Bought Adeptus Mechanicus on GOG a moment ago (together with the Heretek expansion). Both of them between 50 and 65 percent off depending on edition (got the Omnissiah version). Let the galaxy feel the wrench of judgement!

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Drakensang finally released on GOG. I like it more than NWN2 OC, when it was released, just the rules can be little bit complicated sometimes 🙂

Does GoG Galaxy have "native" controller support with games or do you still often need 3rd party to get them to work?  Because it sure didn't work with Outer Worlds when not using Galaxy.

Ah, Drakensang, the game that makes Divinity's and Kingmaker's world building look fresh and iconoclastic and shames the peg-legged-zombie-amble party speed of said two games into Zootopia's sloth oblivion. 🥱

...and yet I look at those char sheets and vaguely NWN2-y screenshots and feel tempted to buy it. Sigh.

I am sorry but I do not know. I have special controller, which supports both legacy and modern input methods, so I have never checked if Galaxy has native support or not, all I need to do is click one button on controller and everything works.

Took a while, it was in the 2016 (?) GOG teaser trailer.

Weirdly enjoyable game Drakensang, I have quite a soft spot for it despite it being almost entirely generic and cliché. River of Time is the one I'm waiting for though.

Sounds like a convenient controller, wish I had one.

That depends entirely on your controller and the game, and the API used. Most games (on Windows) use DirectInput or XInput and some controllers come without support for one or the other, or should work but often don't - that's why it's such a hassle to get the DS3 to work on a PC (although I to this day don't know why anyone would want their thumbs killed by that D-"pad" or the horrible analog stick placements, but to each their own) and the Nintendo Pro has some issues as well.

That's why you need to use some form of third party software to map inputs and translat them into someting the game understands. Steam handles that when it is running. If Outer Worlds supports your controller when Galaxy is running but not when it isn't then Galaxy does the same thing as Steam. I'm pretty sure it didn't in the past though. At least not with my Nintendo Pro.

The actual solution to that problem is getting an XBox Elite. That works with virtually everyone just out of the box. With or without third party software. :p

No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

If XBox Elite is to expensive, I have Speedlink Strike NX wired controller. It supports both DirectInput and XInput. It also works on PS3. It cost me 20EUR and works like a charm.

^  I don't like xbox design/the way the joysticks aren't on the same "line" - makes me hold it not evenly, plus they're fatter. Small hands/short fingers + thumb/forefinger grip arthritis. Xbox makes the arthritis hurt a lot more.  The way they changed the PS5 controller to be fatter and look more like xbox in a way, didn't make me happy.  😄

The Speedlink looks more my speed, it's $35 on Amazon I think.  Hm.  I'm guessing some of the center touchpad functions of the ps4 one wouldn't work with it but would work for most games.  Might try it, thanks.  Edit:  actually seller prices vary from $8-$45.  I can't tell the difference.  😛

That's the whole point why I'm using an Xbox controller and my Nintendo Pro. I have really long fingers and my thumbs constantly get tangled up while using a Dual Shock controller. If I don't want to "angle" my thumbs all the time on most modern controllers that means my thumbs are resting on the thumbstick halfway between the tips and my hand. So kind of in the middle of my thumbs. They're close to touching even on an Xbox gamepad. 😮

I press the A + B buttons the same way. The only exception was the original XBox controller. But that thing was just uncomfortable to hold and way too heavy.

This is usually the point where some Sony fanboy shows up and tells me I'm holding the controller wrong and that's why the Dual Shock is uncomfortable. Not because it has a trash D-Pad and thumbsticks that are way too close to each other because a) Sony didn't want to pay royalties for having a real D-Pad on their original Playstation controller and b) they had to ape thumbsticks from us Master Race people (or Nintendo with the N64 controller) after they noticed that they're a really good idea for games requiring precise input and it was the only place they could put them in on the original design.

:p

To be honest the best gamepad I've ever used was the Gamecube one. The button and thumbstick spacing was really good, it was comfortable enough to hold, light and pretty robust. There's an adaptor for the Switch and new versions that can be used on the PC but... it's probably not worth the hassle (plus only Smash Bros is really officially supported on the Switch, I think).

Yes, I think this is the one, I have the PS button version. If I hold the MODE button for few seconds, it changes from DirectInput to XInput and vice versa. I do not remeber, wich one is the default though 😛

Edit: yes, the last picture shows that it supports both DirectInput and Xinput.

It was delivered a bit ago. Finally downloaded the driver to try it out.  Seems to work, no muss no fuss. A bit lighter weight than the ps4 one (since no wireless battery in it I'd guess), feels ok in my hands for short periods at least.  Dunno how durable it will be, but good enough for using with non-Steam games when I want/need. Thanks!

Glad to be of help 🙂

Edit: before starting gaming with the gamepad, I recommend you to install both drivers needed. First one will install automatically after first plugin, and the second one should install after holding the MODE button for few seconds and releasing it. Just dont press it before the first driver installs sucessfully 🙂

The derpiness of the prospector dwarf makes the entire first game worth playing by itself.

I have no choice but to finally finish it now! Drakensang has been in my queue to play since before 2009. I always start and play a couple hours and put it down. Might have to tough through that intro.

Meanwhile...

It's not so much the kowtowing to Xinnie the Pooh which is the problem- well, it is, though as a business it's certainly at least understandable them not wanting to alienate China- it's thinking that anyone would buy the 'many gamer messages' line.
