Raithe
In the first film all the characters start off at level one— boosting VCRs, simple quarter mile street races, and the biggest villain was just the police. Nothing fancier than NOS under the hood and the adventuring party is only a handful of people. If this was a DnD campaign, at the very start the DM is taking this incredibly seriously. By the players handbook only. No breaking the laws of physics and no rule of cool— a straight to the point dungeon crawl. These are tough street racers who take themselves seriously! 1/? Smash cut to 2023 and the DM has decided f**k it— the players love the rule of cool and we are having WAY more fun just doing the most wild **** ever. All the PCs have plot armor, and hell some of the NPCs do too! A beloved NPC or two died? Not for long. 2/? The players are now level 15– they’ve recruited precious villains into the party, they’ve driven cars out of planes, punched missiles, their subclasses are maxed out at this point and they have every legendary item their bags of holding can carry, right? What’s a DM to do? 3/? In comes ‘Fast X’ to introduce the BBEG of this long running 22 year campaign: honestly the best most flamboyant, over the top, psychopathic villain the franchise has ever seen. He’s over-leveled, over-powered, and he’s here to make these level 15 players feel like hell. 4/? During the whole of this film we-- the audience-- know that the players will be fine. The DM has proven the PCs have plot armor, but we are on the edge of our seat anyway! Every stunt, every explosion, every minute of nonstop near laughable action has us hooked. 5/? And Fast X ended on a cliffhanger! Just how a good DM does it! Honestly the @TheFastSagais the greatest example of going from level 1 antiheroes, leveling up through fights, looting, and found family, and ending up champions of the realm against all odds. 6/? Somehow-- SOMEHOW--the DM surprises us (and the players? I've lost this metaphor...) every session and keeps us wanting more. Thank god this campaign isn't over. Holy hell I just love this franchise with my whole heart. Unironically. The end. 7/7 1 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum." teknoman2
2 The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder. -Teknoman2- What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past? Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born! We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did. Keyrock
1 RFK Jr 2024 "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together." - President Dwight D. Chilloutman
1 I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"
