His job is not to persuade everyone to get along. It's to force them to. Another thing about Bush - he made it though Yale with a C+ average, didn't he? And became a born-again Christian at age 40, whilst killing over sixty 'felons' proven innocent by DNA testing. Unfortunately, DNA does not exist according to -some- beliefs. It's just one of those things where as far as people are concerned, there is no "right" way to go about it other than their way. I am a Christian, and I attend a Christian school. However, I'm constantly at odds with my classmates because I can't stand President Bush. There is something wrong when a President depends on waving the Christian flag to rally his troops in his "crusade on immorality". Can't the guy win on anything else? The sad thing is, I share the same values he does. I've learned however, that you can't force those values on people. Even Jesus didn't do that. People gotta remember though (at least this is what I tell my classmates) that for every anti-bush joke out there, there was an anti-kerry one too. Frankly I have a general distaste for most religions, but Christianity I have particular hate for due to the fact I had the most contact with it. The way I live my life is my business and I don't need buggers harass me on my way to class or force their propaganda in my face while heading to the student union, nor do I need the same buggers knocking on my door. When a Christian agrees with you regarding Bush and cites some of the same reasons you cite, why make the issue one of Christianity in the first place? Who is imposing their view in this thread? Democrats don't want to be associated with the most extreme and unfriendly elements of their own party, and yet many do seem quick to associate the most urbane and reasonable Christian with the most obnoxious elements of Christianity. Nuts, we're are people before we are anything else. That you believe that we are people entirely by chance where I see a guiding hand in our human condition doesn't change the end result... our shared humanity. Yeah, I hate Bush more than being Christian and it wouldn't be an issue if he wasn't flaunting it. I hate Bush for quite a number of reasons but I hate the Federal government even moreso. I was the only person in my family born there of my generation, and I wouldn't live there again for anything. Sounds like you're going through a rough patch, friend. As for your screenplay, I have only this to say, and it is entirely off topic: hardly anyone finishes a screenplay. It's a lot of writing. If it's not the greatest in the world, then it is certainly a substantial amount of practice.
