Which MLB team has fielded the most Cy Young winning seasons?

The Cleveland Spiders

Cy Young had 240 wins with them over 9 years! :D

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll show myself out.

I wonder if a shorter season will be more exciting?  I've often thought that the expanding of sports seasons (NBA and MLB in particular) have made things less interesting (along with the increasing length of games to showcase commercials).

Because I need something, anything to cheer me up, here's a nun throwing the first pitch at a White Sox game and painting the corner:

The International Association of Professional Baseball Players was a minor league circuit that operated in Canada & the USA  from 1877 to 1880. Some famous minor league teams played in this league like the Syracuse Stars and Buffalo Bisons, Two teams continued to play in other leagues into modern times. One is the Guelph Maple Leafs. They went on into the Intercounty League, the Ontario Baseball Association semi-pro league, Class D Ontario League (affiliated), then finally the amatuer summer Intercounty Baseball League where they have played in a number of small cities in Canada. They finally folded in 2017 as the Guelph Royals.

The other team from the International Association is still operating. Who it is:

A) London Tecumsehs

B) Columbus Buckeyes

C) Pittsburgh Alleghenies

D) Lynn Live Oaks

Spoiler

Pittsburgh Alleghenies only you know them today as the Pittsburgh Pirates

Q: What's the best play in baseball?

Is it a double steal? Nope.

Inside the park home run? Pretty great, but nope.

A: It's the eephus:

Fun fact: While there are stories of the origin of "eephus", no one knows for certain where the name comes from.

Well the owners and MLBPA could not agree on... well anything really. So the owners are imposing 60 game season with pro-rated pay. Basically their last and best offer. Let the Union BS begin...

Guessing you support the slavers? The players already agreed to take way less than they were originally entitled to. I find it funny people are willing to support billionaires over millionaires especially when it is clear the billionaires are the ones being evil. LMAO

Yeah right. I'm "pro-slavery" Deo Vindice MF'ers

The MLBPA has received everything it has asked for in the last proposal. The only sticking point was the number of games to be played. The difference was 10 games and Manfred offered to split the difference. They refused. There was no offer they were going to take. This is not about getting baseball back and it was not negotiated in good faith. This is about a unfair labor practice grievance, a subsequent law suit, the MLB's anti-trust exemption, and a future multi-million (or billion) dollar future settlement. This was just dirty pool all around.

Maybe it didn't start that way. The owners surely tried to low ball them in the beginning and reneged on a deal made the moment the season was suspended. That was a s--t play too. But after that the MLBPA saw an opportunity to f--k the owners over and never acted in good faith after. But when you finally get everything you ask for and THEN move the goal posts? To hell with all of them.

Hey I have nothing against unions. Even this one.  I despise exclusive representation and mandatory membership. I am 1000% "right to work". THAT is how unions become organized crime, when they can't be avoided. But as long as it's membership is voluntary I am pro union.

Heck at this point I don't even care. OOTP Baseball didn't get suspended. I'm playing the 1963 Giants and we are 64-31. Bobby Bolin in having a Cy Young worthy season and with Felipe & Matty Alou & Willie Mays I have the deadliest outfield in the National League.

Teams with good rosters and short depth have a chance to excel in a 60 Game season. I like the Rays chances.

I always liked Matt Williams. Good heart of the order type with Clark and Mitchell, and later Bonds. Certainly wasn’t the a$$ that Kent and Huff were.

stopped watching baseball in 1995 after the strike year. were only painful in 2005(?) as we didn't get to appreciate a white sox world series.

...

is passing strange that covid-19 will have us following mlb for firstest time in ~25 years. has been a long time since we were genuine curious 'bout baseball, which am recognizing is the result o' a flaw in Gromnir character. nevertheless, will be... interesting.

for all we know, 2020 baseball looks like blernsball.

HA! Good Fun!

sure. we were a physics undergrad.

am knowing you is unlikely to watch the whole thing, but the old connections shows were fantastic.

launch angle at 8:40-

...

am after the fact recognizing how our reference may be weird. is at least mildly autistic to take your launch angle comment and reference a few moments o' a tv show which likely ain't been aired, not even on pbs, since the 80s.

HA! Good Fun!
