Well, given that MS also owns inExile, and that they will soon release Wasteland 3 as a turn-based isometric RPG (like the last one), I'm feeling confident that Obsidian will be able to release a Pillars of Eternity 3 as we know and love, but better if they wish to.

I am also sure that POE 3 will be the next big project from Obsidian

No it won't. Sawyer has made it very clear he wants a nice long break from PoE

They can make PoE3 without Sawyer.  Sawyer wasn't even the director the PoE2 DLCs.

They can, but they won't.

But there's no harm in holding on to your dream.

Feel free to show your proof kid.  But even if you don't show any proof, there is no harm holding on to your dream either.

Kid? Rigggght.

My dream? I'm a backer of both PoE games whereas you're not.

Proof? You made the claim. I merely rejected it. Burden of proof's on you ... kid.

I would play a historical RPG - sounds fun tell me more ... actually I would play any RPG from Obsidian :) not really into first person games so will skip TOW.  Why not a D&D 5e game, I mean purely speculating but Microsoft could definitely afford the license rights ...

One has to be coming down the pipeline sooner or later, am curious if Larian is working on it though??

Well, of course my *dream* is a true successor to Neverwinter Nights 1/2, but I think another entry in the jade empire IP could be cool

Larian has "Project Gustav" in the works and, during a recent Internet spasm about a possible BG3, confirmed they're NOT working on a D&D game.

Doesn't Microsoft have the Shadowrun IP? Would love a Shadowrun game from Obsidian.

Or even better POE3 - and it goes down in history as the greatest RPG ever made - for the rest of time.  Obsidian eventually purchases Microsoft, Blizzard and Activision - oh, and eventually re-hires Chris Avellone allowing him to make his own games which they make exclusive to the storefront they launch in 2025 - game over.

Something new hopefully. Do we really need never ending sequels?

Also, people talking about a sequel to The Outer Worlds before the game is even out!? Come on get a grip.

I keep thinking Microsoft has the Mechwarrior license, that was Microprose, like 20 years ago.

Doesn't Microsoft have all the FASA licenses still? I thought they just leased (or whatever the correct term is) it out to HBS for Shadowrun and Battletech and Piranha for Mechwarrior

Just checked the MW5 website and it says Microsoft at the bottom

Yep.  New for me as well.  Enough with the sequels.
