Which & why

Seven: Days Long Gone - I was utterly disappointed when I found out it was Humble Monthly Regular Unlock & I missed it, but not sure do I want another buggy game in my library next to Pathfinder KM

Them's Fightin' Herds - have been eyeing this a long time, want to try something new but not sure if I would enjoy it

your suggestion below 12 euro...

Subnautica is free on Epic Games Store Launcher so you should nab that and let that entertain you for a bit at least.

Hmmm... Thems Fightin Herds, if I remmeber correctly it's like a 2D fighting game with pony's? Skullgirls is cheap and has a similar vibe.

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

Already grabbed it & not impressed.

You are dead to me.   :verymad:

I picked up Elex on sale, but I don't think I'm ready for the time commitment. Just wanted to have it in the library.

Me: Ooh, that JRPG looks interesting!

Also me: Don't you have like 5 of those you haven't played yet that are better?

Me: I could use a new horror game!

Also me: But I own everything on the top sellers and haven't played half of them.

Me: Ooh, I could get the 7th game in this franchise. I like it

Also me: You own  1-6, but you're still only on 2. Do you really need to buy it now?

Just how many System Shocks do you have in your backlog?

I have two. Well, I did play 2 but that doesn't count since it was some 18 years ago. *sniff*

Never played 1 though which is the one that is similar to Prey, 2 was more in the lines of BioShock I think.

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Being a sucker, I bought the Prey trilogy pack. I noticed that the first Prey is rated much higher than the sequels, but in for a penny, in for a pound.

EDIT: a little late here and I'm a tad tired. Had to clean up the post.

"Trilogy pack"? There's no trilogy - there's been Prey back in ... Prehistoric ages and in 2017, a game of the same name got released. Later, 2 DLCs came out, both very different from the base game. We're talking about the 2017 base game here (I believe?) Edited by Fenixp

2006 version of prey not readily available. guess what uve bought there is the base game + the dlcs, mooncrash and typhon hunter. im not all that interested in typhon hunter. (multiplayer, meh) mooncrash is a nifty little standalone campaign thats off-piste enough to complement the base game with a fresh take on similar themes.

the higher reviews ur seeing are prob for the base game, which is as it should be. mooncrash just an experimental little diversion by comparison. base game stone cold masterpiece imo. cant comment on typhon hunter, but its free afaik, so whatevs.

I notice a few neat deals, but thing is: None of them really spoke to me. This may be one of the first Steam sales, where I won't buy any game. In fact, I went ahead and prepurchased the only thing I was sure I wanted: Gathering Storm for Civ6 (and was met with red sentences from Valve: "This purchase does not grant any bonus trading cards…" I didn't care, haha!

All this auxillary steam stuff baffles me no end. I just want to play games, not be part of some community and stack gamerpoints and achievements or whatever theyre called.

Honestly thats what really puts me off about steam, the sprawl of it. It makes me feel like an idiot whenever i boot it up cos i dont know what half of it does.

If i want to talk **** with folk about games, im a big enough boy to go find my own outlets.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have to disagree, I love customizing my profile and ahowing off badges and achievements. It really is better than Xbox achievements and PS Trophies.

Thing is, Steam's social aspect is so strong that GoG, Origin and console gamers (non-Steam users) will create an account just to express on the Steam forums how much they hate Steam or just to talk to devs who have games on GoG but hate GoG's forums due to nobody really being there.

For me, the best thing about achievements is having a bookmark for a game that I've played. I have a backlog and from time to time I travel so having markers to indicate or remind is neber a bad thing. They have always been super helpful, to me, anyway. I learned to love them in time because of it.

I have to admit, pretty much all my wishlist was on sale... but eh, with life the way it is I haven't been playing games much the last 4-6 months, and I suddenly thought why buy something that's just going to sit there for half a year before I get around to actually playing it?

So I didn't pick up anything, and just plan to wait for my gaming mood to hit.

And that is how my backlog is sitting at 275 unfinished games. (Down from 374, at least.)
