E3 2018 Thread

Recommended Posts

Yes, you're right. Did you play the demo on Steam?

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

I'll bet ye've got all sorts o' barmy questions! (She mimics your heroic stance) Greetin's, I have some questions... can ye tell me about this place? Who's the Lady o' Pain? I'm lookin' fer the magic Girdle of Swank Iron, have ye seen it? Do ye know where a portal ta the 2,817th Plane o' the Abyss might be? Do ye know where the Holy Flamin' Frost-Brand Gronk-Slayin' Vorpal Hammer o' Woundin' an' Returnin' an' Shootin'-Lightnin'-Out-Yer-Bum is?

Okay... I can't imagine anyone saying this looks bad.

Correction, there's always someone. I can't take anyone serious if they say this looks bad.

Well, looks ain't everything.

My problem with Ubisoft games is that I usually find them super boring and grindy. This has nothing to do with graphics.

Yeah, I thought the consensus problem with Ubisoft-developed games is that they're all fairly similar sandbox-type games that share a lot of mechanics and have loads of copy+pasted content.

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

WHY IN THE HELL NO ONE HERE MENTIONED IT IS PUBLISHED BY ACTIVISION???

Is that somehow worse than Namco-Bandai for From's 3rd party Souls games? Activision is also just handling localization and western publishing efforts, From self-publishes in Japan.

It has been ages since I last played a Ubisoft game (not counting HoMM3 HD). So that wouldn't be any problem for me anyway. Even if they copy+pasted content from their other games, it would be new to me.

But the thing about Assassin's Creed Odyssey is, that they are in fact trying to change the series. They are changing the genre of the series to RPG.

So it's not "same old, same old".

Certainly not for AC Odyssey within the game series Assassins Creed. This one is going to be very different from its predecessors.

Of course, now fans are outraged that this isn't a "true" Assassin's Creed game anymore...

My favorite from Ubisoft will always be their Rayman games :D I hope they remaster the first 3 and make a new one as well.

My other favorites are Watch Dogs, Child Of Light and Child If Light.

Couldn't care less for their Rainbow Six stuff or their racing games. I haven't bought an AC game since the very first one on PS3 (still got it). Only since Origins has AC really interested me again.

Then there is the cel-shaded Prince Of Persia which is underrated. Far better than the older ones.

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

When it comes to publishing, Activision is still much worse choice for customers than Namco. Even though Namco is far from being saint, they at least do not have shady patents how to screw matchmaking for better monetization of microtransactions. Namco was always only about DLCs in their games.

Only thing which gives still a little bit of hope for the game not being MTX ridden ****fest is their release of Crash Bandicoot.

This one's over the limit. Since E3 has came and went, I think these discussions can go into the RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS topic so I'm not putting up a new one. HOWEVER, if someone disagrees and feels this needs its own topic, feel free to start one. :)
