We really need an angry face so some of our more pernicious posters can get wins around here.

I had an idea like that and even put in in the feedback thread, but then you'd just have trolls carrying the day all the time. I'm uncertain if that's a good idea. Probably a good thing I got ignored hard, and, quite frankly, if I can manage to have a "win" or  two, everyone can. I'm usually dead last in these popularity contests. If that sound bitter then that is....

...because I am, I obvisouly deserve to be much more popular than I am!

Tell me about it.  I've never won an Obsidz popularity contest, but I would probably come out on top of an unpopularity one.  <.<  Kind of an odd place to have a board popularity discussion though.  On the other hand, what are these boards if not multiplayer RPG?

EDIT:  I actually wish I had access to the old BIS stuff.  I created a board game there that I thought was pretty funny.  Damn, that was a long time ago.

I just now realized "Content count" is not the same as actual total "post count."  Either that or the "content count" is only posts since the new forum style was implemented and my 16k "post count" is everything.  *confusion*  I still always wonder what my post count would be if you included WoT posts from back when I posted constantly. Scratch that, maybe I don't want to know.

Anyway, going to try some more Satisfactory this afternoon. Maybe I can not die in the first 5 minutes this time and actually build something.  I usually avoid "Early Access" these days but I'm bored enough and it looked ... open world-roaming/builder/graphic-ho'ing enough ... to say "why not."

Finished WL2, wow I did not do a good job in Arizona, made life better in California though.  Was going to say it was more than worth the money but I got it for free so...

Tell Me Why.  An adventure game with customizable controls, gorgeous graphics, excellent VA and light puzzles. Completed the game, going to hunt for the collectibles.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-reckoning. It looks and runs well. I remember the original vaguely enough to enjoy the remaster. And the combat is very satisfying, while not being Souls-like.

As someone who joined the initial kickstarter on Star Citizen,  I performed my annual "okay, lets update the launcher and see how much hassle it is to log in and run things now" out of curiosity.

Had to make about 5 attempts before it would recognise my login and password, had to uninstall and reinstall it all, then loaded into the port. Spent about 15 minutes roaming around trying to figure out where my ship was while everything was distinctly laggy, and decided to give it up as a bad job today. Maybe I'll try again later in the week.

I need to check Star Citizen as well this year. Just seems like too much hassle to even try.

Maybe we can get organised and take turns? This year was Raithe's. Next year I check. There probably is a person who could take 2022.

My main problem with Total War: Troy is the reinforcement mechanic. Reinforcements appear immediately at the start of the battle. That's not reinforcements, that is simply two stacks.

And garrisons reinforce friendly armies in their province, meaning defenders get free troops.

It's a very clumsy way of handling it.

"Playing" in the sense of I spent £1.50 to get Fortify on Steam so I can play around and practice how to set up geometric shapes to build stuff before I waste resources and time in Conan Exiles....

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

That is pretty meta. Buying a game so you can plan out how to build stuff in another game. :p

No, just a lot of disk partitions. Easy to lose track of my files and folders when I have drives C through H, with most of them being simply transplanted from my previous PC. ;)

My external backup disk has a folder for each partition I had. C through S. Well... I had three disks and was a firm believer of not wasting precious space by making partitions too large way back when FAT32 was still a thing.

Good old times.

I started up Paradise Killer. Initial impressions are very good. You can definitely see the Danganronpa influence. The backstory of the game world is really ****ed up. The island was created by a syndicate worshiping alien gods who previously sank the world into war and bloodshed. They kidnap people from the outside world and force them to worship said alien gods in an effort to resurrect them and all those kidnapped people eventually get sacrificed. The island is inhabited by some really wacky and colorful characters. Unlike Danganronpa, the game isn't linear, you are in an open world and it's up to you where you go and how you proceed with your investigation, there is very little hand holding. It's a detective game where you actually feel like you are doing detective work, piecing together a puzzle, weighing the testimony of individuals, following up on clues, rather than going through a checklist.

Maybe it's an old one and everyone has already played it, but..

I recently started playing ATOM: RPG and I must say I've been having a blast so far. It's an isometric (but 3D), turn-based RPG set in a post-apocalyptic Russia that's quite dialogue and skill-check heavy, in a good way. It's made by a Russian indie team so expect a lot of typos and syntactic errors, but it's still a well-written game with lots of unexpected dialogue, descriptions and humour. It very much resembles the old Fallout games (1 & 2), even down to using the same (I presume) font for conversations.

A good sign saying a lot about how surprisingly complex this game is, is that I've started a second, parallel play-through before I've even finished my first game. The lure of finding out how a different build would behave in the game was simply too strong. I usually never do this, but so many options were locked out and so many situations could be solved in different ways that I couldn't help myself. Complex, indeed.

I'm not very far in since the game has a semi-open overworld (just like the Fallouts) and I'm having too much fun trying to survive and explore without getting killed by random mutants or bandits. I've only managed to complete the first main mission and I've already spent 30+ hours in the game. The combat is not Jagged Alliance 2 caliber but at least I'm having more fun than watching 20 rats slowly taking their turns crawling across bad graphics (looking at you, Fallout).

I also play this game with companions, something I also almost never do. Not sure why.. I even got myself my own slave girl! (don't ask)

I'm at a point where I "unlocked" a home base that I just started upgrading (repairing water pumps and generators and such with my crappy repair skill). That's also surprisingly addictive, I can barely wait to see what I can do with it. Looking forward to going home from work today to continue playing.

The Majesty level where you need to make 100k gold was fun, casino saved me there.  Also had a funny issue where a caravan couldn't find a path to the marketplace, so kept watching ~1200 gold just aimlessly wander around the town,.

The investigation is coming along in Paradise Killer. Several people have definitely done some questionable things, but I currently have 1 primary suspect who is especially sus. Said suspect has flat out lied to me, once that I can say 100% absolutely for sure, and likely about a couple other things too, though I can't yet be 100% certain about those. I'm not going to confront said suspect with my findings yet, I want to gather more intel before I give them a chance to explain themselves or the rope with which to hang themselves.

That can be a tough level.

Especially as it can't be solved by spamming Paladins 😛

This is true, I almost felt like giving up and uninstalling when I couldn't make any.  Also did the mission where you get rushed by minotaurs at the start, that was a pain until I remembered the Wizard's Tower can do things.

I think I will try, again, to finish Battletech, I will get this over with and then forget about it forever 😛  Also need to knock Phantom Doctrine off my list as well.
