  1. Can't find a report button in the app nor in this forum so I'll post it here. General (For all issues) Device type: iPad OS: iOS 10.2.1 Model: iPad Pro 12.9" PFID#: 7913 Gameplay issue: pass & play off permadeath off Quest Mode Characters in Party - Seelah, Lem, and Lini Location - don't remember Turn Order - as above Scenario & Scenario Difficulty. Can't see since screen is crashed What card was encountered when the issue occurred - after permanently closing location, where location power was to recharge item. Did the issue occur on the first explore or a subsequent explore? If subsequent, what card did you last encounter? What was its resolution? - iirc, just defeated villain. Did other characters aid the check? What did they use to aid it? - don't remember Was the encounter a Horde? No. Quest mode now opens to screen to recharge item from discard pile, but I can't do so nor cancel it. Thus quest mode is now unplayable.
  2. I've got a bit of an odd bug where when I try to either build a new party or manage a party in story mode, the game just crashes me back to the 'desktop' of my phone. It's been persistent through the past two updates - I'd hoped that one of those update/reinstalls would fix the issue, but no dice. Any ideas? The crash started happening right after I bought the updated Kyra, and I'm suspicious of that, as it occurred for the first time when I was trying to select her alternate-gear outfit, and then thereafter whenever I tried to play with that party, and whenever I tried a new party. After a while of this, I deleted that party, intending to re-make it - but it crashes whenever I try to build a party at all. I'm able to play my other two parties (neither of which contain Kyra), and I'm able to play Quest mode, including using the alternate Kyra there. I'm on an Iphone 6, PFID-6D8DD3A42EB2814D, if that helps.
  3. At a check for the last stone head location before the boss’ location is unlocked. Merisiel has fallen and all other characters are at the same location. Kyra failed the check to defeat the stone head. After all damage was resolved, Kyra had one card in her hand (Favor of Shelyn). I was then presented with the choice to either shuffle or place on top the stone head card. Selecting ‘Top’ made the choices disappear for a moment, and then the game crashed. Upon reloading of the game, I was presented with the same decision of ‘Shuffle’ or ‘Top’, and the game will crash a moment after either selection. I cannot click on any other button when I reload and the ‘Shuffle’ or ‘Top’ prompt is on, nor can I quickly click on any button for the moment after I made my selection but before the game freezes and crashes. I have also uninstalled the game, rebooted the phone, and reinstalled the game, but I am still at the same spot when I resign in. I play this game on my Google Pixel phone, and have tried to get by this spot on my Samsung Galaxy S6 phone, but have the exact same issue. Is there a way I can quit out of this mission and restart it? I just want to get by this spot, as I am pretty far in the story. Thank you in advance. (IE, you just encountered an enchanter and failed the check, and on an additional explore you ran into a blessing of the gods but didn't auto acquire it) It occurred on the first explore. It happened when I failed to defeat the stone head, and I had the option to either shuffle the card or place it on top. After either selection, the game will freeze and crash. On reload, I am presented with the selection to either shuffle or place on top, and after either selection, the game will crash. · Did other characters aid the check? What did they use to aid it? No, N/A · Was the encounter a Horde? (Skeleton Horde, Goblin Raid, Zombie Nest, Zombie Horde, Garrison Location Power w/ multiple characters, Henchmen encounter in Black Fang w/ multiple characters) No, it was the ‘henchmen’ of the location – the stone head.
  4. Hello, I have a new installation of POE that is crashing randomly. The attached save game is in a location where I shortly encounter combat. When the combat became significant the game crashed.   5. I just purchased the game for my iPad. I can go to the store. I can make purchases. I can go to settings. I have not unlocked story or quest yet. If I try to press start game, the game crashes back to my iPad home screen.

I have a 4K display, and when I have my desktop at 4K (3840x2160) and run the game, it won't actually run at anything more than 1080p (1920x1080) unless I turn off DPI scaling for the executable. I hated the way it limited how close I could zoom in once I was at that resolution, so I opted for 2K (2560x1440), but then I ran into a separate problem. If I changed my desktop resolution to anything less than 4K and tried to run the game, it crashed with no report. Then I tried to switch back and launch at 4K, and it crashed with no report again. I spent a while before figuring out that I had to either run the game with display scaling on at 4K and 200% scaling to get the 1080p screen manager settings in the game's registry options, or to turn display scaling off and launch at 1080p to get the same settings written to registry. The crash is a 0xC0000005 (Access Violation) in ntdll.dll somewhere in LdrpApplyFileNameRedirection. There's no relevant stack frames above that I can reference, the stack appears to be crapped on, and the instruction that accessed an invalid address is "mov [ebp-6], 1" so ... the address is a stack variable, and the stack is probably long gone if it can't write to just 6 past the stack frame pointer. I can reproduce it quite easily. Workaround; Delete the registry key (HKCU\Software\Obsidian Entertainment\Pillars of Eternity) for the game's settings and run the game with DPI scaling compatibility off at 1920 x 1080. Then you can fool around with it some more. You're not getting a crash dump (there wasn't one) or a full spec (other than Win 10 x64, nVidia GF 980M 4K notebook) from me on this one. Could be a driver bug (eh... it's not) ... could be a windows bug (perhaps) ... but it's probably either stack mishandling or a bad call from a mono managed assembly, maybe a unity engine bug, maybe a legit game bug. None of my other unity engine games exhibit this behavior. Edit: Fix some stupid wording errors, typos, and sleep-deprived logic.

Created this account to say two things on this forum: Damned fine game you created Damn buggy one at that Allow me to expand on the second point: I have an Archos 101e Tablet and I get random crashes all the time. I can usually play 10 minutes at a time, when the planets are aligned, and otherwise the game just crashes to "desktop", while it still counts as opened on the background. If the game was not good, I would give it to the second crash and uninstall. Since it's like a legal version of some high grade drug, I installed it on my cellphone (Huawei something or the other) and it works like a charm (a slightly buggy charm). It no longer crashes but has some very serious issues. Playing it on a tablet (or on a PC *wink wink*) is the greater experience. Please fix this and/or let me know how to help you fix this so I can throw money at your game. Cheers!
  8. Hi, I cannot visit Durgan's Battery - no matter from which location. The game crashes during loading screen. So far, I've tried lowering graphics setting, disabling vsync, lowering the framerate from max to 75 - did not seem to make a difference. I/m using GOG version of the game (I have both expansions installed), version 3.02 (as far as I can tell).   9. Hi guys, I'm having a lot of fun with the game. I've purchased the full campaign and the daily gold bonus. Today, I seem to have run into a progression blocker (corrupted save?) during Gogmurt's boss fight in Approach to Thistletop (1-4). Attempts to continue my game closes/crashes the app to the iOS springboard. Steps to reproduce IIRC are listed below. General What device type are you on? iPad What version of the OS are you running? iOS 8.1 What model is the device? iPad Air 2 What is your PFID#? PFID-9B361BFFD3E20774 Gameplay Is pass & play on? No Is permadeath on? No Tutorial, Story Mode, or Quest Mode? Story Mode Characters in Party Seelah (Paladin), Ezren (Wizard) Location of each character I don't remember Turn Order I don't remember Scenario & Scenario Difficulty. If on non-normal difficulties, which wildcard powers are in play? Approach to Thistletop 1-4 (normal) Did the issue occur on the first explore or a subsequent explore? First explore of turn. Did other characters aid the check? What did they use to aid it? n/a Was the encounter a Horde? No What card was encountered when the issue occurred? (Or check, or card just played, etc) Closed 2 of 4 locations normally. Encountered boss goblin Gogmurt with Ezren and temporarily closed last other open location with Seelah. Gogmurt rolled the "Before you act" fire damage (3), but I hadn't yet picked any cards to discard. I believe I then put the iPad down and it eventually auto-timed out to the lock/off screen (and autosaved?). Continuing my game (autosave?) after this point crashes to iOS springboard.   10. Hi, my game just crashed and I got this message: I was in Stalwart, inside Thirsc's house. It happened after I read his soul (doing this for the Durgan Battery's Cantec quest), when I left his house, imediately after the transition screen from the house to the village, it crashed.   11. Please help! My characters are trapped! I am admittedly running the game on old hardware, an iPad 2. As a result, it crashes occasionally, and I've gotten used to putting up with that. But now I've reached a point where it crashes 100% consistently, and I am stuck. I have a team of 6 characters, and they have decided to start "Before the Flood", on Legendary difficulty. When I enter Story Mode, they are already committed to this, and the first screen I get is the "During this scenario" page which tells me about Black Magga, and also tells me which random wildcard powers have been assigned. After that I reach the page where I get to drag my characters to their starting locations, and then the page where I can change their turn order. After that I get the map, then the animation of Magga breaking the dam and starting down the river. Then I get the inter-scene screen showing the game's main logo, and then the game *always* crashes. If I could at least start at the Adventure page (i.e. the page where you can pick which adventure/scenario you want to play), I could avoid this and choose a different adventure for them. But when I go in to Story mode again, my characters are still committed to starting "Before the Flood". Throughout this, the "gear" button is available, but the "Forfeit" button is greyed out. If it weren't, it could save me. I know some tricks to help avoid crashing (restart the device, close all other apps) ... with those, I get as far as I described. (Without them, it usually crashes even earlier.)
  12. Hi guys! I haven't seen any other post about this, so here goes. My game works alright-ish (cutscenes crash the game sometimes but i just fast-forward through them that's not the problem at hand), but when I get to the Randy's abortion minigame, it works until after you finish sedating Randy's groin. Once it's sedated, the game blacks out and you can't play the game anymore. I play it on my PC with a mouse and keyboard setup, so I don't know if that affects the gameplay or not. Do i need to contact ubisoft support or is there a fix to this? Any tips would be great, thanks.

IOS Ipad Permadeath, Legendary, Quest Sajan on Apothecracy Scenario Power - Giants deals 1 damage after defeat, After Monster is defeated roll d6 on a 1 deal 2 damage..forgot the last one aside from adjacent location movement only. encountered the Golem Boss ( one who discards and reset hand on 2nd combat check) on the said location ( one where you roll d6 heal if you don't explore on the turn ) Defeated him on both checks..the giant damage scenario kicks in as he runs away to another location (map view) then as he is running AI rolls a 1 on the d6 scenario power..i can't discard now coz of map view Then view reshifts to location, AI ask to discard 1 ( defeated a giant), i discard Then AI asks again to discard 1 (should be discard 2..but what the heck ) i discard ThenAI ask againto discard 1 (now the number of discard should be right), i discard my last card in hand..the ally that heals when buried or give + to divine checks. Game freezes for a bit then crashes. I reload..continue quest..it reloads me to the last discard before i crash..i discard again as asked..then crashed.. Try again..same result. Might be forfeiting.
  14. Description The game always crashes right after I've made it to the point where I can move my character the first time. Sometimes it might crash while the first monolog is coming, sometimes I can move around for about 1-30 seconds first. I deleted the one time I made it so far I could perform a save because I thought there might be something wrong with that save file and then tried a new character, but I haven't made it so far I could perform another save game yet. I've fully reinstalled my graphics card drivers, I've reinstalled the game in Steam and have verified the cache, I've stopped every process in the backround I could, I've tried both low and high graphics (low seems to work a few more seconds than high), I've fiddled around with framerates, V-sync, resolution and full screen mode, I've tried using the game as an administrator and I've tried every other solution I've been able to find during hours of searching with Google. Alas, nothing has helped and practically I haven't been able to play past character creation. My computer should run this game with ease so I'm not sure what's wrong here. Not a single other game has had this problem before and I've ~20 games in my collection with franchises such as XCOM 2 running smoothly with high graphic settings.   15. Hello, I have a lot of crashes when I backup or I change areas. This completely blocks my computer, I have to restart.   16. I'm running the the newest GOG version of PoE (GOG v2.8.0.14), and it's crashing immediately when I run it. As soon as I start it, I get an error popup saying "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way". Earlier versions of PoE have worked fine, but it's been a while since I updated. I've tried fresh installs, and have downloaded from both the GOG downloader and directly from the website. I do not have any DLC installed, this is a fresh vanilla install. I do get an error log, which is attached. output_log.txt

  18. Game is fine until the very first sequence for the Gilded Vale loads (where caravan is standing around campfire). When the first NPC in this sequence takes a step, game crashes to desktop w/ no error.   19. Hello, I just purchased the game a couple days back from the Apple store. I installed, booted up, created a character. The game begins with the beginning of the dialogue, but then it simply crashes and I cannot continue. What are the steps to resolve this? Thank you, Dale

  22. I have random game crashes. It happens often without a reason. Starts after Caed Nua (or near that). After crash, i can load savegame and go farther. But this crashes very annoying.   23. Hi guys, Hoping you can help me fix this issue I am having. First of all I am using the GOG version of PoE. I cannot play for more than a few minutes without this crash happening. Description: Last night, with an FPS limiter on (not sure if helped), alt tabbing to frequently monitor all temps/fan speeds, I was able to play almost 30 minutes and quit without crashing. Otherwise, every other attempt (20+) has resulted in said crash that requires a reboot. I had an identical issue with Terraria the same day I picked up PoE, but that was resolved by disabling cloud support for the character/world I was using. It's also worth mentioning I used to have this issue with Minecraft a year or two ago (same PC), but never resolved so quit playing. That's where I got the frame limiter idea from after reading some threads, because I remember Minecraft frequently running at like 350 FPS and a squealing from a capacitor of some sort on my video card. I really hope this isn't a physical graphics card issue. It's also worth mentioning that I can play Skyrim at a smooth 60 fps with about 250+ mods installed (including ENB effects) with zero issues other than the occasional CTD (which is almost inevitable with so many mods). Steps to Reproduce the Issue: Ok so when I launch PoE, the game will TYPICALLY crash just after getting into my save, usually seconds after. On a couple occasions this has happened just before loading my save, and once at the game's start menu. This pattern (or lack thereof) has been repeated 20-30 times. I've had ONE success (see above) and that was last night which I had hoped had resolved the issue, but this morning it immediately crashed again upon loading my safe and running about 20 feet with my character. This was in the second area of the game, just after escaping the winds in the caravan camp. Important Files: I have my dxdiag.txt and output_log.txt attached but it says "You aren't permitted dto upload this kind of file" when I try to attach one or more of my save files.
