So many different offshoot companies have been created in recent years it's hard to keep track of them all. But as far as I know, none has yet come out with an actual game (at least among RPG studios). So I have to wonder how many of these will actually amount to anything.

inXile and DoubleBear jump to my mind as an offshoot comapany, and both of them already produced games. But yes, very few have released something already after the split.

Haven't heard of DoubleBear, but for inXile are you speaking of it as an offshoot of Black Isle?

I was thinking more in terms of the many tiny little offshoot studios that have been created by somewhat well-known figures leaving big studios in the past few years.

Leader is Brian Mitsoda afaik.

inXile I was thinking more as an offshoot of Interplay. From newer offshoots, I remember only one japanese guy (dont remeber his name) from Konami who made Bloodstained, but that is no RPG. There might be some more people who released stuff already, but I really do not remember :(

This looks like an interesting twist on the typical CRPG game :)

Wow... that was bad. Quake II looks like infinitely more fun to replay than a game of *this* 😔

That's pretty bad. 😬

I don't know, it looks about what I'd expect of a VR game.

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. In a way I'm glad it's not a SoB hentai game.

Trying to get into Divinities again. Well, the second one to be clear, first one I loaded up, concluded I don't care about anything in there and uninstalled it for good. Managed to leave that dreadful tutorial island in the second one, I do hope the game gets more interesting after it. Or at least cuts the annoying backtracking and even more annoying annoyances that fancy themselves puzzles.

What's wrong with SaveAFox?

I mean, Finnegan has a cute laugh.

Oh, absolutely nothing. SaveAFox was my daily happy pill through 6 months of COVID isolation. Finnegan is the star. Now I know what does the fox say. It’s “he he he he he”. I wanted a fox until I saw this video. Mink is dope though. I always wanted a ferret.

I actually had a better time with D:OS1 then D:OS2.

I actually thought the first chapter was the best in D:OS2. 2nd was by far my least favourite. Just remember to upgrade your inventory after every level up as jump in power between each level is significant. And there are a lot of levels to go through in chapter 2.

Well, there go last molecules of my already thin, lukewarm enthusiasm. :getlost: I guess BG3 gonna be 75%, not 50% discount off GOTY purchase, and that's only because of that blowjob diagram.

Yeah I quit sometime in 2nd chapter on my first playthrough. Finished full play through as BG3 research some months ago. I love the engine, but not campaign. I do like what I see from BG3 so far. D:OSs just become very barren if you don't have a co-op buddy. It seems like they are putting more effort into NPCs this time around.

Yo! Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid and MGS2 are available on GOG. According to some reviews "port" isn't superb, but as someone who never had chance to play those games I am genuily interested.

I mean, it's Konami; I would have been shocked if they put any more effort than the absolute bare minimum into these ports.

It's seems to be done by GOG. According to reviewers the games are just set up in an emulator, rather then natively made work for PC. Which is unfortunate, but that's better then nothing.

After restoring classics like Blade Runner and Diablo, we bring you some of the best KONAMI classics in versions that are fully playable on modern computers.

Snake does have fine taste in handguns that's for sure.  I own the Beretta (modified updated version) and if I were to own a .45 I'd think we have a 'solid' candidate.

Haven't played any 'Metal Gear' game since Metal Gear Solid, replayed it several times at launch and never played it again.  Doubt I'd pick it up on GOG though, kinda wish they'd release the Resident Evil's with higher res and framerate.  I'd gladly pay the $6 or whatever rather than jungle hunting the right files to fix the image quality.

MGS and MGS2 had real PC releases. I'm guessing that's them?

Win95/98 era? Some of those had odd hardware access set ups and are notoriously hard to get working in modern windows, and iirc MGS' windows port wasn't renowned for its stability at the time either.

They'd actually teased MGS coming to GOG a week or so ago. Now they just have to bring some of other games they've teased historically like the Rocksteady Batman games and CiV.

Dunno, I played MGS1 and 2 a lot on PC back then. I actually never played these games on console. Only for MGS2 I had to install some patch if I remember right, but everything else worked.
