somebody gets apoplectic angry 'bout south park scientology jokes and we draw tentative conclusion the person is either a follower o' scientology, and/or is a person who will be offended by many o' our personal opinions 'bout scientology. depending on the nature o' our relationship, we will take the crude litmus test o' measured offense and decide whether or not to discuss scientology in the person's presence.

'Faded away into a dark nightmare': North Korea says diplomacy with Trump has failed

Quote

North Korea on Friday said it was abandoning attempts to pursue a diplomatic relationship with the White House because two years after a historic handshake between President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un "even a slim ray of optimism" for peace and prosperity on the Korean peninsula had "faded away into a dark nightmare."

already were. edward g. robinson, an excellent actor who were unfortunate typecast a bit too often, were advocating civil rights reform and championing an end to workplace discrimination based on race way back in the 1940s.  more vocal support such as his back in the 40s and we might not be where we are today.

he also had an extensive private art collection, but am not sure how relevant such is.

guy had gravitas even playing a scene with mcqueen, malden, calloway and ann-margret, 'mongst others.

...

am also a big fan o' karl malden, but am honest not aware o' his political activities or skew. could show his famous on the waterfront scene, which would also be relevant in its own way.

a few degrees o' separation makes near anything relevant if you got a little imagination and a bit o' trivia-level knowledge.

USA now have a simulation of a socialist state in CHAZ "free state". The walls have been built almost immediately, there are violent thugs extorting people, they use massive deportations and don't allow immigrants, the food has run out and the "governmental" farming looks like this (article is in Polish, but the tweets are English so the context is clear):

I am pleased to announce my secession from the United States. From now on my 26.5 acres will be known as the Southern Hatchee Independent Territory. I considered abbreviating that but the Minister of Tourism feels it might not make a good impression. On behalf of myself, Vice President Sunny Smiles and Representative Duke, Speaker of the Hen House of Representatives we would like to welcome all tourists to visit the Southern Hatchee Independent Territory. No passports are required. Entry tax is 1 bottle of Bourbon whiskey (products of Kentucky are preferred) and the willingness to share said bottle with the President of the Territory.

The Southern Hatchee Independent Territory is not open for immigration at this time.

Hey, if those s--t heads in Seattle can do it so can I!

Police walk back report that Capitol Hill protesters extorted businesses

edit: oh, and the one (1) guy that was "deported" actually asked to be escorted out by folks there (around timestamp 50:00) after they found out who he is. Once the screeching idiots left, he had a fairly calm and respectful exchange with some of them until he decided he'd had enough and walked out. Doesn't seem to me that there would be anything preventing him from going back in if he wanted to.

Do you accept European asylum seekers?

Additionally, is it legal to pet the vice president?

Trump cancelled his Juneteenth rally, which was a bit of a surprise. I mean, credit is deserved for being willing to make a change to something. Still has quite a ways to go though.

I hate to say this but I had no clue that was even a thing until folks starting bitching about the rally date.

Vice President Smiles would like to assure all visitors of the Southern Hatchee Independent Territory that all gestures of affection and friendship expressed to the Senior Leadership will be returned in kind. Additionally she wishes to inform all visitors to the capital that any food items that land on the floor are the exclusive prerogative of the Vice President.

It also appears that public crime data contradicts the police narrative about rape reports (only crimes reported are theft, vandalism, assault, and aggravated assault). Who could have foreseen the government lying?

His administration also rolled back LGBT protections with healthcare providers...on the anniversary of the Pulse nightclub massacre. There's someone who knows dogwhistles involved in this administration, probably Miller.

You almost had me sold. But then you had to go and declare yourself president. Alas, it seems no one is immune to the lure of power. Reflect. Think about what you are doing. A peaceful transfer of power to someone who you know is much better suited for the job is still possible. Resign, and let Sunny bear that burden. For your sake. For all our sakes.

No way do I put her in charge! She is strictly there for voter appeal. If/when I abdicate Rep. Duke would be a much better successor. That SOB already figures he owns this place.
