  1. I have a 49 inch "super ultra wide" monitor which runs at 3840x1080 resolution (Samsung CHG90). This resolution is supported in-game and the game looks absolutely amazing for anything which is rendered in real-time - but there is a problem with cutscenes / pre-rendered videos as the width of the video stretches to fit the resolution, while the height of the video remains the same. This drastically changes the aspect ratio of the video, breaking any immersion held in the moment and lessening the overall experience as a whole since any cool details put into the scene are just obliterated. Most modern games solve for this situation by a) picking the best pre-rendered video based on the screen height, b) scaling that video (while maintaining aspect ratio) to fit the height of the screen, and c) pillarboxing (the vertical equivalent of letterboxing) any additional width using black bars. This solves the problem described above without requiring every resolution to be rendered as a one-off. Please add pillarboxed videos as a default, or at least allow this to be selected within the game settings menu. Thank you!
  2. Hello there my little droogs, I'm having a problem finding where to change the resolution to 3440x1440. I've read forums where people are complaining about not getting ultrawide in cinematics but I'm not bothered about that as long as I can play the game in the right resolution, because as it stands I have the following options: Fullscreen 2560x1440 max res; Windowed fullscreen 2752x1152 fixed (greyed out); Windowed 1835x1146 max res. Is there an option to play it at the proper resolution by normal means i.e. just in the graphics options, and if not, is there another way like altering the .ini files? At this point in the game most modern releases have the option for ultrawide monitors so it seems a bit odd that I'm not seeing the option. Oh and I'm playing it through Xbox Game Pas like I suspect a lot of you are (£1 for the first month ;b). Many thanks! Over and out . . .
  3. Is there any way to modify the game resolution by hand from a config file or from console? My problem is a bit unique. My monitor which has some faulty **** going on with itself. It is a standard fullHD monitor but it's DVI input has gone faulty and only shows a standard monitor with only 1024x768 as it's supported resolution. As a result I had to brute force windows to use it's native 1920x1080. Other games also give me problems now with the monitor since they only see the 1024x768 resolution but I can always work around it by using borderless or windowed more. But Pillars only sees that the monitor can give 1024x768 and I can't change it in any way... I have tried to use my 2nd monitor to use resolutions from it, but this had only made the game use 1680x1050 resolution but it had also scaled the window to 1024x768. I'd see this would be easy to fix by having a option to start the game with any resolution you give parameters to, like I've used with other games that support windowed mode and borderless mode. So is there anyway to start the game with windowed mode and custom resolution?
