We don't get Bahnhof in the US, thanks to our own version of corporate socialism that guarantees monopolies for the big firms.

Yeah, the US is baffling at times.

I really like Bahnhof. The Swedish Security Service had a meeting with the CEO of Bahnhof about getting direct automatic access to all ISP's and phone companies telephone and emails in secret, he recorded the entire conversation and after saying no to the agreement he gave the recording to the media which ended up in the department head of SSS being called to the justice department for a hearing.

Good ****. 😄

I just commited a completely untested hotfix to our production system that touches two seperate processes, one of them business critical and happening over night, meaning quite frankly right now during night shift.

I'm thinking about ordering this:

I've just updated the database in production to get an issue resolved as I've done, several times now.  Found out later I am supposed to get approval for that but...eh.  SaaS sucks ass, good for the client I guess but means I have to deal with pointless change approval boards, several dozen KeePass stores (THAT MUST NOT BE SHARED WITH ANYONE), etc.

So I quit my 'Blue' job and am looking for a 'Green' job.  Luckily with Covid-19 I have tons of dough saved up so I can get more involved in my community (with a face mask of course).

I decided that I better live the way I vote, or I risk running into contradictions.

Wish me luck, comrades!

I don't know if multiclassing a mechanic and a druid is a good thing but good luck to ya.

My wife cuts my hair and I dye hers.  Now that she works at home, she realizes her hair isn't as grey as she thought.  At first it was like, "I'll have you dye it right before the big meeting."  Now it's, "we can wait until I go back to the classroom."  lol

Just a quick aside:  you're a real bastard, giftd!  You and your full head of hair.  Mine's getting pretty thin.

Hope everyone is staying safe.

Heh, actually Ive got a luscious full head of hair. Male pattern baldness is one thing I dont have to worry about.

Same here. If anything, If I neglect the haircut for too long, I end up with "Microphone" hair, looking like some 70's relic. Never mind that I am some 70's relic 😛

This sounds like a stunt to see who is paying attention. At 4 PM on Friday we get a notification for a all hands conference call at 8 AM on Monday. I'm curious how many people won't be on because they didn't see the notification. Which I suspect was the point...

There is nothing to do. Your only option is to drink 10 vanilla coke and 5 fanta wildberries.

Seppuku is also acceptable, infact it is the more popular choice.

I'm in upstate NY and it's snowing... today... RIGHT NOW... ON MAY 9TH! I lived in Connecticut for 30 years and the latest I ever saw snow was April 19th or 20th or so.

* Global pandemic

* Trump about to be reelected

* Snow on May 9th

We really are in The End Times... 😱

Dear Lord up in heaven, I haven't always been the best person...

Today was sunny , so I wrapped myself up in old clothes and facemask, and painted fibreglass resin onto 3d printed armour pieces out in the backyard...

Also realised, that with the basic exercise equipment at home, and the benefits of being able to order groceries online instead of going up to the supermarket.. I actually haven't left the house in a month.

Make a silicone mold out of those 3D printed pieces and cast them in something lighter. Also, Wood Filler is your friend.

Finally got around to ordering ATT's 1GB fiber net plan, installing Monday. Hubby was able to get the multiple separate IP's he needs and there's no bandwidth limits and the upload speed is same as D/L speed - the price could go up in a year or two, who knows, but it's all right.

I don't even care if for some reason we only end up with half of that speed most of the time. It would still be blazin' faster than what we have now. Maybe I can be not "afraid" of the increasing nutter size of video game downloads now ... for a few years.  Does Steam cap their user download speed?  😛

That's the back section of armour, as raw freshly printed PLA and just the first basic sanding to get rid of the immediate rough edges.

* Yes, some builder's putty to fix a crack as seen there as well.

Now all coated with fibreglass resin, and a couple of layers of filler primer. So potentially breaking out the mouse sander tomorrow and seeing what other small holes and gaps might need putty and filler. And re-smoothing.

Hand sanding or do you have a handheld automatic sander?

A bit of both.  The mouse sander is a nice hand held power sander.  But I also do a bit of fine sanding by hand on certain areas (although I probably won't need that with those back pieces). Normally a very brief bit with something 120-200 grade, then mostly with the 400. If it really needs a delicate touch, I'll do some wet sanding with 1000 grade sandpaper.

The combo of fibreglass resin and primer filler actually fills out a lot of the print lines, so that actually reduces the amount of sanding to get a smooth finish.

With 3d printed PLA, the thing is that if you do sand it too agressively, it doesn't actually come off, just melts and spreads around. So a little bit different technique to sanding other materials.
