Then you launch Deadfire and discover his statue in the palace in Neketaka, where he is credited as a big shot explorer among the Huana. Mainland pretty much means continent. The Deadfire Archipelago is just a bunch of islands. So based on that wording I would not expect to see Abet in Deadfire.
