug.

 

Is there a cheat I can do to Kill the

last Ritual Jedi Or FORCE dialogue with him ????

 

Or is there a Script to bypass the

"I cannot leave the battle at this time."

Message.

 

I can even send you a save game zipped if

you want to test this for yourself.

 

I have 3 screen shots.

 

Two screen shots shot the the final

Dark Jedi MAster (ritual) standing with

a very small amount of hit points and

lighting effect flowing either to some

point in the corridor entrance or

over the tomb area. The Last Screeen

shot is the Posted message to the screen

"I cannot leave the battle at this time."

 

Whatever the solution that is offered,

your help will greatly be appreciated.

do you have a save from earlier on in the tomb like the autosave or something. Most likely a script just miss fired. I had it happen on the Ebon Hawk. I couldnt talk to anyone or fight them for that so I reloaded and it worked. Also that last guy is supposed to die when you break into the room, thats why i think it is a missed script or a damaged one. It takes a certain amount of damage to kill him and the script isn't giving that amount of damage.

This is what happens when you can't repair HK-47: [Failure] ...aahhhh! What are you doing?! Remove the arc wrench, remove the arc wrench! Medic!

I tried from the beginning and it does not work ever. I started the gam from scratch 3 times and did lots of reloads IE starting to travel to planet.

 

No good. I need a way to get that guy to die. I went in with a differeent crew

also. Atton as lead and hanharr and goto. Also tried Hanmaiden lead

hk47 and mandalore.

 

I am hosed. I need instructions on how to kill that guy using

the ingame "`" cheat prompt. OR a script that will terminate him correctly.

i bet those cheats screwed your game up. level 50 Visas? level 50 mandalore? hmmm.

 

 

the other charcters are not L50 however. I used them as well and had the same issue. It is not the level of the chars but the script in the trigger or area file

not executing properely.

 

According to the known bugs page

cut scenes being RUSHED before completion

IE the guy standing who is supposed to be fried BEFORE the fight with the

REMAINING 3 dark is DIRECLTY responsible for this issue.

MY characters are not at fault and the game supports up to and

including Level 50 characters. NO more though.

I did at one point think they could be the cause but very early

on in my analysis ruled out his issue due to reading others somewhat

similar issues in different areas of the game as well as my own testing of

lower level characters.

 

I WISH that was the cause its easy to fix. Unfortunately it is not the root

cause. THe root cause is with the cut scene rushing by or not allowing

the fisdt script to not execute properly and hence the guy remains alive

in the room and I remain stuck in the game unable to complete it ever.

 

This again is a known bug which I have the misfortune to run into.

Its effect is to prevent me from finishing the game ever. I would like to

at least once. This is why I am looking for a temporary work around until

the alleged patch comes out to supposedly "fix" this booboo.

Game supports level 50, that's correct, but there are more people that have problems with scripts after cheating.... Apparently cheating messes up scripts or so... Why would you cheat with this game anyway? It's very easy without cheating....

You dont need to I was able to find AND fix the problem in the

ritlead.dlg

 

The ROOT issue is the following:

 

The dialogue below is spoken by the Sith Captain or Head MAster Jedi

AND is the the Speciic Script that does NOT fire correctly.

 

{Arg! As one of the Sith is consumed by the Dark Side backlash}

a_ritual_sc_1 <---- Script not being run properly.

 

WHAT I did to WORK around this issue

was to READD the same scipt in the very next dialogue line spoken

 

You are too late. We have done what needed to be done. Soon Onderon shall fall, and with it, the Republic shall die.

 

a_ritual_sc_1 <----- Added here

now this kinda messes up the dialogue slightly and you rally should just

pick the last option to fight right away to avoid the glitch

however BY readding the scrpt a second time at this point that

guy is nuked and I am able to continue.

 

I am enclosing the dialogue file here for anyone else that runs into

the same issue I did.

Just put the file in your override directory and you are good to go.

you only need this file IF you get problem I had and cant leave the area

until all the guys are dead.

 

 

Anyway thanks to all who tried to help me resolve this issue.

NOTE this is NOT a zip file. RENAME the .ZIp to .Dlg

and put into your overrrsie directory. Again this file is not compressed.

Just want to mention this IS a lvl 50 issue.

 

His HP get inflated due to having to match up lvl 50, and the script just doesn't do enough damage. You can see it in other parts of the game too, like on Onderon where you lightning the Ramp to the Palace, and Bostuco and his people just stay alive and well.

 

Long story short; Don't cheat.
