Honestly, I wasn't majorly impressed by ATOM RPG. It feels like a clumsy RPG from the early 90s (obviously, they were going for the original Fallout feel). Unless that's your cup of tea, stay away.

The writing did make me chuckle though. As one reviewer put it: "It's like a Russian guy wrote a dark story, which was then translated by a jolly British guy who's never seen a post-apocalyptic movie in his life."

I just bought several games from the Steam 2K sale, these included

  • Borderlands 1&2
  • Bioshock 2 Remastered
  • Bioshock Infinite
  • Mafia 1

Excellent special pricing, at least 65-70 % off each  game  :sorcerer:

Bioshock Infinite, the best one of the trilogy and the only one with meaningful writing, atmosphere and characters. There's a reason why Booker and Elizabeth became iconic in the industry :)

Now I'm interested. I always enjoy a unique story.

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

I was not happy with most of it. Its a shame I was really looking forward to playing it.

This is game definitely takes cues from the Fallout. Heck the character creator is pretty much a carbon copy of the original including traits that were in the Fallout. But the worst part is definitely the interface and I never got used to the interface of the original Fallout and this is just more of the same. The writing is a mixed bag for me, there are some very strange and intriguing conversation you can get into (there is a part early on in the game where you drink some strange liquor and go on a mushroom trip) but the majority of the time it feels pretty repetitive with the layout. Combat is not good, it is extremely clunky. It even bites more if you are a control freak like who want to direct companions because you have very little control of companions in combat.

So unless if you are a really big fan of Fallout, flaws and all, I'd say ignore this game.

It's more the odd tone of the dialogue than the story...

I wanted to buy that game on Steam.... especially at 50% off. Almost did it when I noticed it said uses 3rd Party DRM, Denuvo (sp?). Bought a few other, smaller games instead ("The Turing Test" and "Space Rangers HD: A War Apart")
