  1. some help would be nice nothing works i have tried. no force comands in steam no overley disable. low fps in fights and stutters. DxDiag.txt
  2. Bug: When summoning minions in combat, the game will stutter. Repro Steps: 1. Enter combat with something 2. Summon a minion 3. Observe stutter Important notes/Required Conditions: 1. Must be first time to summon that particular minion in that gameplay session. It will not stutter again in future summons until game has been closed and restarted. 2. This can and does happen per individual minion. as such if you "minion dump" by summoning several minions at once, the stutter can last for a full second or more. Subjectively: this feels very crippling in more challenging battles. 3. This affects chanter summons, item summons, and priest summons that I have confirmed so far. Edit: 4. This also seems to affect spells that summon a minion conditionally such as Ninagauth's Killing Bolt's Spectre summon on kill. Speculation: I suspect the code for loading the minions into combat is causing the stutter. The game appears to stop, process their load into combat, and then continue. As the stutter is noticeable and impactful, especially for minion builds, this likely needs optimization. Of course, having worked some QA in the past this could also be a bug and not optimization. Everything can always be a bug lol . Caveat: I am still running on non-SSD. Pity me lol . It's quite possible with an SSD this load-in time would not even be noticeable depending on how the code is structured. The rest of my system should be fine or even good as you should be able to see in the attached dxdiag. DxDiag.txt
  3. Patch 2.1 did not fix the FPS degradation and memory leak. It's still as bad for me. Below 40 fps and over 3GB ram usage after just 2 hours. AMD Ryzen 5 1600X 16GB 3200Mhz ram Windows 10 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB DxDiag attached --- Proof: FPS before: https://i.imgur.com/OEH0BgO.jpg FPS after restart: https://i.imgur.com/RDjZz0z.jpg RAM usage before: RAM usage after restart: DxDiag.txt
  4. Im gonna keep it short. Deadfire performance is really, really bad. On 1060,i7,16gb ram it runs on my pc between 30-45 fps in most locations and about 60-70 on a few rare occasions. Game also sometimes freeze for 1s when summoning. Its definetly not hardware problem because deadfire use at best 50% of my gpu and cpu (checked it). FPS stays the same on both high and low presets,no matter resolution. And i even reinstalled windows to double-check. Many random people complain about fps, even those with 1080 gtx, just look at reddit and steam forums. Not to mention numerous topics about performance before game launch. Also game still suffers from memory leak, even after patch. Will it be adressed on next patch or AT ALL? You guys at obsidian are comepletly quiet about it.
  5. I have an i5-7500 with a GTX 1070 and a G-Sync compatible monitor. All other games run smoothly, and so would Deadfire (I tend to get 60+ FPS in most areas) if it weren't for the sudden, intermittent drops every minute or so. Even drops from 90 to 65 are noticeably irritating. I tried changing the resolution, lowering the settings, fiddling around in the Nvidia panel, nothing works. Help?
  6. Hopefully, people are still visiting the Pillars 1 forum. I really need some help. I am trying to replay Pillars of Eternity 1 while I wait for the bugs in 2 to be ironed out and I am suffering from periodic stutters every 30 seconds or so. The framerate's almost locked at 60 everywhere but it still stutters. It's quite annoying. Doesn't matter where I am, it still stutters. This and Pillars 2 are the only games I am having issues with on my system. Everything else runs fine. My system specs: OS: Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) CPU: i7 3770K (overclocked or not, it makes no difference) GPU: Geoforce GTX 1060 6GB (I have tried switching this with an older GTX 780. No change in stutter) Storage: 1TB SSD RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB (2x8GB) 1866MHz DDR3 Motherboard: Asrock Z75 Pro3 I do not have a Gsync Monitor. I have a "Generic PnP 60hz Monitor" Temps never go above 60 degrees Things I have tried: Vsync On/Off Lowered setting to the lowest it was possible to go. Capped framerate to 30 Ran game as administrator Tried running the game with each different compatibility setting Verified game cache with steam Updated nviida drivers Complete uninstall and reinstall of the game Tried the different launch parameters (-force-d3d11, -force-opengl) Double checked that the game was using my actual GPU. Temporarily disabled my integrated gpu to force the game to use of my dedicated gpu Ran with high cpu priority Fiddled with the cpu affinity (disabled and re-enabled the working cores to trick it into using my other cores, which HAS worked for different games before.) Overclocked the GPU Underclocked the GPU Removed any and all overclocking from GPU and CPU Tried to disable any non windows services Made sure everything else was closed with task manager before running the game. Checked to make sure I was using "Maximum Performance" power option. Disabled both Steam Overlay and the in-game telemetry. Turned off all my monitoring software(MSI Afterburner). Temporarily disabled my antivirus disconnected my ethernet cable removed any usb devices removed audio devices (certain older games crash when using certain audio devices) I don't know what else to do. Some people with lesser hardware are getting better performance while others with stronger hardware are getting worse performance. I am welcome to and appreciate any suggestions you might have. 7. I've been watching some streamers play, most notably itsmeJP who has the best PC money can buy (SLI GTX 1080ti / i7 6800K) and he cannot maintain even 60fps (which is the minimum these days with 120Hz and especially 144Hz becoming so popular), I've seen him drop as low as 24fps and in general he's sitting around 35 - 45fps which is really awful considering his hardware. If the best PC money can buy can't play this game properly what chance do the rest of us have? If Steam is to be trusted the average user is using far, far less powerful hardware so it'll be interesting to see the experience most people end up getting. I'm hoping the build the streamers are currently playing isn't the build we'll receive tomorrow, because if it is I'll have to hold off playing until it's patched.
  8. I only just bought PoE 2 days ago and I'm enjoying nerding out very much, but technically I'm finding it quite poor. The frame rate is really bad during combat, fluctuating wildly from 20 - 100fps. I'm also having lots of audio issues, from voice work skipping to choppy audio while just exploring (I've disabled my VPN and IP6 which helped but didn't fix it entirely). So now I'm wondering is PoE2 on the same engine? If so will it be the absolute latest version of Unity which I know is a little better. Once I finish PoE I'd like to back PoE2 and buy it early, and the only thing that's holding me back is the worry of it running poorly, which is always my worry when a game uses Unity.
  9. Not sure why, but I'm averaging around 10 frames per second when playing NWN2 on my system. All settings are set to their lowest value. I verified that it's using my Nvidia card instead of the onboard GPU. I have tried restarting and playing. I have also installed the community patch. I've done fresh installs, but I still around 10 FPS. Any help would be wonderful. Windows 7 SP 1 i5-2450 @2.50GHz 8gb Ram Nvidia GT 630M, Driver ver. 375.70 Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete (latest GOG version)
  10. Hello, i've decided to get back on Pillars, on Steam? Bought Pillars of Eternity - Hero Edition on MArch 2015 What a disappointment... Rigs : Windows 10 Intel Core I7 4930k (6 cores) 16Go RAM GTX 1070 Even this monster which run ANY game on Ultra settings, i get *Drum Rolls* 22 Locked FPS (yes locked, any resolution, any game options, any compatibility mode, any power management) My CG is used at 10% Is it a joke ? Exe details : 12/07/2016 version : 1.3.2.1047 thanks to help me understand
  11. Hi everyone, 2days ago i bought Pillars of Eternity (and it seems to be a very good game), but i have some fps problems. I only played 1-2hours, at the beginning of the game when the caravan stop, when it's full of people around the game starts to have some fps drop... instead when i was in the cavern nothing to say, everything was Ok. Later, when i arrived at Gilded Vale and i went to the Black Hound's inn, Omg it started to go slooooowly, a lot of fps drop i tried to put everything on low settings, no vsync, no antialiasing, even with the lowest resolution it lags. What could be the problem? Is there any solution? My Pc Spec: Windows 10 (updated) Nvidia Gtx 760 (driver updated) Intel i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz 8gb Ram DD3 Yeah it's not a super pc, but even so bad... every other games that i am playing works fine. Thanks.
  12. hi I've installed poe recently and i have annoying problems with my fps... the game is working at 20 -30 fps :/ but my cpu is loaded in 10-15% i try to fix it but nothing works ..help me plz it is very annoying , how can i level up rate of fps ? here is my config : i5 2500k(4,5ghz) gtx970 and 8 Gb ddr3 ..i don t have idea why itsn t working well :/ windows 7 64bit
  13. Pillars of Eternity runs awful (max 30 fps at 1600x1200) on a Surface Book even though it has a fairly decent 940m-ish dedicated GPU. There's no log file in the directory or console command that would allow me to verify which graphics card the game is actually using, but it seems like the integrated graphics card is used no matter I do. I've tried forcing the game to either use the integrated graphics or the dGPU by using the Nvidia manager but it doesn't affect performance at all. I've even tried disabling the integrated graphics card in the device manager and it actually lowers the fps to 1-4 fps even in the menu. There seems to be a problem with Unity 4 games defaulting to integrated graphics but I've never found any solution. Any advice in how I can force the game to use the dedicated GPU? I've tried updating drivers, looking through the registry, etc.
  14. Need some help, Firstly i've updated all drivers, reinstalled the game (Steam), googled and read many many threads and i can't find the solution. Laptop I-7 4700HQ CPU @ 2,40 GHz 8 GB RAM GTX 760M Windows 8,1 So after starting PoE it takes about five minutes before the game starts lagging, stuttering and it gradually becomes worse. When this happens the audio gets spikes of distorted sounds when other sounds are playing like conversations etc. it sounds a little bit like the speaker is broken. It only gets back to normal when i restart the computer and then i can play 5 min again before the problems start. CPU is at about 13% and about 1 GB RAM usage. The Laptop becomes very hot when i play PoE, It's not even remotly this hot when i play other games like Dark Souls 2 on maxed graphics.. I've turned off the anti aliasing ingame but no change at all. Has anybody the same problem or does anybody know how to fix this? I'm kind of a noob when it comes to computers so please explain like i'm a three year old. Regards
  15. Please add an option to limit the fps at 15-20-30-60. I think, that's improves laptop battery life and some notebooks stays cold, like a morning of pale spring still clinging to winter's chill.
