The Will Breaker build uses the Fighter's Unbending skill to mitigate incoming damage, but since the Warlock lacks that ability, how do you deal with the raw damage that the Berserker's Frenzy produces?

Seems like a Warlock will die quite quickly...

Llengarth's Displaced Image, Llengrath Safeguards, Ironskin...

Frenzy damage is mitigated ring of regeneration and voidward ring

and savage defiance (barbarian) later

Ok.

What do you think of these stats for a Human Warlock (without BB/with BB):

MIG 19/21
CON 04/06
DEX 15/17
PER 18/20
INT 18/20
RES 04/06

Too squishy?  Overvaluing Dex?

For me 3 "defensive" 2 "offensive" worked best for synergy in PoTD at least, the RP part is purely speculative, but personally I opt to pick the existing companions for their backstories.

I always go full offensive plus 1 healer. Current setup

1. MC some sort of wizard to AoE things down

2. Eder R/F dual wield full offensive with defensive cooldowns if things go wrong

3. Pallegina P/F dual wield +fire weapons with ability to break charms.

4. Takehu D/C with shield. Disabler, heal.

5. Open spot for any companion you would like.

4/6 Con? Wow, you like to live dangerously.

What distribution would you go for?

And also, what do you think of going for Spellblade instead?  Bearing in mind that I'm running a Distraction tank...

Well, I'd maybe go for

Might 18

Dex 16

Con 10

I don't think a Distraction tank helps the Spellblade a whole lot. The main idea for me would be a totally different playstyle then. Go with Assassin/Evoker and drop Assassinate +25 Accuracy +50% Crit damage fireballs from stealth (empowered when possible). Also cool, but a very diiferent flavour - burst rather then sustainable.

For #6 I'd personally go Ascended/Vanilla Rogue on the mindstalker if you are going to use a bow exclusively. Only go Streetfighter if you want to use hand mortars.

Miscreant's leathers should be the armor you pick for a pure dps build

I'd probably still go with Frostseeker (warbow) but using Veilpeircer (with disrupting arrow) on boss fights  (it +Last word w/ silencing both being used on the same mob can shut. it. down.

Edit: You don't "need" ascended but the PL bonus helps land things, since you have the willbreaker in your group though you may not need that and it would make sense to see if vanilla mindstalker works for you, which it very well might.

Thanks for the quick answers!

I just did a Google search, and I saw several posts complaining that the stat bonuses do not port over. But these posts were in May. Did Obsidian fix this issue then?

Also, can you build a custom history and still get the stat bonuses?

Ok, I did find an old save. But I don't have Effigy's Resentment done or Gifts from the Machine done, as I played a "good" character.

But I do have Dungeon Delver, Second Skin, and Hylea's Boon. Do they port over?

Also, Berath's Blessing? How do you get that? I don't recall what that was.

Berath's Blessings are things you earn from completing the game, completing parts of the game, etc.  You choose bonuses when you start a new character based on the achievements you've gotten.

I don't know about those abilities, I don't think they transfer.

Yeah, I also don't pick those evil options.

But I wonder about Llengrath's boon. I believe I picked that option in the history generator, but I don't think I have it.

Hmm, that sucks. But then being able to sandwich everything from PoE 1 would really create over-powered characters.

Speaking of which: How difficult is PoE 2 at the hardest difficulty relative to PoE 1?

I see. As was the case in PoE 1, I am doing lots of research before even starting a game ;)

You can create a new "endgame save" with the legacy creator and make minor changes to get anything you missed.

I see. As was the case in PoE 1, I am doing lots of research before even starting a game ;)

You can check Berath's Blessings here. There are several that you can get just by playing a few hours and restarting. If you don't want to do a first run without these blessings, you could play a "trial game", test a build, collect some points and restart with a couple of blessings.

I think these are the easiest ones to get (spoilers...):

- Go to Neketaka (1)

- Hire an adventurer (1)

- Name your first island (there is one that don't require you to do any battles, it's called Fampyr's Crypt or something like that and it is in the Northwest of the map. Someone said that you can just enter the crypt and immediately leave and the pop up for naming the island will appear) (2)

- Buy an improvement to your ship (2)

- Reach captain level 1 (you will need to fight some sea battles) (2)

- Craft 5 scrolls (2)

- Craft 5 potions (1)

- Craft 5 bombs (1)

- Place 5 traps (1)

- Assign crew members to every slot in a ship (2)

- A few others will be earned automatically if you complete the first area of the game: repair the ship (2), contact Eothas (2)

Total: 19 points

You could also try to recruit all the companions (2), but to recruit all sidekicks you'll need to do some quests.

Notice that you can spend your money to get an achievement (making scrolls for example) and then reload to get another one, if you really want to get them...

I updated my post above. If you want to do a lot of research before playing the game, I'd recommend trying a build for a few hours just to be sure. You have nothing to lose. Well, except time, but if you decide to change your build or character background/race/etc, it will be worth it. ;)

Yes, I am reading every Steam guide and the stuff in Fextralife site as well.

Which of the Berath's Blessings would you say are the best? I am trying to see how many Achievement points I should try to obtain before I start playing for "real" ;)

On builds: Yes, the sub-class and multi-class possibilities are making my head dizzy. I am inclined to try to reproduce what worked for me best in PoE 1, but people keep saying a lot of the stuff I relied on were nerfed.

I think I had a DW Paladin that relied on Sacred Immolation as main, Chanter tank that was a Dragon Thrashed bot, another Chanter that was using a reach weapon and also spamming Dragon Thrashed, A Fighter that used the stun bow (I didn't want to play a Ranger due to micro-managing the pet, and Rogue proved too squishy for only slight DPS increase over the bow Fighter), and rod-using Priest and Wizard.

I assume something like this can still work, of course with one of these classes removed since party size is 5?
