Why do vithracks ignore Prayer Against Bewilderment?

And not just that really.  That seem to ignore "Prayer Against X" spells in general.  The only one that consistently works is the counter to fear.  Otherwise, I cast these buffs and they may as well not exist.  I still get confused, petrified, or whatever anyway.

What gives?
