What are you playing RIGHT NOW?

Three attempts to play as Athens, none of them ended well in IM:RO. I give up. Now playing as Krokyra a small island city state east of Ilyria. They are tiny,  Just one city with a monarchy. But they don't start the game as anyone's feudatory (meaning bitch).

Step 1: Build a big navy. I built 20 Trimenes and invested in tech and imports that benefit the navy. Macedon declared war and I forced a White Peace by sinking or fighting off every invasion fleet. Hey, it kept England safe and free since 1066.

I thought I was a lot closer to finishing the last mission in Dying Light The Following, but apparently not.  These random tasks just keep going.

The leveling up takes forever, especially when you don't have quests to do.  The side content is lacking in this DLC.

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

With my base nearly complete in Conan Exiles, I've been venturing further away from my home and exploring. I ventured into the far northern desert to hunt some elephants because I needed elephant hide to make some sweet heavy armor. As you can imagine, elephants are no pushovers. They have a metric ****ton of HP and, while their attacks are relatively easy to dodge once you know their patterns, they do a ton of damage if they hit and most of their attacks knock you down. Luckily, The Serpent God rewards the faithful and provides them with a super easy way to kill these lumbering giants. As a follower of Set, I can craft snake arrows. Next, I find my prey elephant and also a rock outcropping or cliff or any high place the elephant can't reach. Then I simply start shooting the elephant with snake arrows. Like all other negative effects in Conan Exiles, poison effects stack. One stack of poison doesn't do that much damage per tick, but stack enough poison on an enemy and their health dwindles very quickly. 10 seems to be the maximum stack size (for poison, anyway, I don't know if the maximum is 10 for bleeding, crippled, sundered, etc.). The way the game works, all stacks share the same timer and applying a new stack resets the timer, so once I have 10 stacks of poison on an enemy, I only need to shoot it once every 7 or 8 seconds, to make sure the poison stacks don't time out. The elephant dies from poison, I climb down the cliff face, harvest the goods, climb back up, find another elephant. Lather, rinse, repeat. Always repeat.

Anyway, after collecting a veritable bounty of elephant hide, tusks, and meat, I started making my way back home, but took a slightly different route this time. On my way, I made a shocking discovery (Top 10 Conan Exiles discoveries, number 7 will SHOCK you). Near a river, someone had the gall to build a shrine to Mitra :x. As a proud and faithful Stygian, Mitra worship is HIGHLY offensive to me, what with their bogus beliefs in "virtue" and "justice", pfft, as if. Naturally, I did what any proper Stygian would do in such a situation and slaughtered all the heretics there, cutting out their hearts to offer to The Old Serpent, except one. In a stroke of mercy, I spared the life of the high priest, instead knocking him unconscious, binding him, and dragging his body all the way back to my base, where I put him in the wheel of pain until I break his mind and show him the heinous error of his ways. Once fully broken and cleansed of his former heretical beliefs, I will allow him to make up for all the wrongs he had committed by serving as a priest at my Shrine of Set, offering blood gifts to The Serpent God and spreading the truth of Set worship.

In the future I will take a few of my warriors and return to that disgusting Shrine of Mitra so that we may reduce it to rubble. For the glory of The Old Serpent!

So uh... I'm still playing Skyrim on Switch. I just found a random inn/mine near Windhelm which lead to a Quest Over The Mountains based on a rumor that a dude in the mine told me. This game should be used as a final exam when teaching people prioritization and focusing on specific tasks, because most would just... Fail outright.

Contradiction, the all video murder mystery.

It's neat, but has some flow issues. It just feels super weird to be visiting the same four houses like twice an hour.

I have just finished my first GT extreme challenge in Assetto Corsa on Medium Difficulty. 1 hour and 5 minutes of Nurburgring GP (30 laps). I am trying out new wheel, from a friend. I made only two mistakes, so I was able to win the race with 6.6s lead.

I got so annoyed with the final boss fight in Dying Light: the Following that I decided to load a previous save and opt for the "kill 'em all" option just to be done with it.

Lost another game of IM:RO. This time as Krokyra. I built a huge Navy which did secure the straits to Erpirus and successfully fought off invasions from Rome, Macedon, and others. I took advantage of an alliance cancellation to take half of Crete, got Rhodes as a feudatory and was getting ready to go on a roll. The problem is with so much shoreline to protect now my huge navy wasn't so huge. A Macedonian fleet moved in on my Capital, during the battle there was naval parity so the 20k troops that were trapped on the mainland walked across and massacred us. That left me with just three cities in Crete that were depleted from war, had food, manpower and iron shortages so I could not rebuild the army. I still had the biggest navy in the game (once consolidated) but losing the capital meant losing all the trade routes and tax on commerce. No way to recover. The economy tanked, the admiral of my navy deserted to Macedon (after the war) and took the damned ships with him. My king dies and civil war broke out among the pretenders to succeed him. All this happened in just five years.

Playing as a single city state in this game in not easy. Can't wait to try it again.

Echo
The game started as a walking simulator and went to horror pretty fast - the locations looked very similar and there was no map. Echoes (enemies) were respawning too often and running past them was not a good idea, but it worked for the second chapter. Movement felt very limited - the avatar kept switching to walking randomly and sprinting was consuming HP. Ironically, the game supported 5-button mice and had correct on-screen prompts for custom key bindings.

I can't refund the game and unlikely to complete it.

It's time to try Pathfinder: Kingmaker again. And it's going a lot better than I remembered. Just beat the Stag Lord and didn't have half the amount of rage issues as I did the first time. Though clearing the camp was still way more metagamey than I prefer. It's impossible to help that in this genre.

And I'm really aching to give Dead Space trilo another play.

I'm trying to finish Numenera that I abandoned months ago. Seeing similarities with Wasteland 2 now when I finished that and not in a good way. Wasteland 2 could get away with bland ciphers for characters who only communicate in "Tell me about X" nested lists, because it fits the theme of "A group of gun and tech specialists go about doing their jobs", but when you want to do something story-driven such a character is major detriment. Most of my enjoyment from setting and ambiance of Numenera is ruined not even by too many unnecessary words but by the protagonist being no personality bland nothingness. Companions being not that interesting isn't helping either. Still, love the setting even if it's often weird just for being weird with no applied purpose.

I picked up The Division 2 today.  I liked, but didn't love, the first game.  Can't remember why I stopped playing.  I think the side content got boring.  Hopefully this one improves upon that.

I'm waiting to finish breaking my tier 4 armorer thrall, Orqina Steeltongue in the wheel of pain, but it takes FOREVER to break a tier 4. I don't really want to venture out too deep into the unknown until she's broken and makes some Flawless Hykarian Raider Armor for me, so I've been passing the time sprucing up my throne room. I now have the entire floor of the throne room covered with hide rugs. I have beds and benches set up, and I've made 10 pillows so far that I've scattered about the floor and beds. I want to make 30 or 40 more pillows and put them all over the throne room so that everyone can be nice and comfy when debauchery is taking place, but I'm out of silk, so I'm going to make a short trek to spider country to farm up some gossamer. By the time I finish farming gossamer, turning it into silk, turning the silk + feathers (I have plenty of those, there are birds all over the island which I turned into my base) into pillows, and tossing said pillows all over my throne room Orqina should be broken and ready to start producing high quality armor for me.

Honestly I've doubled the speed at which Thralls break (I was just twiddling my thumbs waiting for it at some point, looked up the numbers and was like..."Errr, really? 8 hours of real time for a T4 Thrall?!") and halved material costs. Felt fair to me since the game is balanced around multiplayer (and mining rocks got kinda RSI-inducing, not even kidding). I considered halving XP gain too, but it's not as if I've been zooming through the levels so left that alone for now.

I managed to acquire a bunch of Thralls now: 2 warriors, an archer, a cook and I'm breaking a Tier 2 Blacksmith now.

First warrior was just an experiment I did to figure out how the mechanic worked before I attempted the second one which was the warrior that caused my first death (Holding grudges? Me?! Pffff!), the Archer I figured would be useful to man the walls. After those three I started actively looking for profession thralls, (warriors now end up with their hearts sacrificed to Seth and their hides turned into armour, for now), so first one I came across was the cook, then I got jumped by a couple, the husband was a warrior and ended on the altar, the wife was a Tier 2 Blacksmith and is enjoying the Wheel of Pain now ;)

Personally I've been dying a lot lately, it seems that as soon as I start bleeding I may as well prepare for a corpse run, nothing I've found appears to stop the effect and since taking damage cancels heals I can't even spam food, so RIP. Fighting someone with daggers means I need to do it close enough so I can get back in time from the corpse run to rip out their heart, flay them and nab the loot.

Bandages can stop bleeding, but you can't get that feat til lev 20 something. Status effects like bleeding and poison are king in Conan Exiles, it's what makes snake arrows so good and also why I favor war axes (shieldsmash + bleed) for melee weapons. Keep in mind that only heavy attacks proc melee weapon special abilities, light attacks don't. I've killed big bad bosses that were probably meant for a group of 3 or 4 lev 40+ chars solo by hopping up on a high ledge and just shooting them with snake arrows. It may take a long time, but that 10 stack of poison kills them eventually.

Devil May Cry 2
Completed the game as Lucia. It was slightly more entertaining, than Dante's campaign (excluding the underwater missions). The plot seemed more intense and there were less secret missions.
Out of curiosity, how the player was supposed to find them in DMC2 without a guide? By interacting with all walls on their way?

So, I noticed some classic rpg's available on mobile/google-play. Like Baldur's Gate Enhanced, KOTOR, others. They're 7-10 bucks. Has anyone ever played those on a phone/tablet, touch-screen only? Controlling and telling a whole party what to do with a touch screen sounds ... annoying. I barely do 30min-1 hr at a time of the FFXV Pocket Ed. because of that and that app is pretty automated (you only get to control Noct, special moves of other bro's is randomly automated, unlike in the PC game).

I know you can buy mini joysticks or something for tablets, but since I'm always at home there's no point in going to that trouble for a mobile device since if I want more than touchscreen I'd just play on the desktops or ps4 instead. Thus wondering about touchscreen, for such games, only.

Sounds like bad design. Although, it could be one of those cases where they made secrets intentionally obscure to sell strategy guides. I believe that used to be a thing.

Anyways! I got Sekiro last night. Time to see what all the hype is about...

I'm still stuck in Fallout 4, I played less than in the other Fallouts. I found my childhood game: Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail!
I have a fondness for this game, but this is not really a logic game. Sometimes a solution is needed, but the game itself is quite ingenious. Well, I remembered looking for cucumbers 🙂
