Fallout New Vegas - Brave New World

Hey guys, hope life is treating y'all good :)

I just wanted to pop back on here and spread some awareness for this audio and NPC redesign mod for New Vegas, made by the same guy that did NV-Redesigned. It's an extensive recast and re-recording of the audio for many many NPCs. I now a good handful of you still play the old game from time to time, so I thought you'd be interested. It's seriously like playing a new game!

I was just thinking of reinstalling New Vegas. If the cool bald man likes it then it's probably good and I'll give it a go.

If you can't trust Ming the Merciless, who can you trust?

They may call him Merciless, but we all know less is more!

Impressive quality. May I ask - what was the reason for replacing the original VO?

EDIT. NVM, found explanation in the mod description. I might give it a go. 2nd NV playthrough is long overdue.

So what is a good list of mods to use with Brave New World, if one was going to start a new playthrough today?

For a minimalist run, I'd recommend the JSaywer Ultimate Edition together with his recommened list, that you feel match your play style.

If you want an extremely comprehensive guide, but still modular guide for installing a crapton of mods, I went through this https://vivanewvegas.github.io/index.html

But be warned it takes a few hours (at least) to do. The result however is spectacular.

I tried it... They changed easy Pete's voice and I did not like it.  When that's one of the first voice changes you hear... Kinda turned me off the whole thing

Also I had subtitles on and nothing matched(on changed voices). Which might be me installing wrong but probably they didn't change the text

Load order is extremely important. Your Fallout: New Vegas vanilla master files must be in the correct order. Otherwise, you may find that subtitles do not match the Brave New World revoices.

Ah okay.  Still... Didn't like the voice...  Could be just nostalgia, but I much prefer Easy Pete's old voice.  Also I use vortex which is weird for load order... I'm pretty new to modding so vortex is simple and easy but I tend to always have some little issue

I lvoe and hate Vortex, it's easy as you say, but if you want to use custom load orders it starts to dig in it's heels.

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Mencken

Also it duplicates all the files (I think?). It ends up taking a ton of disk space on my rather small ssd...

You can, for some games, keep the mods on a separate disk and automatically copy the files with each "deploy".
