Strange buff on Jadaferlas

Recommended Posts

That is an enchantment on St. Omaku's Mercy (warbow). I don't think a charm could transfer it to an enemy. I guess it just coincidentally has the same name.

Either the effect on the Dragon has nothing to do with Galawain's Boon that the character might have or it's a proper hostile effect that just accidentally gets listed under beneficial effects or it's really a bug where the dragon gets what you should have.

No idea what of the above it is though. I guess one needs more testing - or somebody could use the console to add the effect to a char to check out what it actually does. Maybe I'll have time for that later...

It restores health to nearby allies, maybe you charmed her?

Nope, I haven't been to the bog this run yet (my wizards are using the PL8 summoned bow)

I also found this:

Seems to be a problem that affects all dragon fights.

Yeah, I did choose the aggressive legacy this run, and the dialogue is what I got too.  Guess I have extra hard dragon fights this run!

Here's the game data for CHA_CRE_Dragon_Magma abilities:

"Passive (EASY): Starting Concentration 1",
"Passive (NORMAL, HARD, PATH): Starting Concentration 3",
"Passive (NORMAL, HARD, PATH): Deathblows",
"Passive (HARD, PATH): Deep Wounds",
"Passive (NORMAL, HARD, PATH): Persistent Distraction",
"Passive (NOT STORY): Survival of the Fittest",
"Passive (HARD, PATH): Engagement Strike",
"Passive (NOT STORY): Concentration Buffer - used to prevent Battle Roar from being used immediately after Concentration",
"Fiery Breath (ALL)",
"Tail Swipe (ALL)",
"Sulfur Stone (NOT STORY)",
"Battle Roar (NOT STORY)",
"Stone and Flame (STORY, EASY)","
Stone and Flame (NORMAL, HARD)",
"Stone and Flame (PATH)",
"Stone Shell (NORMAL, HARD, PATH)",
"Fiery Maw (EASY)",
"Fiery Maw (NORMAL, HARD, PATH)",
"Volcanic Roar (STORY)",
"Volcanic Roar (EASY)",
"Volcanic Roar (NORMAL)",
"Volcanic Roar (HARD)",
"Volcanic Roar (PATH)",
"Dragon Scales",
"Passive: Galawain's Wrath (Pillars 1 Reactivity)",
"Passive: Galawain's Favor (Pillars 1 Reactivity)"]

Looks like Galawain's Wrath might be weakening the Dragon, while Galawain's Favor is probably if you botch things with Galawain somehow.

IIRC, if you pledged to Galawain in PoE and broke your promise, he buffs the dragon encounters.

I assume if you pledged to him and did right by him, the opposite happens?

I'm pretty sure that this playthrough is supposed to be friendly with Galawain, so it might be the other way around.

Just got to the fight myself.

In my run, I set the background as having pledged to Galawain and betrayed him (I always do it on purpose to get him to buff the dragon fights.)

Right before the fight ensued, our dude Galawain tugged at my soul to let me know I was about to taste his vengeance and what have you. Jadawhatever then had the "Galawain Wrath" buff.

So the name of the buff/debuff is not addressed to the dragon, but to the Watcher (if Galawain is angry with the Watcher, Galawain's Wrath buffs the dragon; if Galawain is pleased with the Watcher, Galawain's Favor weakens the dragon.)
