Bastila's definitely coming back.

If you choose the LS ending, she'll be one of the high ranked Jedi.

If you choose the DS ending, she'll be one of the Sith "Lords" you'll face. Hell, she'll probably have taken over the mantle from Revan (easy way to not have to show Revan (read: show his face)).

Alanshu - it must be difficult to put all your thoughts in just one post?

HERMOCRATES:

Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks

of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned.

This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.

Please don't bring back Bastila.

I hated that woman.

Whine whine whine. You don't love me! I'm going to the dark side! Whine whine whine. I change my mind faster than you can hyperspace! Whine whine whine. Look, I'm evil! NO WAIT I LOVE YOU IM GOOD K? Whine whine whine. :: Lightsaber through chest ::

Dead.

Almost as whiny as Aerie in BGII, except not as pretty, and didn't sleep with me.

Negative, Popey.

I seriously doubt that, with her fickleness combined with unparalleled skills to WHINE, she can't take over a crabs infested brothel much less than the universe.

Hmm, reflecting upon the original KOTOR, let's see what she did right:

NOTHING.

-She lost her lightsaber (Yeah, gj JEDI!)

-She got captured (by thugs who can't roll a saving throw if they rigged the dice)

-She gets captured AGAIN (pointlessly throwing herself into Revan's arms)

-She tries to be evil but potentially FAILS (oooh, you love me? Cool. Okay lemme get naked and turn goody goody now.)

Hmm...

I would much rather see a return of Juhani, whom I thought was a character worth making a comback of. She was one of the only memorable characters that really stood out. The whole joseph cambell style of sinking into darkness and emerging from the cocoon gives her a personality worth admiring.

Don't let Bastila the Bloody Bastard's abnormally large boobs (which are FAKE, btw) and ugly face fool you into thinking she's a solid (haha) character. She's got no outstanding personality, nothing special worth remembering, and nothing to show for her efforts in self-improvement. She's one of those characters that just DOESN'T seem to seek self-improvement, and as such, she is flawed, empty, and rotting inside.

The way she treated her mother... oooh... makes me wanna blow my top.

Bastila = Die plz k thx.

Yeah the catwoman is really fascinating...especially her east-european soviet accent...

Bastila has fascinating personality. And you are a sexist who sees only through

her body. Maybe you were dissapointed at the end that you couldn't f*** her

and that's why you don't like her? Besides you are a minority among fans so shut up and be quiet. No one cares about your sexual frustrations.

At last we have new idiot on this forum...

My friend, my loving, christian, heartwarmed, young friend who failed the SAT reading comprehension:

Read my post again, please, and you will soon see that I said though Bastila has a slightly more feminine form, she has no personality. This is why I prefer the "catwoman" who though far less attractive to younglings like you, contains far more personality, personality which I prefer in a deeply developed and richly formulated character.

You can't call me a sexually frustrated person.

You can call me a cat fetishist.

You can accuse me to sodomizing my cat.

You can call me a furry lover.

You can call me a pervert who goes to circuses and f's bearded ladies.

When you insult me, please understand my post first and direct your insults appropriately, thank you.

If you think that you will make career on this board by annoying people you are wrong. You are one-day sensation I believe. And for a sexual matters you are the first who put this issue as I remember:

"Almost as whiny as Aerie in BGII, except not as pretty, and didn't sleep with me."

"Don't let Bastila the Bloody Bastard's abnormally large boobs (which are FAKE, btw)"

And who's obsessed? Does normal man use such language? Such language is used

only by perverts who lick porn-sites all day long.

Don't like Bastila? OK but still you are noisy minority. Ignore it but this is fact. Most people want her and you can only throw us with your hate and frustration.

Don't call me a christian and a youngling. I 'm neither religious or a teen.

You know? Maybe it's good that you came to this board. We'll have a good entertainment reading your pompous pseudo-scientific posts...

I have sent you a PM saying "I love you"

Now then, let's get down to business.

Firstly, I enjoy humor. I love adding humor to my posts. Previous posters in this thread (YES, unlike some people I start reading threads from page 1.) have mentioned Bastila's physical qualities. Henceforth, I thought some jokes about her sexuality would generate a welcoming laughter.

You don't like it.

Congrats, you must be a better man than I.

I'm not going to derail the thread in a flaming wreck, so bringing it back on topic:

I don't like Bastila. I am the minority. Avellone & co. has given me enough faith in their past games to post this because unlike arrogant companies, they DO listen to minorities. They can read my posts, absorb what they want, and dump the rest. The fact that I dislike Bastila makes me a minority. The fact that I dislike shallow characters who are NOT very well developed makes me a glaring majority.

I think Bastila wasn't a very well developed character. My opinion. Devs shouldn't shrug off my post because i'm a MINORITY. Devs should look at my post, understand WHY I think the way I think, and they're one person richer in understanding what their fans want.

Simple.

I love you.

Don't hate me because you want to start a mob in crusade to kill all Bastila naysayers.

I didn't personally attack you, don't attack me.

(I hate to pull rank here, but I'm not by any stretch of the imagination *new*. Nor do I seek to make a *career*.)

OK you have proved your point. Of course you have right to dislike her... maybe I shouldn't be so brash. Anyway BIG SORRY (for my language, my opinions remains unchanged) Ufff I should learn to tolerate others.

I think we might be going about this whole deal of Bastila being alive the wrong way. It might not be so much as important as whether or not you were able to redeem/kill/apprentice Bastila at the end of KOTOR 1, but rather what transpired during the 5 year gap between KOTOR 1 and the start of KOTOR 2. You guys have to remember that the war between the Old Republic and the Sith is still going strong, so there's a good chance that Bastila might have become a casualty of war along with a rebel fleet or had gotten lost along with Revan, or heck, whatever else you might think could have happened.

In my opinion Bastilia was an undeveloped character but the romance between you and her was very well developed. So while I may not miss Bastilia specifically I would like to have a woman by my side. I loved that DS ending where she does your intro. It's like the culmination of everything. You have an unstoppable army. You yourself are unstoppable anyway. And to cap it off you have a pretty woman by your side that you macked in between saving the world. It was sweet.

sooner or later the discussion would have got stuck at a quarrel over Bastila's boobs.

In 8 months everyone's going to find out what happens, all sorts of speculation proves to be futile; it serves as a pretext to incite people into quarrels.

one thing, though: for the sake -at least- of next year's Kotor 3 speculations, let the leading female character have less pronounced boobs in TSL. Too inconvenient for a lady hopping around in space: Though much to the regret of many gamers, she should be thankful for the limitations of computer graphics, and the available number of, er, animations.

Did she really have big breasts in KOTOR? I would rather say that they were medium - not too big and not too small. And what really counts, is her amazing voice.

There are women with big breasts in real life. The developers shouldn't feel contrived just because some people are immature. They should be able to show all sorts of body types. Stunningly beautiful and incredibly ugly. It shouldn't be limited to what people feel is acceptable is space. LOL

Right now we don't know much about the new characters or plot line, so it will be rather difficult to speculate how the characters from the two games converge.

So I will continue to throw out Cyborg speculations. Maybe Bastilla is an evil Cyborg sent from the future to kill us all in KOTOR:2, and Revan comes back as a Cyborg programmed to protect us.

LOL

You really like Cyborgs, don't you Ender? :p

I never thought Bastila's boobs were that big. Perky, yes, but not large.

The female PC on the other hand....I had to buy extra strength armor just to keep those puppies from putting out an eye when she ran.

Whitemithrandir take a deap breath and relax, your opinion is your own. I will disagree with you though. In my opinion your view is shalow to say the least.

Dont confuse Bastila with Lara Croft. Her body is perfectly realistic for a pixel lady. She is not exagerated in anyway I could notice. Her body is perfectly proportionate for young fit woman she id supposed to be.

Saying she was a casualty of war is equivalent to just writing her off, would make alot of people disapointed. I dont think it will be realistic to make her a pivotal part of the new story because it will spoil some people's endings (thought I dont think they feel as strong about it). But atleast they should keep her in the ongoing story and give her an apearence if the player chooses that she survived.

PS. How can you not like boobs? You are either jelous girls or I dont even know, gay or something. Even if it is a pixel woman...

I quote messages as I read them. I hadn't read anything in this thread since I was gone for the past few days....so when I saw something I would make a comment. On occassion though, there were actually times I did edit some of my posts to add to them.

Sequel rule #1: Never write out major characters from the original without a good explanation.

Regardless of whether or not you liked her, Bastila was a key player in KOTOR 1. You can't just silently ignore her impact on the events leading up to and surely following the first game any more than you could ignore Revan's. Sequel rule #2 is to never crap on the original's ending, but that's a different story.

Personally, I would have preferred that they went with the LS ending from the first game and kept most of the characters, and given us some new enemies (I fought enough Sith Troopers and Dark Jedi on the Star Forge, giving me a different character isn't going to make that fun again). The formula worked. KOTOR is the only game I've ever played where I actually played the same levels over and over again just to hear the different character interactions. Soon, the game isn't just about the hacking and slashing or the lightsaber duels, it's about the story and those involved with it.

I don't think KOTOR would be half the game it is without its deep, well-written story and its endearing characters. I don't know anything about Obsidian, so I have no idea whether or not they'll be able to emulate that. I certainly hope so, otherwise we may be looking at a dry, repetitive sequel on par with Matrix 2 or Deus Ex: IW.

Anyway, there's always optimism. 100%.

If Battle Meditation was so incredible, then having her around makes it hard to accept the Republic got owned so easily by the Sith.

Battle Meditation wouldn't help much in a war of assassination.

If the Sith had decided to wage a "terrorist style" war against the Jedi before trying another all out assault on the Republic, I don't see much use for Bastila's power in that case. If she is alive.
