BUG - New battle 2Handed battleaxe hasnt got upgraged penetration

Recommended Posts

There us a new battleaxe introduced in the DLC called oathbreakers end. It has been made 2 handed to use instead of 1 handed .

The base penetration hasnt been upgraded to keep it inline with other 2 handed weapons. It has the same base penetration as a 1 handed axe.

This weapon is completely useless in its current state

If you feel it is a bug report it to the technical support subform, not here. Anyway it is basically a normal axe with a bit of more dmg but *that needs 2 hands* as a special ability, so doesn't *deserve* the +1 pen. I wold not mind if it get's it anyway.

Still is one of the """S tier weapon """ at the moment, surely is noy "completely useless"

Its treated as a Greatsword which also has a lower penetration compared to other two handers, so no bug but feature.

Does it have the same base damage and two damage types?

Only slash damage but has the proficiency of the one handed battleaxe.

Its not a bug?

Why the hell would someone want to use it?

+7 base pen is way to low.

You would be far better of dual weilding or using a shield. Like way better off.

7 base penetration is the same as all standard one handed weapons,

Dual wielding is the optimal choice in near every situation but two handers are close enough especially with classes that have a lot of primary attacks instead of full attacks like Fighters, Soul Blades and Monks. Plus two handers look cool and the two handed axe looks very cool.

I mean, have you actually used it? Get the found guilty enchant and put it on someone with good aoe. It's one of the strongest additions from the DLC and among the best two handers right now.

All two-handers got +1 PEN with patch 1.2 to improve them for balancing reasons.

Because of that this special two handed battle-axe should also get +1PEN compared to a one-handed battle axe. If it hasn't that's clearly an oversight and should be reported and fixed.

Of course it's not useless, far from it, but this is only due to its unique enchantments, not because it's a two handed axe.

THis case is a precedent for all the folling ones where weapons of a certain proficiency but different handling style get introduced (think of Abydon's Hammer). For example: if Obsidian introduces a unique great sword that could be wielded with one hand once you reach 20 MIG, it should get -1 PEN compared to "normal" great sword once you use it with one hand only.

If Obsidian introduces a two handed sabre that should get +1 PEN - because it occupies both hands.

100% agree, and I have already reported it in the Tech Support forum. I did however label it as a [Potential Bug] as it could be intentional, though I also believe it is an oversight.
