The Deck of Many Things sells a potentially interestring ring called "Ring of Prosperity's Fortune" that has the ability "The Power of Money" Imroves hit to crit rate based on current wealth.

 

However, the ability does not show up on the character screen, and its completely unclear how it actually works, i.e. how much money is required for what rate improvement. I don't even know whether it works at all.

 

-> Does anybody know how to view total hit to crit or how the item works exactly ?

Ok thank you, that seems worthwile for a ring slot. Really wish they would add some visibility to the character overview (or at least to the fight console). Also wonder whether its a flat 15 % max of if you get all the lower chances as well...

Josh mentioned in a QA stream that their tooltips are generated by code that reads the item's properties, and he attributed inaccuracies to the code's shortcomings.

 

I have no way to disprove this, although frankly it shouldn't be too hard to make the code read the specifics and give us the hard numbers. Clarity on these matters has been requested since the PoE days, and certainly during the Deadfire beta days.

 

As for the thresholds, they should be visible in the JSON that has the ability. Let's see if kilay can tell us ;)

Where do you see the crit chance anyway?

For the screenshot above I used the Unity Engine mod. Equip the ring, open character sheet, open "Remove Effects" in the UE panel, scroll down till you see "The Power of Money" then click the '?' next to the '-'.

 

AFAIK there is nowhere in game that displays a total hit to crit value. And they don't shoe crit chance as it depends on your accuracy vs the applicable defense of the target.

 according to the bundles it should work in this way

5 different money tiers

  •  10000-25000
  •  25000-50000
  •  50000-100000
  • 100000-200000
  • more of  200000

any tier you reach this ability should grant you a increase to Crit of 3%
so the order of bonus  ranks should be (again according to the bundle)

  • 3%
  • 6%
  • 9%
  • 12%
  • 15%

issue in UI are the stringtable that probably have not been assigned in the proper way. we can rewrite the string using some override field in those bundles or adding a new one like  a display_string status effects and customize as we like
it's really late, so i'm not really sure to have clear all the questions about that.
Tomorrow i can check it better (maybe also the stringtable question)
