  1. The beacon system is great; it just needs one small improvement: The ability to label beacons like chests. The icons are just not enough sometimes! Where is the compass? It's a real pain to have to open my map interface just to see which way I'm facing. Please just put a compass on the main screen! Why does my super awesome wristwatch not have a CLOCK on it??? Again, I have to open the map/inventory just to check if I have enough time for one more run before nightfall. The map is severely lacking in geographical features. It has 'biome' boundaries, I guess, but those are of almost no use to the player; they really only matter from a game designer's perspective , and are currently more confusing than helpful. What is really missing is things like rock walls (on the right side near the hedge; I know the ones on the left are shown), the wood log wall and (especially!) gorges! These canyons are one of the most difficult and dangerous elements in the game to navigate (I'm constantly falling into them in the dark) and are not noted at all! What gives? I know that you may want for the player to have to discover some things, and that's fine; do 'fog of war' until these areas are explored. But once I've been to an area, I should have a notation of where the pits of death are located. Landmark discovery is super random. I have been inside some field stations and other features several times, and then one time I approach it from a different angle and I suddenly get the notification that I've 'discovered' it. Oh, really? Amazing. And the red anthill; no matter how many times I've been inside it, it still doesn't appear on the map as a landmark. Also, when doing a resource scan from a field station, scrolling the resource list also scrolls the map. Goofy. Feature request: Please add ziplines to the map when they're created. Not just the endpoints, but draw the line. It would be super helpful. Even better would be a directional arrow. But everything above is more important. On a related note, it sure would be nice to get the WHOLE rope back when I try a location and it doesn't work, instead of just getting back HALF the rope, like when other buildings are recycled. Thanks. P.S. I'm playing the beta release, "The Bugs Strike Back" on PC.
  2. Hi, I acquired Pillars of Eternity recently through EPIC GAMES, and the game works fine, until I open the map. I can create the character, play a little, however, when I open the map the game crashes. Its not aways, but its frequently. The fartest I have gone in the game is in the following map just right after Calisca dies. I can open the map with no problems right at the start of the following map, but if I explore a little and open it, the game crashes. I have been searching a fix for it, updating drivers, making the game run as administrator, disabling fullscreen optimizations, changing resolutions, setting the affinity via task manager (specifying the number of cores and threads), reinstalling it, launching the game without Epic Games Laucher, repair it, etc. Here is a save-file (I hope I got the right one, its just after I trigger the event with the waterskin in the beginning), if I load it, and open the map, the game crashes with a unity error every time. Hopefully its something simple, heard a lot of good stuff about this game. Sorry for any grammar stuff, english is not my main language. d13d362c60f0457485b02fd130cc140d 7759791 Encampment.savegame Player.log DxDiag.txt
  3. I'd love to build a web app for this game to help players find resources on the map, but 2 things make this difficult. First, there isn't a displayable map coordinate system. Adding an accurate lat/lon or similar coordinate or grid system would help users find specific items. Second, it would be great if you made available some of the game assets, like item icons, that could be used in fan-made web apps. Great job so far! Loving the game and all the recent improvements!
  4. So it seems the Copperlane map stuff is being put on top of every other map in the city.So all of the magnifying glass prompts, the hidden cache, the names of locations on the map like the Goose and the Fox. All of that is just being put on top of every other map and I've mostly been able to navigate around it, I just have to walk around the areas with the magnifying glass prompts but I literally can't complete a quest because it's blocking my access to an NPC. I haven't been able to find anything about this in all the bug threads I've seen so I was wondering if anyone had a clue how to fix this. It started when I entered Copperlane and so far it has affected every single location I've been to afterwards. Screenshot from the Goose and the Fox. I need to speak to Weaxel for "Something Secret" and I can't reach him because the entire area is covered by the magnifying prompt for some reason. Other prompts don't take over entire areas so I have to assume this is part of the bug.
  5. Only seeing one quest marker at a time is a drag and interrupts the flow of the game. It would be much better to be able to track multiple quests at once so it's easier to see if any objectives are nearby.
  6. When zooming constantly in/out (achieved by spinning the right stick) the background music cuts out. Not all sound effects, just the background music. Really strange.
  7. I cant enter the room where chairman rockwell is without the game crashing no matter how i do it i even went back to before the mission and redid everything and it still crashes my game does anybody have a fix? Xbox one
  8. Hi, I am an early backer and have been playing as time allows since release on Linux, Solus 4. Never had an issue until this morning when I could not close the map anymore. This effectively prevents me from playing. (Last time I played was perhaps a month ago when everything was working) Steps to reproduce: Start a game or load any save hit 'M' on the keyboard or click the map icon to show the full screen map Hit 'M' again or press the x in the top right corner to close the map Expected result: Map is closed, my party and its surroundings are visible again Actual result: Map becomes a bit darker but doesn't disappear. Impossible to play the game if I can't see what's happening. If I subsequently open the main menu and try to close it it also sticks on the screen. (It doesn't if I don't first open and try to close the map) There is no "output_log.txt" in the steamapps/common/pillars2/pillars2_data folder I've verified the integrity of the local files in Steam, no issues found Sysspecs: RX580, mesa driver (it's default) i7 6700 16GB RAM Linux - Solus No mods to Pillars 2
  9. IIRC this only started after 4.1 or so -- after city encounters started working again. Running into random encounters in Neketaka seems to work again now, but after running into one, your location is reset to the district you started from, rather than where you hit the encounter. Relatively minor, probably only a problem in Eothas's challenge, but still. Is this happening to anyone else?
  10. I'm trying to get into the luminous adra mill for a quest. Every time I get sent back to the Main Menu. I've already restarted several times. I've already done the verify file integrity thing that Steam has. I even went back 5 or 6 saves and tried to just rush to the door and open it and every time I get booted back. My game is up to date and I'm not opted in to the Beta program or anything like that. Do I need to do a full uninstall and re-install just to get into this building? Will it happen for other buildings? Anyone have any suggestions?
  11. So today, after having beaten the game once and taking a break from my second game, I decided to try and wrap up some loose ends I forgot about before Ukaizo. However, upon entering and leaving ANY area back out to the main map (I have tested this after the initial encounter, it is any area), the game takes a moment to freeze upon loading in. No matter if I leave out onto the boat or an island, I am immediately forced into the pre-Ukaizo ship battle text sequence between the other factions and the Guardian. Reloading the autosave made upon immediately entering into the main map doesn't fix the issue. I don't even have any option to leave back out of the text sequence. Also, the dialogue choices do not contain my crew member names during this, and instead are blank. Following this, I can however fight the Guardian and continue through Ukaizo without issue. I should probably also add that this only started to happen AFTER I downloaded the Rum Runners Pack and Beard and Hair Pack, and that I first encountered this bug after recruiting Mirke. Not that I could see any reason why they'd be causing this, just adding as many details as possible. To be more specific, about a month ago, I reloaded my pre-Endgame save on my first character in order to recruit Mirke. I then left said character at Fort Deadlight to wait for the first expansion, and continued playing on my second character. Multiple weeks later, I hopped on said character to change some of my party members hair styles to ones from the Beard and Hair Pack, and then quit out immediately without triggering any sort of area transition. At the time, I did not encounter the bug because I did not leave out to the main map during either session. Jump to now, where I come back to do some quests I didn't know about at the time. Reloading the pre-Endgame save before recruiting Mirke leads to the same result upon entering and leaving any area out to the main map. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rfq3v0ygdeqtbha/AABU5jHDWoWlyxerkSKtntHya?dl=0 Here is the link to the Dropbox containing a save before the bug occurs, a save after, a completed game save before any of the packs were downloaded (just in case), my system specs, the output log, and a screenshot of the missing names. All in that order.
  12. When I switch from the sea map to the ship the companions currently in party do not appear on the deck. Workaround: walking belowdecks and back outside makes the party members spawn.
  13. The save button became unresponsive and grayed out in the world map, in a area where it was functional few minutes before. The auto-save was still working. This happened after few ship transitions, party swap, alt-tabbing. I couldn't reproduce the issue. Restarting the game restored the save button. I don't have a savegame, only the output_log. output_log - save locked.txt
  14. I'm not sure if anyone already brought this up but I know there are at least two fan versions of the map of Eora on the internet, and it looks like nothing official has been released yet. Whenever someone asks for a map of the world, they get directed to one of the fan made pictures. But. I've been running around Brass Citadel today, and I saw this in the Officer's Lounge on the hazatoha table: It's in the game so I'd say it's as official as it can get. As for the lands themselves, my guess goes as this (sorry for the sloppy paint edition): What do you think?
  15. From the output_log: ERROR: Scene AR_1507_Bog does not have a FogOfWar object. This is needed in each scene! Every time you enter this area, or load a savegame created there, the map appears covered in fog of war. The bug seems just aesthetic, not affecting the status of enemies and quests. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qcpkx813i3hfojl/map_fog.zip?dl=0 output_log - map_fog.txt
  16. hi just left the engwith digsite and whakura pass has reaparied on the world map blocking my way to port maje, I cant enter whakura pass from this side so I need a way to enter this location again or to just bypass it all together, I would play through again but dont want to run into this problem again with out a viable work around in place.
  17. I'm in Sayuka and I noticed there was no Inn (needed to rest) so I headed out the eastern exit thinking that there was more to the town to explore. The map shows a larger town but the eastern end inst accessible. Is this by design or a bug? I can leave by foot and explore the island, but Sayuka just seems, small.
  18. Hello! The other day, I encountered an issue that seems to have rendered the quest Bekarna's Folly impossible to complete. Description: After solving the constellation puzzle at the top of Bekarna's observatory, the planet diorama aligns and the outermost planet opens up, from which you are (seemingly?) supposed to take your quest reward. However, if you leave the map before taking the items, then return to the map, the diorama is no longer in its aligned state and you cannot put it back in such a state, as the controls have ceased to be interactable. This ultimately makes it impossible to complete the quest. Reproduction Steps: Having not yet solved the constellation puzzle, go to Bekarna's Observatory. Ascend the staircase inside the Observatory to go to the top of the tower map. Solve the constellation puzzle. Verify that the planetary diorama has entered its aligned and interactable state. Verify in your Journal that the quest has reached the appropriate state. The header should read "Retrieve Bekarna's Notes" and the body should read "After activating the orrery in Bekarna's observatory, the model of one of Eora's moons opened to reveal a hidden cache. Whatever Bekarna hid must be inside." Leave the map (go back inside the observatory). Return to the map. Observe that the planetary diorama is no longer aligned and cannot otherwise be interacted with in any way. Hopefully, this is just a simple matter of needing to set a persistent map state after the quest reaches a certain state!
  19. Hi, just after leaving an area, my group get stuck on the world map. I can't move any direction. A way to "teleport" for debuging this? Best regards. Post edit: After creating a new game and loading back my savegame my party is abble to move again... So this post can be close.
  20. The entrance to the Sub-Level at the Engwithan dig-site is not marked on the map with the usual yellow diamond, although it is marked on the actual play area with the usual text.
  21. Issue Report: Description: When attempting to travel to Crägholdt Bluffs, the game crashes to the main menu while the location is loading. Steps to Reproduce the Issue: 1) Be in Caed Nua. 2) Go to the South East travel location. 3) Click on the button and select Crägholdt Bluffs. 22. I have a problem with the map of PoE. Today I noticed, that the maps of dungeons and other Locations are completely visible even if I visit the respective Location for the first time. The "dark myst" in the game is existing. But when I open the map I am able to see everything. Does somebody have the same Problem? What can I do? The game version is the latest one.
  23. Location map does not work. World map works fine. Load the attached saved game. Press 'M'. 24. i already found it quite strange that every map of the bounty hunter quests has been resetted. I mean that i had already fully explored those maps. But for the bounty hunter quests i needed to explore them again and all old enemies have been there also. But this was playable... But for the final bounty hunter quest on heritage hill i can not enter heritage hill, because the key for the gate is missing, and so i can not get to the tower to kill "Ysly". So i think this should be a bug that the maps reset for me?
  25. So I've gotten PoE a few weeks ago...during the 1.05 patch. So far the game has run well enough for me, but lately I been experiencing a really annoying crash/error that seems to happen sporadically. Although from the notes I been taking it seems to happen more during when the game is first started up. After I relaunch a couple times it seems to go away or stabilize. I'm sure theres been gameplay bugs as well but I can manage playing around those...I just can't stand crash errors though. So posting here to get feed back on whether its my laptop that needs tweaking or upgrading or is it something else. Running on the game on: Mac Book Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Intel Iris 1536 MB (retina display) with 38GB free Hard drive space (after game has been installed) Anyway the main problem for me is that it frequently crashes when loading into a new area, new map, saving, etc. and I an error message. That list a lot of threads but at top says GRAPHIC ERROR occurred. Any suggestions? THanks IN advance
