It's gotta be tough living down in Sunny San Diego.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Why, cost of living? I commute from San Marcos. 30min to an hour drive. Moving to Oceanside in Feb though.

Are they all working on the same project?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think not. Remember Midway does loads of sports games too.

Its too bad all their talent is wasted on working in midway. Specially maldonaldos and sawyers.

BTW, does anyone have any idea why maldonaldo left obsidian?

No. Tom Hall works on third party titles out of San Diego. John Romero is the Creative Director for San Diego and is working as a designer on a map for Gauntlet. Harvey Smith is at Midway Austin and I don't know anything about Warren Spector. Dave Maldonado and Terry Spier (Slyle) are also working on Gauntlet.

Oceanslime?

Not my favorite part of San Diego. I was being sarcastic about it being tough. San Diego is probably my favorite city in the country.

Next week. Midway is now a sub-division of Obsidian.

I'm not too thrilled over moving to Oceanside ethier but thats where the cheapest condo is. :)

Unfortunately I don't have a basis for comparison since I lived in San Diego/North County my entire life. In other words I've never lived in the real world. (i.e everything outside of California) I hear we have great weather. To this I must concur. :)

Wow. A California admits there is a real world outside of California. I knew a bunch of people that simply referred to the Midwest as the "dirt states".

One guy in San Diego though Omaha was Africa. No joke. He saw Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom with lions and tigers. So he thought that's what Omaha was like.

They aren't, and Omaha isn't? (Last part I was just kidding, please don't rock my world with the first though. )

Anyhow, the Southern Californians call us up North Cow People....so we probably don't count anyway. :p

Well one of my former co-workers from the midwest (Detroit to be exact) kept touting how Californians aren't really living in the real world. There living in la la land, they don't know what the real world is like. This of course was when he was bummed over the fact that his wife was forcing him to move back to the midwest.

Sawyer and the Midway crew should make an RPG called "Quest to the Dirt States"

Quest for the dirt states.... I love it. I thought that was what Fallout 3 was supposed to be before they decided to put it in Morrowind.

Post Apocalyptic Dirt States? I'm thinking something similar to the 'Glow' in Isaac Asimov's Space Trilogy.

Now I'm picturing the Postman. Good book. Decent movie.

Wow frog, Iím surprised you grew up in California. From my experiences, California is all transplants from the Midwest etcÖ And the people who grew up there move out to Arizona or Reno or somewhere to get away from all the people. But, of course thatís only my experiences from my 15 or so visits.

I don't really know San Marcos, but if it's 30 minutes from San Diego, it's pretty far south.
