Who knows. I guess it's best not to get your hopes up too high, lest they be dashed (though I don't think they will).

Agree doubt youll meet them long enough to have such impact on them, while you might have a short flirt who is to say, but you have to remember Revan was charismatic to so it might not be easy to charm bastila from him given his still alive and they are together.

DarthDoGooder:

" Could be? Could be? It was, is and forever shall be!"

I understand your appreciation for this game and the company who created it but, in my experience, attitudes like this tend to lead to disappointment. This is the first game from a new company and while I do believe it will be excellent there are always aspects of a game that aren't what we desire or that could have used just that much more polish.

If nothing else, perhaps you ought to play the game before you decide that it's the best RPG of the decade.

I was joking around. That's a little hard to convey through a forum post sometimes, but I was just trying to get across how I thought it sounds like a cool game. And, actually, the few games that I have thought that about, I ended up overlooking all of the flaws and continue to think they are some of the best games ever.

I think that depends on the situation. Whether she was redeemed or not, and whether he is LS/DS. Also, my uber Charisma score can convince anyone. (SHH! Don't tell! It's a secret! :geek: )

Maybe because romance is often the key to good story, how many stories do you know without romance that hit high in blockbusters.

I have no objections about my PC have a go at romance.....

It's just that these romance threads tend to be most viewed and attract most replies....

Well, I find it all completely fascinating. I've been trying to avoid any and all information on KOTOR II for the simple reason that I want to be able to sleep at night for the remaining few days until it is released. But then I saw the almighty thread on romances and...well....that plan went to hell. I'm so hyped up now it's ridiculous.

The only thing I'm concerned about is how it almost sounds like you'll romance a character, but it won't end in anything worthwhile. And I find that rather frustrating in a game. Reminds me of Legaia 2 or...LOTR: The Third Age. If I'm going to sink time into a romance, I at least want it to have a conclusion, for good or ill. I don't want it to be so 'behind the scenes' that it's non-existant and leaves barely a trace on the game itself.

Even a romance that ends badly, like in Baldur's Gate 2, when you change Virconia's alignment, are quite satisfying as long as they go somewhere, I'm pretty inclined to believe that no matter which romantic option you choose, that it will end sort of bittersweet, at best.

Doubt it. All you got in KOTOR was one kiss from Bastila, and Chris Avellone said that the romances in KOTOR2 would be more talking, because consummation could ruin it.

Having is not so pleasurable a thing as wanting, or somesuch.

I hope that characters can do more than kiss.

Ya like if your character is male then your love interest could emasculate you with there constant nagging infront of the other pcs

I agree with Darth_Gandalf. What's the point? If Im going to try to have a VG romance then I want it to be worth something, not just a f*ck. (Sorry for the rudeness ppl.) Having anything more than a kiss, make the game something it's not....porn.

Sadly Laozi there might be some truth to your words if they focused romance alot around SW universe it leaves you open to the Dark side gives opponents a openly weakness in your perfect jedi universe as is to say if you choose light path.

Remember how obi-wan talked about reason he dident tell Luke about his sister was to hide that knowlegde from Vader, if you get a romance as LS it might well be as in Kotor1 where Malak uses that knowlegde to try and turn you, with trying to force you to kill bastila and doom you to the Dark side from doing it.

I dont know if this is what they meant by romances might involve problem outside group.

EDIT: It was Vaders knowlegde and playing with luke's feeling around his sister that nearly lead Luke to the DS.

But taking a Jolee-esque viewpoint on it: Not only passions are bad. They simply provide another access point for bad things. If you can control it, love actually allows you to turn Bastila back much easier and she lives. The same principle holds true elsewhere.

But the real question is what is the level of bitter sweet? You could have bitter sweet like Empire,where you know the two people care about each but they don't end up together for some reason.

Could have bitter sweet because they end up together but because of things that happened it places a bit of downer on things.

And you could have bitter sweet/screwed over without a please and thank you.

Hmmm,*ponders*...lots of ways it could go. Personally I'd rather see all three be an option. Just more ways to play it out with each person.

Now there's a thought. That would be a good idea. It would add even more replay value, since you'd have more than one person to romance, and more than one way to end it. Not to mention it'd give you a little more choice in how your character's love life plays out at the end.

Exactly my line of thinking on the issue. More ways to play=a good thing.

Maybe it's a situation where each option has one of the endings.

I.E.

Handmaiden=Bitter Sweet,but together.

Mira=Bitter sweet not together.

Marr=Bitter sweet/screwed over without a please and thank you.

Same for the female options. Would be another interesting way to play it out.

((No real order or reason behind why I gave each character the ending I did just using it as an example.))
