  1. I originally purchased POE when it was first release on the Mac App Store. I played about 60 hours and bought the definitive edition today from the Mac App Store for the White March Content. I put my save games into the folder where the new definitive version kept them and am able to continue my game, but the player's portrait is missing and just a gray box. The smaller version of the portrait (used in the inventory and lower left of game screen) is gray with a red question mark. There's an eye icon which will bring a little to select a portrait, but there's not way to actually choose a portrait. (see attached images) I've seen other have had this problem, but everything I've see are from user who've purchased POE from Steam and did something with the Steam app to fix it. I've not found anything regarding this from purchase through the Mac App Store
  2. Steps to reproduce: - Go to Steam - Choose Pillars of Eternity - Click Play Expected result: I get to play the game Actual result: My computer crashes and reboots I can't upload Player.log, because it's an empty file. I'm on a 27-inch Late 2012 iMac running macOS 10.13.4. 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 24 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB I've played 39 hours of PoE on this machine, and it was working fine the last time I played it back in March 2017. When I try to upload the save game file, the forum tells me that I'm not allowed to upload that kind of file, so I'm not quite sure how to get that to you. I can play the game fine via Steam on a new MacBook Pro; it's only this machine it's crashing on. I've verified the files, then uninstalled and reinstalled the game via the Steam app, and the problem still hasn't resolved itself. Any thoughts welcomed.
  3. On the Mac side, it appears to have its own sync data in addition to the Windows sync data. It puts the Windows saves in "~/Application Support/Pillars of Eternity II" folder and the Mac saves in the "~/Application Support/Pillars of Eternity II/Saved Games". However, the game it self (both Mac & Win) load the saved games from the Saved Games folder. This causes the two platforms to be perpetually out of sync, unless you manually copy over your current saves from "~/Application Support/Pillars of Eternity II" into the Saved Games folder. -Rob [edit] Seems to have been fixed. Thank you. [edit] Correction, it hasn't been fixed. See video below.
  4. I am on Gog Fig backer version macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 8Gb Memory and Nvidia Geforce 320M 256MB I know I am underspeced, but the game is pretty well optimized on the rest of the gameplay and I think that the aforementioned screens should be the least likely to slowdown the performance,so maybe something happens there. On PoE 1 I had no such problems ,if it helps *Also sometimes running the game results in blackscreens where there is limited interaction, tht is to say you can year dialogue going but in black, sometimes it happens in the menu too. * I also found an instance where the enemy pirate ship in the opening battle disappears, its crew standing over the waves attacking normaly. I wanted to report my findings for the optimisation/bug fixing team.
  5. Hello, My problem is that I have deleted all my saves files prior to the boss fight at the end of Pillars of Eternity and this makes me unable to play the DLC that I have bought. The problem is that after the final boss fight the game ends, credits roll and I'm I'm unable to play after this point. Unfortunately I was unaware that I can't leave the final dungeon once I enter it and without the save games that I have deleted (without knowing the impact of it) my only choices is killing the boss and ending the game. Without your support the only way I could play the DLC is by starting a new game and playing it through countless hours until I reach a point (almost at the half of the campaign) where the DLC location/quest would become available. Is there any way to restore the deleted save files? Can you offer me a solution please where I don't need to start playing the whole game again? Not that I don't like it, more so because I've grown attached to my character. (I rather not download a random save file rom the web because by doing so my main character wouldn't be my own neither the choice made during the game) Thanks in advance, Sz. I'm using: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch) 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
  6. To whom it may concern: I have an active saved game on my MacBook Pro and would like to resume playing on my Windows 10 PC. Both OSs and the Steam game installs are fully up-to-date. I purchased and installed both expansions to the base game. The saves transfer properly between my Mac computers via Steam Cloud Saves. I attempted to transfer the saves to my PC via a thumb drive, but the game crashed upon the first attempted loading and no longer sees the saves, despite their presence in the save folder ("user"/Saved Games/Pillars of Eternity). I tried the "start a new game, autosave, exit, replace autosave with old save, and continue" method, but it did not work, resulting in another crash of the Windows game application. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I just installed Pillars of Eternity for the first time on my MacBook Pro Late 2013 Retina 15" running macOS Sierra. No matter whether in Window or Full Screen Mode, by mouse or by keyboard, using standard cursor keys or remapped ones: the camera just won't move. The only way to reveal a different area of the world is by using the map (open map, click somewhere, close map). Zooming in and out works, though. I searched for hours, but I haven't found any other player having this problem. This is really very annoying and keeps this great game from being actually enjoyable. Can I do something about this?
  8. I just got a new MacBook Pro and I tried moving my old install of NWN2 from my old macbook to the new one. Now, when it launches, the graphics are so oversized they don't fit on the screen. I have tried to edit every NWN2.ini file I could find on my machine (there is one in the Aspyr directory, one in the NWN2 directory and one in a backup spot. However, none of htem seem to have any affect whatsoever on resolution when the game launches. I have set them from 800x600 to 1440x960 and still the resoltion looks the same (too large) on boot up. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game with the same effect. Any thoughts on how i can get the game resolution set? My display is set on something high like 1900x1200... I've tried lowering that to match too. I want my game back! Thanks! VTMarcZ
  9. Hey everybody, I thought I would share my experience troubleshooting corrupted save files on Mac OS. This will be pretty quick. Basically, I've discovered that quitting the game with the Command + Q keyboard shortcut creates corrupted save game files, resulting in the "Continue" and "Load Game" options being greyed out on the main screen. Which files it corrupts seems random to me, because sometimes deleting older save files seems to fix the issue. It seems like the further you are in the game, the more likely you'll start seeing this. I began seeing it in what I believe is Act 2. So first, only ever quit the game with the in-game menu, and second: Use Time Machine or some other automatic backup system. If your save games are suddenly corrupt, replace everything in the save game folder with files from right before you lost the "Continue" option ( ~/Library/Application Support/Pillars of Eternity/Saved Games ). Failing this, I recommend deleting older save games one by one until the continue option is selectable again. I hope this helps someone!
  10. Hi, I’m playing 3.01 bought through the app store on a fully up-to-date Mac with a dedicated GPU (system details attached). About the only nasty bug I regularly encounter is the frame-rate-falling-off-a-cliff issue. I’ve tried to find what it is that causes this but, until today, it has always seemed random (bear in mind I only bought the game a few weeks ago). The cure is always and only to quite to desktop (quitting to main menu never cut it), re-launch and cross my fingers. Sometimes I can play for hours without encountering the bug; sometimes it’s there on re-launch and I simply have to start over. Well, today I have a what appears to be a repeatable trigger for this bug. Whenever I invoke the local area map while exploring Cliaban Rilag the frame rate bombs. I hope this is going to be a Rilag-specific problem… Anyway, feast on these files, if you like (system spec, save game, output log). Hope they help. 11. Description: Hidden "Accept" and "Cancel" buttons during save operation. It not so often, but it sometimes happens. On my MacBook Pro it around 2-3 times per 10-15 game saves (yeah, I prefer frequently saves). I'm always expect that for every save operation "Accept" and "Cancel" buttons must be displayed. Yes, I was thinking that the button has simply deleted, however that buttons in "hidden" state (or just covered once more UI layer). We can interact with this UI elements by clicking on the area, where they are really appears in the most situations. Steps to reproduce: 1. Click on the "Options" (or "Escape" key) inside game 2. Click on the "Menu" > "Save Game" button 3. Select any already created save file 4. Click on the "Save" button 5. Click on the "Cancel" button inside popup window 6. Repeat 1-6 or 3-5 steps few times until "Accept" and "Cancel" buttons at popup window doesn't disappeared Screenshot: Videorecords: 1) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24741942/video_bug.mp4 2) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24741942/video_bug2.mp4 Saves: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24741942/saves.zip System specs Model: MacBook Pro (13 inches, mid 2012) Processor: 2,5 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory: 16 Gb 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 mb Operation system: OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 (15B42) Game: Pillars of Eternity v2.03
  12. Hi all, I recently bought this on GOG and installed it. When I try to start it, a "Verifying Pillars of Eternity" window pops up, stays for a minute or so and then disappears. The game doesn't load at all. I've deleted, re-downloaded and restarted but the problem persists. I've found some stray references to it being a problem associated with the Retina screen, but it's unclear whether a workaround exists. Would be very keen to get a fix. My computer has the following specs: Macbook Pro, Retina 15", late 2013 Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB Software OS X 10.9.5 (13F1134) Any help much appreciated. Many thanks!
  13. Hi all, So recently I just built a pc and I was moving some of my games save files. I tried moving the save files from Mac to my windows side of things. Below are steps that I took. Confirmed its the latest save files. Cloud enable / sync perfectly. Manually moving from mac to windows via thumbdrive. The load option is always disable. Is there any way around this? Many thanks! Is this something that is broken? I recall people saying prior to V2 which i assume just comes out, it was working fine you to move it manually.
  14. Hi So I bought PoE via the Apple App Store (I had an iTunes gift card so why not?) While it looks like 2.0 and the expansion are available on Steam and GoG, when will the App Store have an update? I'm fine waiting a few more days since I'm playing through Shadowrun: Hong Kong right now, but a time frame would be nice. If there's no concrete time frame (I know Apple is finicky about apps) can I purchase the expansion on GoG and have it still be compatible with my game?
  15. Just bought this game and so far I love it, but I would love to be able to play in windowed mode. I also got screwed into a lower resolution. On first load the relevant graphics settings were: resolution: 1920 x 1080 fullscreen: yes I unchecked the fullscreen box and clicked apply, but nothing happened. I closed the settings, clicked "Save" when prompted, but still nothing. I restarted the game and I was still in fullscreen. I repeated this several times with the exact same results. When I uncheck fullscreen it remains checked until I leave that page, but when I return it is checked. Next I tried changing the resolution. I opened the dropdown and there were only two options, 1440 x 900 and 1280 x 800. I selected 1440 x 900, unchecked fullscreen, and applied. The resolution was set correctly, but still no fullscreen. Exited, settings and clicked save, fullscreen. Restarted, fullscreen again. I reopened the game and tried to set my resolution back to 1920 x 1080, but it was not an available option. I changed to the smaller resolution and repeated the same process as above without fullscreen. I changed back to 1440 x 900 successfully, but still not windowed mode and still no 1920 x 1080. I reloaded the game a few more times but made no progress. The resolution isn't as big of a deal as the windowed mode for me. I bought the game through GOG and installed using their Galaxy Client. System settings: OSX Yosemite 10.10.4 (14E46) MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB 15.4-inch (2880 x 1800)
  16. I have a new Retina MacbookPro 15 inch AMD Radeon R9 M370X. Downloaded the game via Steam. No trouble. But it won't launch. Screen goes black, small "Preparing"-screen appears and then nothing. Similar to the launching problems already reported. Only that the workaround with the original file from the library doesn't work either. Kind of frustrating. Anyone else has this problem? Player.log.zip
  17. There is another thread on this topic with plenty of information, but does not seem to have any response even though many people are consistently having this issue even after the most recent patch. I have had it intermittently since I purchased the game 2 months ago. At first it seemed to be solved by turning of Steam Sync, then it came back. Then it seemed to be solved by deleting as many additional saves as possible. Then it seemed to be solved by the first autosave "clearing" somehow - IE if I tried to quick or manual save, it would crash, but after an autosave triggered, it would go away. Now it is back again for auto, quick, and manual saves. PLEASE AT LEAST RESPOND TO THIS ISSUE. Many people have it and the game, while excellent, is not cheap. I and everyone else expects more for this price. I am on a MacBook Pro late 2013 Retina, 10.10.2, 2.4 Intel i5, 8 GB RAM 1600 MHz DDR3, Iris Intel 1536 MB
  18. I downloaded the game from the Ap Store, where can I find the serial code to sync with Steam or did I have to download it through them? Using Mac OSX Yosemite. Cheers
  19. Hello everyone, So in the middle of my second play-through (thief on PoD) my game suddenly hits a huge amount of lag and runs choppy from there on out. No amount of reloading other saves or the game helps, but waiting a few days seems to. Except it ran smoothly for about 20 minutes before returning to THE SUCK. From what I've seen online it's either blamed on the system or the 3D characters, but these don't make sense to me because I ran a entire play-through without a single graphics incident. Is it just a matter of waiting for a patch, or can I do anything? Specs: Running the game on low graphics Mac OS X Yosemite 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB Thanks guys and gals, Kyle
  20. Description: Cannot change the game to fullscreen on an external monitor. When I do that, the screen turns black (but I can hear the game music). Running the game in windowed mode on the external display does work. Running the game in fullscreen on the built-in display (MacBook Pro) does work. Steps to Reproduce the Issue * Launch the game from Steam on the external monitor * The game starts in Windowed mode (I have configured the game to windowed mode with the built-in display only to be able to see anything) * In Options -> Graphics select: - Resolution: 2560 x 1440 (native resolution of the external display, though I've tried other resolutions and that fails as well) - Check Fullscreen - Close settings window for settings to take effect -> Game window changes size to 2560 x 1440, but no fullscreen (Player.log says "Could not find requested mode.") - Choose Fullscreen in the Pillars of Eternity menu bar -> Changes to fullscreen but the screen is just black (Player.log says "Could not find requested mode.") 21. I'm crashing consistently when moving from one area to the next. I'm playing version 1.0.4.0540-steam of the game on OS X 10.10.3. I've gathered my Player.log, autosave game file, and system info into a zip file. You can get it from this dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xg0e1rb09nnl85k/PoE_crash_when_loading_new_area.zip Let me know if you need anything else. Carl
  22. I am playing the Mac Os X version in German. My character (sorcerer) is still at level one although my experience is 13484/1000. Stamina is still 30/30 and I don't have a clue how to change that. Is this a bug?
  23. After having defeated Thaos, three characters are frozen and cannot be selected and upon clicking on the machine the game crashes and when you start up again, you load at the beginning of the end fight. Anybody else experienced this or know how to solve it? Playing on a macbook pro.
  24. I play PoE using Steam on my Macbook Pro and on my Windows machine, but the savegames are not syncing between two platforms.
