I think I have to kinda agree with Volo here.

dwarfs are not dwarfs, black elfs are weird as hell. Masks are super low budget for humanoids, but monster CGI seems ok (Striga was really bad). Token black guy at court was super weird. Triss is awful. I kinda like Henry and Yen is decent and I liked Mouseack? and Jaskier. I also think Ciri is well casted. Big battle scenes were horrible. I think I am spoiled by GoT camera work and effects. I don't know why but a lot of shots in show feels extra cheap and some are pretty solid. It feels like its done 2 completely different directors/cameramans and one of them barely get out of school.  Also that magic  explanation is complete rubbish which they abandoned 5 seconds after that exposition. No idea whats that all about....

I want to like it and as I like Witcher in my mind its maybe even 7 but if I want to be objective its barely 5/10

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

The 'black elves' are meant to be dryads, aren't they?

All elves except the two Geralt and Jaskier met at the valley were casted as black. Like the young one that helped Ciri and the crossbow one in Renfri band.

There were 4 directors in total from what wikipedia tells me, so no wonder.

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Mencken

This is one of the times I disagree with them. I think they're enjoying a turd based on the fact that the other turds set in the same universe are so much smellier.

I'm also surprised neither of them had an issue with Baby Yoda being super force potent diminishing Luke's interaction with him (honestly Yoda, what the hell, you're born with force control beyond anyone else, why bother the poor farm boy?) when they complained about Palpatine's being alive in Rise of Skywalker takes away from Vader's sacrifice.

I can agree with that. I thought the season was really all over the place in terms of pretty much everything but that it is comparitively strong against Disney's other offerings. It also ended on a much better note than it began and especially better than it middled.

Is not perfect tv, but still the best Star Wars I have seen in years.

Also I love listening to these two ripping into Star Wars.

First two episodes of "The Outsider" on HBO (based on yet another S. King novel, unread by me):

Acting is good all around. Super serious atmosphere. Plays like a crime/CSI/detective series initially, with the barest hint of maybe supernatural to come. 2nd episode has an unexpected development (if you haven't read the book anyway) which was interesting. But it is rather glacially paced in favor of a lot of ... brooding? scenes. If you know the book and can't wait for "somethingsomething" to happen in the series, that might help the pacing seems less slow. Still interesting enough to have me wanting to watch more episodes when they're released. That and the lead detective actor. I'm liking him/he fits the given role well.
