  1. Is it possible to convince her to attack Rymrgand or 18-19 skill checks just provide a different "No"? I'm going to respec and check it after completing the DLC, but if anyone has already done it, the information would be much appreciated.
  2. Hi, As the release of new DLC is approaching (or has already approached) I was curious whether I will be finally able to receive key for "Digital Download of Expansion Pack" - however I have no such luck. Perhaps there is something I am missing? I have backed the game on Fig and paid extra for expansion pack, which is properly detailed on my order page. I have later upgraded my pledge, which is also propery detailed on my order page. Both orders are marked as having shipment status "done". Unfortunately, on "My Products" page I don't have any entry remotely related to PoE2 Expansion. The game has been redeemed on Steam, where I don't have either Season-pass or 1st expansion ownership. Is there anything I am missing? How can I redeem the expansion?
  3. I recently finished my first run through the story and enjoyed it just as much as POE1. I'm currently playing through on PotD and focusing on tweaking the AI scripts... It's making the already enjoyable combat that much better. It got me to thinking that I would love to have a DLC Arena, separate from the story, where we could build custom parties and test different AI scripting strategies against endless waves of random enemies. It seems like it would be fairly easy to build (many other games do this) and would keep me playing over and over. If this is already in the future plans, thank you in advance. If not, please get on it, I say!
  4. So... I love her! Is there *any* chance that she can still be fleshed out to a full companion in a DLC? I would happily pay. My love for Aloth as a character was the primary reason I dropped +$200 on the kickstarter!
  5. So after installing the beard and face DLC pack, it appears the npcs in my game now have darkened heads. When not nearby them, their heads are totally black. Illuminated by Xoti's lantern they are merely several shades darker than their bodies. This is most noticeable in the Luminous bath house.
  6. Hi! I preordered the deluxe edition and Im wanting to find my soundtrack? I have in game pet, so how do i get the soundtrack? I'd like to listen to it on the way to work.
  7. I'm not sure if this is a patch bug, a general bug or just how it's meant to go, but looks like it's impossible to even have a proper conversation with Mirke if you only talk to her after you've resolved the Benweth quest, let alone recruit her.
  8. Hi, I'm using steam for PoE 2, and everytime I go to the DLC store page and hit "download" it just launches the game. Happening with Rum Runner and also the "Critical Role pack" DLC. Under properties (in library) the 2 DLC's aren't even listed as an option. Any way to fix this? I'm also doing shared library with gf, if that helps. (She bought it, not me)
  9. Good day Guys, Let me start by saying, I'm loving the game thus far. I have been playing on my Macbook Pro, I've had very little time to play so squeezing it in there. Game is over Steam I went to go play on my big computer 5k iMac. And for some reason, steam shows that DLC are installed. However, in the games load screen, it shows "Missing DLC". How do I fix this? I've included screenshots I've also tried unchecking the DLC's in steam shutting it down the starting and putting it back. Which, didn't seem to make a difference. I've also tried the validate game option. I'm stumped at this point as to how to get it going. Thanks
  10. I post thread to this by mistake. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/97573-hello-can-you-add-critical-role-pack-dlc-to-store-pre-purchase-packages/ Can you help us~ Thank you for your Chinese localization indeed! We can play this epic game in our native language.
  11. https://store.steampowered.com/app/855930/Pillars_of_Eternity_II_Deadfire__Critical_Role_Pack/ this app is FOD, and notice that it contains in some pre-purchase CD-Key's package. Could you please add it to Store (pre-)purchase packages? or change this DLC's package type from Free On Demand to No Cost. Sorry to bother you. Thank you in advance. BTW, Thank you for Chinese Localization. It's a perfect translation. Thank you Obsidian
  12. Simple. Next month will be globally dedicated to bug fixing. And full game will be released. What do you want after that for DLC ? Give what you want to improve or new things to add. References can be WM part 1 and 2 and things already known in BETA 4. Here my list : - No particularly more levels (12-16 in POE1). Good thing if it happened but not my first need if all 20 levels are well built. - More class. Like +1 class (3 subclasses...) give already a ton of new combinations. (And I think no more, because it is already a great amount of work for base game...) - One additionnal subclass for each class. - For me it is better if DLC can be done after the first story. Like that, no problem with "when" to do that. - I want new companions but extremely early. Same for all new weapons. (max 50 % of DLC) I have never upgrade unlabored blade for this reason. (laziness if only 2 hours remains...) - A true difficulty. Kraken is cute, but... hum... So easy to kill... - Give the opportunity to rebalance some stuff. Like, passives abilities... A general balancing. - Return of 'grimoires with novel spells'. And you ? Yes it is soon, Full game is not yet released but guys, Obsidian start to thinking to that. It is forced. Nothing is random in a company. So, it is the good moment to give your expectations... : p
  13. I got the game a few days ago. Played the tutorial liked it played through the first missions with my cleric and thief. it kept prompting me to look at the store other things. I bought the goblin that did nothing all campaigns and characters are locked with no way to get them . also if this game is ****e how do i get my cash back for the non existent dlc i bought, very dissapointed.
  14. Hey everyone! Your friendly, neighborhood, marketing drone here with what I hope will be an eye-opening insight into gamers' thoughts on DLC. First off: a big thank you to everyone who participated in our survey. Hearing your thoughts helps us understand your opinions better, and make better games. Background For those who don't know, on October 4, 2017, we published a survey, asking some key questions about players' preferences regarding DLC, and a bit about their backgrounds, as well. As anyone at Obsidian will tell you, I am big on data, and have been pushing for stuff like this for a while. So, hey, thanks for making me look good with the absolutely huge response we got to the survey: Forecast Response: ~12,000 - 18,000 Actual Responses: 55,035 Sources: Kickstarter/Fig Backers, Obsidian Forums, Obsidian Newsletter, Reddit (big thanks to the awesome humans at /r/projecteternity and /r/Fallout!), Twitter, Facebook, and from many of our wonderful developer and publisher colleagues. The survey ran until October 20, 2017, and we thank everyone who participated and all our partners who assisted us! For those who missed it, here is the amazing survey background art we used, as created by our Community Manager, Aarik Dorobiala (presented here in 1080p for those who want to use it as a wallpaper!): A Note on Sampling Methodology The statisticians among you will have noticed that our data-gathering methodology was not blind, and that's an important thing to call out. Because we didn't use a random sample of our customers or backers, but rather went to specific areas and allowed those populations to self select, we know that some of the data in this survey will be skewed toward those specific population groups. For our purposes, however, that's fine. We are interested in engaged gamers who are likely to be interested in our DLC (and DLC secularly), and we were willing to sacrifice some methodological precision if it meant driving more participation in the survey for this go-round. The fact that the survey got more popular than we ever imagined is a bonus, but it also means we need to take these results as directional, rather than strictly determinative, since the populations who responded to the survey may or may not be representative of the total population of RPG fans out there. -- Section 1: Demographics While the first section of the survey asked about DLC preferences and the second, optional, section asked about demographics, I nevertheless want to show the demographic results first, so readers can understand a bit about who answered these questions before they see how the questions were answered. The demographics section was 100% optional, but it's not clear that everyone understood that. Although we did have some folks opt out of certain questions by skipping them, we may have had significantly more if we added an affirmative opt-out answer choice to every question, which is what we will do in the future. This was my mistake, but one of the things to think about when you review these results is that I treated this piece at least in part as a "meta-survey." That is, I wanted to test certain questions and methodologies as much as gather data itself, so I can improve our data gathering and survey user-friendliness going forward. Please note that we have omitted a question for the sake of consumer privacy. Question 1: Age We were a bit surprised to see how many of the survey respondents were teenagers, but otherwise, our age demographic for this survey tracks pretty well with what we expect for the "typical" gamer: about 3/4s are between the ages of 20 and 34. Question 2: Gender While we expected that we would get a majority male response, we did not expect it to be this skewed. Only about 2% of people skipped the question, though we were asked why we did not have a third, or opt-out gender option, such as "Prefer not to answer." That was an oversight -- I simply believed people would opt out by skipping the question. Question 3: Country of Residence We were very gratified to have people from nearly every country in the world reply to our survey -- despite the fact that it was only available in English. While the numbers aren't clear on the chart, Germany featured the most respondents from a non-Anglophone nation (2,431), which was almost as many as Australia! Since the map doesn't fully show everything due to size constraints, here's the top 10 countries by number of respondents: USA - 25,089 UK - 3,939 Canada - 3,909 Australia - 2,471 Germany - 2,431 Poland - 1,651 Sweden - 1,412 France - 1,132 Russia - 1,070 Finland - 923 Question 4: - OMITTED Question 5: Preferred Gaming Platform Windows PC was by far the most commonly used gaming platform for respondents, followed distantly by Android Phone, PlayStation 4, and Portable Consoles, in that order. No other system was a major occupier of time for most of our respondents. One thing that was interesting to see was just how much more popular Android was than iOS among our respondent group. One note: our survey was quite popular on the subreddit for PlayStation 4 (/r/PS4), but the equivalent Xbox One subreddit (/r/XboxOne) does not allow surveys, which may have biased console usership results. Question 6: Preferred Purchase Platform Tracking with the use of Windows as the primary gaming platform, it's no surprise that Steam is by far the dominant platform for respondents' game purchasing decisions. Of considerable interest, however, is how high up on the list official console digital marketplaces ranked. This suggests a shift among leading-edge (or "core") gamers toward digital purchasing on console, away from brick-and-mortar or other physical disc distribution. NB: GOG.com's abbreviation should be rendered GOG, not GoG, apologies for the typo in my chart! -- Section 2: DLC Questions This segment consisted of mandatory questions, and just about everyone completed it -- we had less than a 1% abandonment rate on the survey. While there were ten questions asked, we omit the tenth, as it involves internal Obsidian benchmarking, and was originally geared toward a specific consumer-targeted audience, not the much larger audience we ended up getting, so the results aren't super valuable. Question 1: Owned Obsidian DLCs It's no surprise that Fallout: New Vegas, still one of our most popular games, remains the leader in terms of DLC ownership. We also had a significant number of respondents who owned DLC in Pillars of Eternity and, surprisingly, Neverwinter Nights 2, a game that's now more than ten years old. Only about one in ten respondents did not purchase any Obsidian DLC at all. Question 2: Acquisition Method This question got a lot of feedback from the community, and I'll will revise it if we ask a similar question in the future. The feedback largely centered on a few issues: A large number of respondents commented that, while they would not commonly refund/return the base game in order to acquire the Game of the Year (GotY) Edition, they would refrain from purchasing a game at all once DLC of any kind is announced until a GotY or other complete edition is released. Many people felt that the question insufficiently described why or how the DLC was attractive and therefore made it difficult for them to assess the value of a season pass or DLC. Everyone loves sales, so that answer choice could have been folded into the others as a value-add. Question 3: Preferred DLC Features I color-coded these by type so it would be easier for everyone to parse respondents' preferences. Overwhelmingly, respondents want more game content -- that is, they want the game itself to be bigger, deeper, longer. They want to be able to come back to it, or continue on with it. However, there was also a significant number of respondents who were looking for expanded or additional game systems, such as multiplayer (co-operative) or replayable modes such as roguelikes. Anything tagged as "competitive" or "PvP" was not considered attractive, however. Question 4: Quantity of DLC Respondents were very clear here, and their responses track with the bias toward content-based features in the previous question: people want bigger, deeper DLC for their money, not small stuff. Question 5: Influential Factors The most influential factor for the majority of respondents in informing their decision to purchase DLC is price. This could imply that respondents feel that DLC is generally overpriced, that DLC generally doesn't strike them as a good value at MSRP, or simply that gamers are cost conscious. Among the other factors, word-of-mouth factors such as a friend's recommendation or score from bona fide other gamers were the most important in influencing buying decisions. Interestingly, most respondents felt that time between base game launch and DLC launch was not a major factor in their decision to purchase -- this could be interpreted in two ways: either respondents don't mind waiting for deep content, or they feel that they won't purchase new DLC no matter what, until it's on sale. Questions 6 & 7: Price Calibration These two questions were designed to work in tandem. I was looking to anchor respondents at a $45-dollar base price for a game, and then see if raising that base price in a subsequent, identical question, caused them to re-value an associated season pass. Given the structure of the questions and the expected effect of the anchoring, the 7.8% difference in average expected price can be considered not statistically significant. Basically, the base price of a game, alone, was not enough to make gamers think differently about the value of the season pass (and, by extension, other associated content). We got a lot of feedback to these questions that price alone was not sufficient for them to evaluate the value of a season pass, and, of course, that's true. To give some insight into what I was trying to accomplish with these two questions: I was interested in whether putting a change in base price in front of a consumer's face would cause a cognitive bias that might affect his price tolerance for ancillary purchases. In other words, does price alone have a direct relationship to perception of value or further willingness to engage with a product? Looking back on this, was this question the best way to evaluate this heuristic? Probably not. I've had some suggestions for improvements that I intend to incorporate into future question series, and I'm going back to my behavioral economics texts to deepen my own understand -- but I still think the results are interesting, nevertheless. One other note: while our respondents put the desired price of season passes at around $17, in reality, RPG gamers pay about $25 for them (when purchased as a separate product, not as part of a Deluxe Edition or GotY) on average, according to industry sales data. Question 8: Free DLC Pretty clear message here: people like free DLC. 4% of respondents, however, clearly feel that DLC is not good, in any form. Question 9: Genre Preference Everyone hated this question's answer choice structure. I tried something newfangled by allowing people to drag and drop their answer choices in a stack-ranked list, and we got a ton of feedback on it. First, it apparently didn't work on mobile -- sorry about that, I should've tested it better. Second, a lot of people commented that they felt pretty much equally weak on a variety of genres but felt they were forced to rank them better than each other, anyway. This is interesting, though, because despite a lot of these comments, Sports and Casual emerged as the clear losers. You'd think that if, say, the bottom five or six genres (which is what most people said they didn't care about) were equally lousy to people, you'd have a fairly even distribution, since the order of the answer choices was randomized. So, while our respondents didn't like the way this question was structured (and I'll kill it for next time), it is interesting to see that it forced the truth out -- sports and casual games are the least liked. Therefore Obsidian is killing our latest secret project: Lord Bolingbroke Polo 2018. Just kidding, we wouldn't do a casual game. -- Conclusions All in all, lots of great takeaways here, and we'll be using the data internally to ask some even more in depth questions. For example: do people who own Pillars of Eternity DLC also own Tyranny DLC? Do Europeans have different DLC preferences from North Americans? Why do RPG fans hate sports games? There's so much to be learned here, and we are so grateful to our fans for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We will continue to get better at making surveys, and we hope you will continue to engage with us and let us know how you feel, so that we can try to make the best games possible for you. We know we can't please everybody all the time (this survey proves that), and we're not trying to do that, but if this kind of research can help us get better at making the games we love to make, then our marketing team is doing its job.
  15. Hi! I bought yesterday the new Valeros campaign on steam but I can't play it on my android. As if have merge my 2 accounts I expected that my dlc will be shared. Is it normal or not? Thanks
  16. I have just remembered that there are still the two DLCs. Right now I am on the way to Caed Nua. If I buy the two DLCs, can I still access the DLCs with my current savegame? What would be the point (story progress) of no return?
  17. Greetings, I bought pillars of eternity on the Mac Appstore. I've also purchased the 2 White March DLC from MacPlay/Appstore. However, after finishing the main plot (killing Thaos and releasing the souls), it is impossible to play the DLC content. As a matter a fact, returning to caed Nua is impossible after killing Thaos. Loading the last save before "releasing the souls" from the machine won't do anything either. I'm so disappointed. i've only purchased the two DLCs because I finished the main plot and wished to continue playing Pillars of Eternity. This was the only reason I bought them. Moreover there is no support. MacPlay tells me this, I quote their support : "If you hover over the I and II in the lower right corner of the screen, you will see that both are installed already. In order to do White March – Part I follow this: After you have gotten Caed Nua and completed Never Far from the Queen, you will be contacted by the mayor of Stalwart in the White March. She asks for your help to reawaken the white forges of Durgan’s Battery. John MacPlay http://www.macplay.com" The worst part is that I have a message from Card Nua as a steward is waiting to talk to me there (I suspect for the White March DLCs). I find this a major flaw in the game, as most DLC's are purchased after you finish the original game (which is my case) and not only available in mid game ("never far from the Queen" part), as suggested by John of macPlay. Furthermore, nowhere in the DLC description it is explained that these two DLCs are only playable after completing "Never far from the Queen" - which in fact I did. I bought the DLC's after competing the main plot on the "vanilla" game. I deeply regret having purchased this game, in spite of a wonderful content. nevertheless the games inability to provide purchased download content after completing the main plot and even from the last save is unacceptable, as nothing opposes my return alone to caed Nua after releasing those souls. I feel I've been sold something that doesn't work. I don't think that you can solve this as otherwise you would have done that already, since i'm surely not the first person to have encountered this difficulty. I demand a refund for both DLCs I purchased today.
  18. https://www.polygon.com/2017/8/19/16174510/mass-effect-andromeda-no-dlc-last-update https://twitter.com/masseffect/status/899030727089569792 Sad day in the Milky Way, This looks like a little death for the Franchise. The critical disappointment at launch, regarding the Game's Issues, seems to have led to this. I wonder what can we expect for the Future of this IP. I personaly don't want the so-called "highly awaited" Anthem to replace this Franchise. Maybe it's time for Obsidian to save another IP ! (I know this will probably never happen but... Never Say Never) Seriously though, it's really sad for Mass Effect to end like this...
  19. Hello, My problem is that I have deleted all my saves files prior to the boss fight at the end of Pillars of Eternity and this makes me unable to play the DLC that I have bought. The problem is that after the final boss fight the game ends, credits roll and I'm I'm unable to play after this point. Unfortunately I was unaware that I can't leave the final dungeon once I enter it and without the save games that I have deleted (without knowing the impact of it) my only choices is killing the boss and ending the game. Without your support the only way I could play the DLC is by starting a new game and playing it through countless hours until I reach a point (almost at the half of the campaign) where the DLC location/quest would become available. Is there any way to restore the deleted save files? Can you offer me a solution please where I don't need to start playing the whole game again? Not that I don't like it, more so because I've grown attached to my character. (I rather not download a random save file rom the web because by doing so my main character wouldn't be my own neither the choice made during the game) Thanks in advance, Sz. I'm using: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch) 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
  20. Hi Obsidian, Super excited for Deadfire. It looks amazing. Congrats on your E3 showing. I'm currently playing through Pillars with both expansions. What took me so long? Having resolved the major conflict, I was kind of meh on exploring chapters "4a" and "4b" of a book I'd already read. A quasi-sequel would have seen me loading up the White March immediately, to pick up where I left off. I'm glad I took the plunge; the expansions are great fun, but they may have been better served up like other games do it: Following the main game rather than alongside it. Now, it's awesome to add a major area or two to the main game, the way Throne of Baal added Watcher's Keep, accessible early on. Durgan's Battery and the Yenwood Field were great examples of this. I just would have preferred White March to follow the main storyline, with little risk of maxing out my characters before completing it. I'm currently level 16 all around, just getting started on White March Part 2, and I've only done a few bounties. Please consider setting Deadfire's expansions after the original story, allowing us to, say, pick up an auto-save from when we finished the game. Then we can carry on fresh, leveling potential ready for the raised cap, without feeling like we'd already reached godlike status and also retrace our footsteps. I actually might wait until the expansions land so I only need to play through the game once to see everything. Hey, I don't have as much free time as I used to! These games are huge. Thanks for reading. Bring on the pirates!
  21. Hello, I am playing on Steam. PFID# B52F9BF5E3B2A649 edit: disregard problem with missing card resolved itself. However. i still would like to report a bug where the error message displayed for trying to move a card from the deck to the Unclaimed box did not clear it self when i clicked "continue" it just zoomed in on the cards underneath the "continue" button.
  22. Hello, I just bought the white march I extension, But I do not know how to enter it. I read that it was necessary to make a backup before the pit to get back to CAD NUA. Unfortunately my last backup are all in the pits where I killed Thaos. Should I start the whole game? pfffff I do not want. is there another way? Thank you for your answers Jerome
  23. When I completed the main story I had hoped to continue the adventures with that character from that point in the expansion. To my knowledge this is how rpg expansions usually work and the official information I had read about The White March did nothing to dispel that expectation. While I'm not sure how convincingly the DLC will fit in with the main story as a basic principle such an expansion is fine. I would have appreciated to have been better informed before buying it as I started an Iron Man game and so have no save from which I could immediately enjoy the expansion. Also I usually don't replay roleplaying games, even the ones I really enjoyed, because I most of all value experiencing the story with a certain character. Generally, I really enjoyed the game. I thought the story was very well written and (most of) the characters memorable. I had to warm to the idea of 'animancy' but the story and the characters did help to make it convincing. Elements of the background I find very original and well thought out. (the political situation of all the states and for example the way race equality is promoted in Aedyr with the special marriages) The things I didn't enjoy were first of all the way backer content was integrated into the game. I honestly can't think of a more immersion breaking way and that concerns both the characters (the names!) and the memorial messages. Secondly, while the reason I play RPG's is not primarily because of the battles and the tactical elements, I think the system in PoE needs a little work because it seems to strongly favour the more powerful combattant. This becomes more obvious towards the endgame where most of the battles become quite trivial, except for the three obvious ones. I dislike having to repeatedly reload a game (and since I started an iron man game I resorted to cheating ) and hope for a better outcome. I appreciate the fact that the system PoE uses is not as developed as say D&D, but at the moment the tactical options and AI behaviour don't make tough fights (where reloading is to be expected) as fun as it could be in for example Baldur's Gate. While I prefer a Planescape: Torment approach to eliminate the need to reload altogether in these kinds of RPG's (because I play for the story) I realise opinions will be divided on the issue, but if there must be these kinds of fights at least make them a tactically stretching experience.
  24. Hi, I unlocked my backer code for a Royal Edition. Game is ok but the DLC page on Steam is empty. Something I can do about it? See screenshot http://i.imgur.com/0FKF78x.jpg?1 PS: there is no search feature in this forum? Also, uploading the screenshot here failed 3 times.
  25. Hey, new to the forums, so I thought I'd try my first post by asking: what is the possibility of having module support. To specify, I mean both fan made and official modules like in NWN and Shadowrun. I know there is already an expansion being talked about, so I guess this just sort of a suggestion more than anything. I think Pillars of Eternity would be perfect for the adventure by adventure expansion type format.
