Agatha Christie: Hercule Poirot: The First Cases (needs more colons). I didn't even realize that a new Poirot game had come out (last year). While the world's greatest detective (Poirot > Holmes don't @ me) has had a spotty history in video games, I'm a sucker for detective games. As a bonus, this is an original story and isn't based on any of the books.

Frank Drebin > Poirot > Holmes

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous was on a 45% sale on GOG. Got that and some Ashes DLC (which was on a less impressive sale, but nevermind).

Now I just need to find the time to play it (since I got myself into a game of Tyranny the other day)

Edit: Core game was 50% off, DLC was 20something% off, somehow the total was calculated as 45% as some kind of average

Atelier Sophie 2 for PS4. Could not resist the 20% discount on Amazon, after the game was sold out for more than a month 😋

It's out of early access, so for $12 (slight sale) I bought Gedonia.

It looks like an old school flavor (late 90's/early 2000's I mean) open world RPG with lots of exploring and simple quests, factions (where your stats/build affect options available). And there's a house somewhere you can make yours, or something. The voice acting is supposed to be often pretty bad and there may be some bugs/performance hitching but I think I can handle that. I would like some "old school-ish" rpg/arpg gameplay, vs. the modern stuff, so am willing to try.  😛

I bought Miles Morales and Devil in Me. Since I should be playing Pentiment, this feels like a bad idea.

Seeing Pentiment in a few posts I finally actually looked it up. Didn't realize it was an Obsidian/Sawyer game. Looks intriguing. Guess I shall wishlist it now, for whenever I feel like playing some games again.  😄

Yeah, Terror from the Deep is pretty good, even if it was an unnecessary sequel and is just more of the same with even more difficulty. But 17€ for a mid 90ies game? :p

Oh, wait... :-

Well I was unfortunately speaking about the new generation XCOMs :) I have spent a lot of time with the classics, when I was much more younger 😄 Unfortunately, I have never found any fondness for the Apocalypse.

Apocalypse seems to have aged the worst out of the originals. It would be interesting to see a modern version of Xcom 3, with the futuristic setting.

Although I also would be happy to see TFTD. Firaxis has already done a spinoff, so I would think they could do a deep sea one.

Speaking of the classics, I think Xenonauts 2 is close to open beta. The game is already very solid in alpha.

Since I'm on an isometric kick I scooped Pathfinder: WotR to play after I finish my current run of Grim Dawn. I'm assuming I don't need to play Kingmaker first (I haven't), right?

Nope.

Edit: No need to play Kingmaker first. Only some minor references.

Steam is having a Spike Chunsoft sale so I scooped up AI: The Somnium Files: nirvanA Initiative. I played the first game last year and thoroughly enjoyed it; I like almost everything Spike Chunsoft develops, largely due to how dark and twisted they like to get. It wasn't quite as good as the Zero Escape games, but very few things are as good as the Zero Escape games.

HELP

Tokyo Necro, since I'm actually a big fan of Nitroplus VNs.

Stellaris: First Contact, since I'm a Stellaris addict.

Paranormasight, because horror VNs with good ratings end up getting bought by me even if I never have time (but I'm making time)

Your Turn to Die, because indie early access horror VNs with good ratings end up getting bought by me even if I never have time. Seriously, I have at least 4 others and have touched only 1. This is an addiciton.

And you know that Very Positive indie bundle of 26 games? I saw two games that looked funny and got that too.

Gold Box Classics: The Dark Sun Series

While I loved the setting, I remember the UI being pretty bad when I played them back in the early '90s. I can't imagine they've aged well at all.

I loved them back in the day, but I tried to play one of the few Gold Box games I didn't play back when I was a wee lad, Champions of Krynn, a few years ago and I just couldn't do it. I've gotten used to modern GUIs and I can't bring myself to take that many steps back.
