TOW and CV.  Both easily GOTY material, along with maybe RE2 remake.

I found out Death Stranding is released. Bought it for crazy 70 bucks (console prices are ridiculous). Played some 10 minutes and watched about 30 mins of cutscenes. Yup, seems like a Kojima game.

PS: Am I the only one who finds console text way too small? Death Stranding is yet another game where I can barely read the text. Especially the hints are so small, I find myself guessing the buttons. It's not like I have a small tv... It's really just complete garbage hud design. Annoyed me already in RDR2 and other console games.

I defeated Gilded Hunter in my Code Vein NG+ run. I lost count how many attempts it took me to do it. I expected this to be really difficult as this was one of the hardest bosses in the game for me in the standard run. I'd say that this is either the second or the third hardest boss in the game. Skull King is definitely the hardest for my money. That's going to be a really brutal and frustrating battle, if I make it that far.

Edit: Defeated Successor of the Claw first try. I don't know if it's just my build but that battle was shockingly easy after Gilded Hunter. 3 successors down, 1 to go.

I'm on Byzantium in Outer Worlds.  The story has taken an interesting turn.  I've been hard on the writing, but there have been some laugh out loud moments and, overall, I can tell they really went for campy and fun.  I get the impression that maybe the story is starting to get more 'serious' at this point.  I've done a lot of companion quests.  Parvati's are kind of expensive.  I save intimidation checks for hardcore characters, so I'll bargain down for Parvati's needs, but I won't intimidate or shake people down to lower the price.  Parvati is hands down my favorite at this point.  Next would be Nyoka.  I'm playing on the default difficulty and the battles are simply fluff.  They're literally not serious.  I honestly can't see why anyone would need to lower the difficulty for this game.  The combat on the default setting aspires to trivial.  I think, at higher difficulties, I would have to be far more discerning in which companions I chose to attend me during my missions.

I started up Destiny 1. I see kind of why it was trashed when it launched. Stuff just happens and not much time is spent acknowledging why you're doing any of it. You just get a new mission and you go shoot stuff, with the Ghost talking abit about things you didn't know you were there for.

But the maps are interesting. They feel bigger than Destiny 2's. Since I visited 1's moon and saw it was the same map, I've had to conclude this is an illusion. The lower camera angle and slower movement must make it look bigger.

Illusion or not, I like it. The world feels more detailed too. Though it seems like it lacks for the lost sectors that 2 has. And the lack of a map helps sell that the world is bigger.

If it's true in real life, it's even truer in a computer game:  perception is reality.  I don't know anything about Destiny.  I've not played it, but manipulating our experience by perspective, lighting, and speed are all ways of creating a feel and experience in any computer game.

I'm playing on hard and I'd be confident I could solo just about every encounter if I had to. My companions die every once in a while but I don't think I've died in combat once except for blowing myself up with mines- and that's with minimal investment in combat skills.

I suspect it would be a lot harder with a controller rather than mouse though.

I think I'm one of the few people who preferred Destiny 1 to Destiny 2.  Even the story I felt was better (though not exactly good) in the first one.

Sailing through act 2 of pillars 2 ... having quite a good time .. wanted to start a game today and my computer after 8 or so years of duty finally gave up... seems like all those viruses from porn pages rotted it away as windows are unable to find winload.exe and dont start. I was hoping it would hop until cyberpunk.. I am very sad

Completed Double Cross. It was a quite good platformer - diverse non-repetitive levels, tight controls, interesting story.

Tried Hollow Knight, reached the first boss, realized that I need to see boss' healthbar, otherwise battles quickly become irritating. The controls are good, but the game does not support 5-button mice.

Another game from Stasis universe finished today: CAYNE: Deluxe Edition. It was as good as previous, although much shorter. The puzzles were less complicated, although few of them gave me headaches, while trying to solve them :). The ending was this time much more predictable, but it did not spoiled my enjoyment of the game.

Started Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Defeated the Pursuer and the Last Giant, reached the Bastille.

The first ten minutes of the game I spent trying to configure the controls. Either Razer Synapse deleted my previous setting for Dark Souls for the Razer Mamba or I used the DeathAdder for DSII in 2016.

Outer Worlds has been great fun.  I only have two quests in my main quest tree.  I did about half of the game so far without knowing that I could set my quest markers by double clicking the quest.  Did quite a few quests without it, but it's much easier with markers.  I have only one complaint about the quests.  The stupid quest where you model different outfits for the tailor.  I got the iconoclast and marauder sets easily, one by buying and one by farming.  The Spacer's Choice was infuriating.  I bought different sets that didn't work.  Finally, I actually looked it up and the set that worked doesn't even explicitly say Spacer's Choice.  Stupid!  However, if I'd just kept doing what I was doing, I probably would have gotten it anyhow since I was just buying sets of armor and trying them on for the chick.  Anyhow, final quest completion reward for the full line is pretty damned awesome!  I think choices for gear and whatnot would make much more of a difference on higher difficulties.  As it is now, I just roll over the enemy like Fred Flintstone's bowling ball.  I do like to sneak up and take folks out with a one shot from my sniper rifle.  Takes more time than bum rushing them, but I might replay the game again on harder levels and I want to keep good habits.

I finished Outer Worlds.  The last battle was actually tough.  Both of my companions, Parvati and Nyoka, went down.  I got it on the first try, but this was pretty much the only fight I couldn't steamroll.  I got what I'm sure is the ideal ending.  I found a game ending bug, but I looked up a work-around.  I'd post it, but it's clearly already known, hence the work around.  Many thanks to whoever figured it out.  I considered one solution, but I wanted as little killing as possible.  Now that I think back on it, I wouldn't mind knocking off some more one particular faction.  ...And marauders.  Can never off too many marauders.  Anyhow, everyone was happy hunky dory at the end and all was well that ended well.  This was a quite a good game.  I'm glad I played Deadfire because I probably would have put off buying ToW.  One great Obsidian game led me to another, and now my gaming meter has been recharged.

I first played Chaos Gate back when it released in 1998. The game bugged out on me and I lost all progress. The next playthrough attempt it bugged out on the second mission.

Today, 21 years later, I finally completed it.

I think I can go on with my life now 😛

Beat Disco Elysium and Outer Worlds in a short time, one after another. Will be seriously slowing down now, before Phoenix Point releases in December.

Meantime I finally installed Hollow Knight. Didnt' spend too much time with it, but I am liking it more then I expected. Metroidvania isn't always my thing, but I am really enjoying this one. It learned some good lessons from Dark Souls and has couple neat ideas of its own. And an excellent art style.

Ah! Finally beat that one not so long ago. I must say, I didn't enjoy this one much. Hopefully DS3 will be better.

Dark Souls 3 is the best in regards to character building and creativity but some hardcore fans of the series were put off by the less nuanced approach it takes towards completion.  I beat 'em all but have the most hours invested in 3 so that should be telling.

I've never tried Dark Souls, but I keep seeing people post about it.  I'm sure that means I'll break down and play it somewhere along the line.  I started Disco Elysium, but it hasn't caught me yet.  Granted, I died of a heart attack in the first five minutes trying to reach for my tie.  That was interesting at least.  Haven't had time to play it except for 10 minutes altogether, but I'll probably dabble latter tonight.

TBH nothing beats Bloodborne though, I think it's safe to say that it's the apex of Miyazaki's career.  Really too bad it's a PS4 exclusive.

Yep!  I've wanted to try it for a long time, but not enough to purchase a PS4.  Not a console hater.  Just don't need another piece of equipment cluttering up my house.  Some day they'll port it... I hope.  <.<

I couldn't get into Blooborne at all. Played it for a few hours, but it didn't hook me. Also I hated the character movements... pretty sure it was never that sensitive in any Dark Souls games.

Eh, could be worse: it could have been a timed, one year exclusive. Then things would have been really bad.

Facerolling along in Witcher 3.  Probably will give it a break and try to knock off Tropico 6, which I also faceroll through (I really should stop playing this series, hah).
