Paladin FoD Arquebus

So i read elsewhere on the forums that it was possible to use a Paladin's Flames of Devotion(+some other skills), with an arquebus to get high initial damage.

 

However when i read Flames of Devotion's description it says:

 

The paladin's next melee attack inflicts 50% additional burn damage if it hits. In addition, the attack is made with +20 accuracy.

This ability strikes with both weapons, i.e. dual-wielding characters will hit twice with this ability.

 

The arquebus being a ranged weapon shouldn't work should it?.

It works with all weapons, including arquebus. The weapon with the highest potential dmg per FoD attack is Firebrand (can be summoned with Belt of the Royal Deadfire Cannoneer and/or Forgemaster Gloves). Arquebuses work well, too. Basically everything that has high dmg per hit. Dual wieldig hits twice with FoD (Full Attack), so heavy one handers (like dual sabres) are good as well.
