-Damaged Toys:

80s toys lying around broken in the backyard. Need some speciffic crafted parts to work again.

EXAMPLE: A typical action figure, like a boxer, who when repaired can deliver a devastating blow to any insect that is lured to his mechanical fist, like a trap.

After some uses the makeshift parts are broken and you need to repair them again.

love this!  finally a way to kill those wolf spiders without ground or other exploits :)

Wolf Spiders are hard to kill unprepared and it okay

But in the future with bigger, stronger and meaner boss insect (If the game decided to add it) the action figure trap would be nice or anything environmental item/thing trap or something would be awesome

For  Construction, some quality of life suggestions :

1. An ability to label storage containers would be really nice

2. Maybe trim the walls and doors down that so don't create a trip hazards in the next level built over them.

3. Please trim down the size just a touch of the Bounce Web and the Spike Trap , so they more easily fit on a single square without conflicting with side walls.

For gameplay, some Transport system ideas:

1. Grappling hook line fired from the bow.

2. Zipline, initially fired from a homemade ballista. Once set up could quickly transport players from a high point down towards the ground. over a great distance.

3. Rowboats improvised using the leaves floating on the pond

4. Gliders made from the wings of various insects (Ladybug, Bees, Butterflies etc)

5. An underground storm-drain traversing the entire yard - to provide a quick travel feature

For Creatures:

1. Dragonflies, an aerial predator patrolling the Pond

2. Fireflies, to give us a reason to hunt at night

3.  Some non-insectiod fauna. Maybe a tiny skink only slightly larger than a wolf spider?

Cheers then

Is there somewhere in the storyline that mentions we are in the 80s?

i like this one except the raw science markers.  those are supposed to be hidden and found as you explore.  Not everything should be given to you.

lol

i like the map they linked.  i just don't think raw science markers should be included in the in game map.  some of the other markers on that linked map would be useful, after you find them in the game of course.

Of course raw science of course after finding it be saved in map, not from the start that would be silly.

your post said raw science.  once you collect it, it's gone, unless the devs do a reset on it again, so the only way to have it on your map idea would be at the beginning :)

Just made a reply to another post that might work for this.

a rain storm.  flash floods, mudslides, new ponds that would dry up after x days in game time.

mudslides would happen on slopes like from the oak tree down and the ant hill.  Flash floods in the ravines around the yard, and low places.

High winds could possibly blow you around, you'd need to find some kind of shelter, a cave, or shelter made of stem wall construction.  Plank walls destroyed, sturdy walls damaged, possibly destroyed, especially if they were above the top of the grass.  A chance of hail from that storm to cause further havoc 😄

Bugs would also be looking for shelter, so you might have to battle them if they try coming into your cave or whatever.

could have the rewards as some unique crafting material you won't get otherwise blown into the yard, with a timer on how long it lasts.  Like maybe a female household member was on the picnic table sewing when the storm came up and her box with a couple needles blew out into the yard.  needles could be used for tier 3 spears, or hammered and sharpened to use as swords.  We'd need a forge in the game then, which could open a whole bunch of other options.

One thing i've been thinking about for metal and crafting is if they'd give us the ability to harvest rubber form electrical cables, and wire also.  the insulation and wire could come from the outlet on the house.  Tier 2 axe could cut off some insulation to use baring the wires, then chop the wires to forge them into items.
