Now as to why they chose the Xbox version over the PC verison I could only guess that it would be because it would take longer to bug test and system test for the PC version than the carbon copy Xbox. More people have consoles than capable PCs (or the PC owners are not all gamers). I know that the international version also has to be dubbed. <_< If I'm not spending money on my relatives, I'll probably use my target giftcards (I get like. . .25$-50$ every year) and leftover cash from buying gifts (and that extra bit I save up from lunch every day!) to buy my copy of K2. Who decided to delay the xbox and pc version of Splinter Cell, which was due this November, now march 2005! So they could release the game simultaneously on all platforms. DLC was only promised for the Xbox version, iirc, and now it has been cut. People just assumed that the PC version would get it to start with or to DL later. While that might have ended up being the case, we really don't know if it would have been. As for extra content for the PC: We are assured a better polished game because of the delay. Will we get something along the lines of new areas or weapons? No idea. I think that they just started to talk about what they want to do with the game late last week and this week (because the xbox version was turned late last week, last I heard.) As far as I know, the PC and X-Box were both on track for the same December 2004 date.
