  1. about half of my party hasnt its talents listed completly (some have 3,4 or 5 talents listed on lvl 12) i asumme this is leftover from dubleclicking bug 1) at leasts some of those talens are calculated in though they arent listed on character sheet (example sword and shield talent tested with deequipiipng and equipping a shield and seing the right bonuses to deflection and reflex) but i cant confirm that that is the case with all talents*(point 3) 2) but conequence of them not being shown on character sheet is that the game offers you to take them agan(second time)- i have tested what outcome of double taking the same talent is with weapon and shield style is and it stacks (aditional +6 to deflection and reflex) but again dont know what general behaviour is (do they stack bein OP, or do they owerlap, having wasted a talent) 3) im pretty sure i took wildstrike burn with Hiravias, and later shock and greater shock, but only shock dmg is calculated (i asumme wildstrike 'element' talents are mutualy exclusivew maybe) but i cannot confirm as i dont have old enough save wherebefore i took shock and not all the talents are listed (aditional testing by other members of comunity afflicted by the bug would be welcome) in conclusion when fixing this bug it would be necesary to check if a character has taken same talent twice or mutualy exclusive talents, remove what is extra and offer the player te option to take a replacement talent PS: i also found than in my playtrough and one of my friends Eder has one talent to much compared to what he shoud have due to talent progression (when i took hem he was lewel 3) but again i have no means of testing how/when that happens until my second playtrough ** on my friends other playtrough eder was picked up at level 2 and has correct number of talents i will upload my save file if neccesary ***full disclosure i have only a save after i respected Edar with IE mod and given him back an extra talent, and earlier in the game i used this method (pre patch) of manualy correcting defences resulting from stacking bug and testing was done after that, but bug was present before of both tinkerings, and to my understanding of both metods they shouldnt have affected the bug or testing in any way (i didnt modify Hirvais in any way with ether method, and he vas used for testing) and the bug is persisting with or without mod DxDiag.txt output_log_Superior Defence stacking.txt output_log_weapon_and_shield_stacking.txt

I just ran into another problem: My char is lvl a lvl 12 paladin using sword/battle-axe and buckler and i gave him the Weapon and Shield talent, which is supposed to add +6 deflection and add the deflection bonus of the shield to reflex as well. Example for the skill working as intended: Using the Outworn Buckler upgraded to Exceptional ( + 8 Def + 8 Def(excecptional) + 6 Def (from Weapon and Shield) + 5 Def (from Herald)= + 27 Deflection -Withouth Shield: 70 Deflection and 77 Reflex on Char -Outworn Buckler equipped: 97 Deflection and 104 Reflex, both values have been correctly raised by +27 So i kept on playing for a couple of hours, only using Quick- and Autosaves and all of a sudden i realise, that my defensive boni are not being applied correctly anymore. Now with Little Savior: + 8 Deflection + 12 Deflection (from superb) + 5 Deflection (from Herald) + 6 Deflection (from Weapon and Shield) = +31 Deflection Withouth Shield: 72 Deflection , 77 Reflex With Shield equipped: 97 Deflection, 82 Reflex -> +25 Deflection and +5 Reflex. This means that the Weapon and Shield talent has become inactive for some reason. Both values should be raised by +31 though. Is there anything i can do about this? Thx in advance. Ps: I tried to link screenshots from Screenshotboard on Steam....but once again this forum wouldn't let me link or upload ANY pictures at all....so unfortunately I had to remove all of them.   3. It's not a major bug. However, after finishing up the quest and receiving the reward from Kaenra. If I attempt to talk to her again she will continue to ask about "What happened with Purnisc? Did you give him the ring?" The steps I took through the quest was 1. Talk to Kaenra 2. Talk to fake Purnisc 3. Go upstairs and talk to real Purnisc 4. At this point I diverged somewhat and went back to talk to Kaenra to see if I could somehow get some assistance before confronting the wizard. At this point she would say the same lines of "What happened with Purnisc?" So I just assumed the developers didn't think someone would try to talk to her before the confrontation. 5. Killed the wizard 6. Talked to Purnisc upstairs 7. Talked to Kaenra and finished the quest. I would upload the log but it just gives me an "This upload failed" error.
  4. The boots of speed are bugged. The boots of speed work when they are first equipped however after the first encounter they fail to work until they have been reequipped. A similar problem occurs with the gloves of archery. When first equipped the item functions however after the first encounter the item fails until it is reequipped.
  5. Dear Obsidian, Being a huge fan of titles like Baldur's Gate I took Path of the Damned difficulty simply so this wonderful experience would last as long as possible. I wanted to be forced to eat consumables and search for items that help with certain enemies and experience the game in it's full potential rather than just run through the game on normal without any serious challenge. The game still seemed too easy... Boring... There is only one initial playthrough of the game and now that I am close towards the end I realised mine is ruined. I did a quick bug search and sure enough my Eder is overpowered due to stacking bug and the game is too easy. I also experienced other bugs like the Raedric Castle problem. They way I see it yet again I was sold a car without a wheel. It is that simple. Yet another product in the gaming industry that is unfinished, rushed, clearly broken. If this would be any other industry we would never hear the end of it. Just imagine calling help line of some company saying "You sold me a coffee machine that gives tea" and hearing "This is a known issue". Do you know who buys these game right after the release or even pre order ? Your most dedicated fans. The new normal is to poke us in the eyes with a stick and turn us into slave testers. I feel offended obsidian. The experience I bought from you is broken. You send a clear and loud message: "DO NOT PRE ORDER" & "DO NOT BUY RIGHT AFTER RELEASE" Regards, exFan

  7. So the only real issue I have with the game is occasionally I get this weird graphics breakdowns, not sure any other way to describe them. You can see how it generally looks in the screenshots I attached. When the issue happens i tend to immediately exit to the main menu, and then either it goes black screen and back to normal, saying the display drivers crashed and recovered, or i get a BSOD and the whole PC restarts PC specs: win 7 32-bit 4GB RAM Radeon HD4870 AMD Phenom II x3 710 I know I'm scraping the bottom of the minimum specs, but besides that it works great, and I can even sometimes get a few good hours with no issue at all.   9. Hello, Since 1.03 I encountered a variety of bugs with the UI. The first looted item per game state appears in the following loot tables. There it will move from the "loot all" symbol to the "stash" symbol in 1 second where it disappears (It was "Living Wood" for me) Some item icons don't scale properly. I have found the axe "Hearth Harvest" i.e. which is taking twice the space of an inventory spot: Additionally, when I reload the game the hunter pet is not with the party but appears in another place on the map. Happened once so far.
  10. Hello everyone! First, i want to say the best words for creators of Pillars of Eternity! I falled in love with it at first 10 minutes of playing! Sorry for my English. Here some bug i found in Pillars of Eternity 1.03. 1. ALT button isn't working. I changed my control settings (cause default settings actualy is not playable) and set LeftAlt for Highlight Items. Close and save changes. Then i tryied to hold LeftAlt on, but nothin is happened at all. Then i return a default set of Highlight Items on floor (TAB). And it is working. So i beggin' you to fix this problem. Please! I have MS Windows 8.1 x64, PoE 1.0.3. 2. Default control settings - disgusting (rly). Here a best settings, based on 20+ years of game practice and world rpg-gaming standarts: Camera Up - W Camera Down - S Camera Left - A Camera Right - D Highlight Items - LeftAlt (Diablos, Path of Exile, Neverwinters etc.) Map - TAB (Diablo, Path of Exile etc.) Double Speed - E Half Speed - Q Pick All Items from container - R (Skyrim...) Select All Units - Z (cause A is used) With these settings any player would feel more comfort with playing (just try, and tell me i'm wrong ) ) Or Create a Contro Settings Sets (2 ot 3...).   11. 1. Middle, top shelf in Stronghold library can't be looted (it cannot be selected). 2. An issue with doors not opening sometimes and needing multiple clicks. 3. On Madhmr Bridge, the gold plated character overlooking the break in the bridge, it's "dialouge" repeats twice. Just my two pence.
  12. I apologize in advance if the following issues are already known. Bug 1: An intelligence bonus is seemingly extending the duration in which a certain fixed damage is applied. It's unclear for me whether it's just a poor description of the actual effect (more damage in total) or a real bug. Bug 2: If I first add one skill point to Athletics, and then revert the action, then it subtracts too much from the "points spent" and adds too much to the "points left", which means one could possibly spend more points than available. I didn't test if this can actually be applied. In any case, there is some bug that could be fixed. Bug 3: When opening the map, then alt+tabbing out and then opening the game again, the map gets distorted. I want to mention that I didn't get any serious bugs since the patch, so, good work, and thanks.
  13. I am somewhat unclear as to whether or not this should be happening... After maintaining spiritshift form for somewhere between the 5-10 seconds, the effect just ends. The combat logs show that the ability was deactivated as well. None of the tooltips display a duration to the shift effect, which implies it lasts until the end of combat. Is this supposed to be happening?

Hello, I did read the post regarding file attachments, however, I have been keeping a document open while I play and just recording bugs without making saves when they occured, so I have nothing to attach...sorry. Many of these bugs are general occurences rather than ones in specific situations so I'm not sure how useful that'd have been anways. I'm sure some, if not many, have already been reported, so I'm sorry for any unintentional repostings. Bugs: -Skaen is in the wrong area of the cyclopedia, it should be in deities instead of lore. -Edge scrolling on quick save results in the camera continuing on in that direction. -Wizard's arcane assault is not gauging distance properly, constantly forcing the caster to get way too close. -Many of the backer NPCs, lone ones in particular, can be killed to get decent equipment—especially in the beginning of the game—without any reputation loss/hostility from surrounding NPCs. -Sneaking into and out of the archives in the temple of Wael doesn't turn the NPCs in the temple hostile until you re-enter the building, despite the guard seeing you enter and exit, which, when done in other areas where you're not supposed to enter without permission, immediately makes all the NPCs hostile. -The Doemenel Servant in the bedroom across the hall from Gedmar's room can be killed without reputation loss/hostility allowing the chest and cabinet to be looted. -There is no way to delete notes, or at least no documented way to do so. -If the screen doesn't have the NPCs in frame you can't hear them bantering. -The mugged noble outside of the Salty Mast disappeared upon reloading a quick save, leaving only the puddle of blood. -Upon initially entering the Salty Mast, Kana's spoken line doesn't have a voice over, whereas the other NPC's quips do. -Stash is not restricted when inside Ramshackle House in Odra's Gift (where Aefre is) -Taking notes in the journal occasionally wont type keys bound to UI shortcuts, instead it performs those functions, dispelling the journal, or reopening it if the journal hotkey was pressed. -Fulvano's amulet doesn't grant the bonus to healing it is supposed to, however, it does change the amount healed in the descriptions of the healing spells. Also, it doesn't change the amounts healed in the spell descriptions back to their unaltered amounts when removed.
  15. The npc Riply who should be in a room next to the locked door to north ward in Sanitarium is missing. Can't get into that room in any other way, can't progress. The statues does not talk to me anymore, and all dialogs with other NPCs in Sanitarium are exhausted. the game is just broken. It's a beta. You can ignore bugged side quests where the game does not notice that you actually did what you were suppose to do. I am not a tester, I wouldn't do anything else If I uploaded every single broken quest (The man who waits, At all Costs, Supply and Demand, and even another story quest Never far from the queen which I had to complete several times before the game noticed, to name just a few biggest ones). I am not going back 5 hours to trace where I made some game breaking decision.

I'm going to try to target bugs I haven't seen reported or may need more examples: *Note, attaching my save and other info in the google drive link below, including screen caps if I have them for said issues: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_GtIS7GOnODUUxHNkVab1Vkb28/view?usp=sharing Possible Outworn Buckler issue: The "Herald" effect on the Paladin only shield "Outworn Buckler" seems to be behaving interestingly. a. It affects your entire party exactly like a focus (+5 to all defenses to everyone in a radius which is SWEET but is it intended?) b. The "Herald Focus" also seems to sometimes go on enemies in close proximity which I'm guessing is a bug even if the first part is by design!! I'm not able to reproduce b. on some brief tests, but I did see it happen once. Another example of higher than normal defenses: I know this is known but there seems to be a couple variations of the inflating stats bug so I thought it may be helpful to see more examples. My characters are mostly affected by having higher than normal deflection, will,etc defense stats(which may be related to the shield issue?). Check them out via the save/screen cap of Durance? Zealous focus icon sometimes getting "stuck": There are several occurrences where my Paladin's (Pallegina) Zealous focus icon got "Stuck" on everyone no matter how close/far they were. However, watching their stats it did increase/decrease properly when moving in and out of the radius so this is a minor graphical bug. Note: I have the accuracy one. Pallegina -DR bug or intended?: Speaking of Pallegina, she has a -2 base DR and -3,-2,-2 on pierce, fire, ad ice attacks if you take off all her armor - is this an Avian godlike minus or not intentional, it may be a good idea to put a description of whatever it is in here character sheet? Interesting if it's intended considering Paladins are supposed to be pretty tanky or at least you would think..? Penetrating blast and penetrating shot stack, intended or bug?: Penetrating blast (Wizard class ability) and Penetrating shot (Modal ability) stack , so -10 DR every blast hit which is really nice, maybe a bit too nice? The main range attack gets it's -5 as it should but the blast gets both together for -10DR advantage from what I saw in the combat log. Feedback: Scrolls, Lore req red on mouse over for attack spells: If you hover over a scroll than can only be used in combat it shows the Lore requirement as "RED" like you don't have the lore skill, guessing what it's supposed to mean is you can't use it right now. It's a bit confusing however, it would be better I think for it to show the normal "white lore requirement met" text, and then just have it greyed out as normal on the quickbar slot, makes sense to me I don't think any additional feedback is needed. Rogue backstab "Passive", thoughts on it's usefulness: I have a really hard time getting a backstab off, I've been doing my best to get stealth as high as possible so I'm not sure if at really high levels it's a lot easier, but need that mechanic skill so yeah got to balance it some. With Stealth 7 most things seem to see me before I can get a proper backstab off. It is fun to use the invis ability then backstab/sneak attack in battle but it would be nice if it was a little easier to open with a backstab as a rogue. So basically since the invis ability is only 2 per rest plus having to get close enough in the time given plus it being very hard to use backstab as an opener, it makes it a very rarely used passive. Possible ideas to improve: a. Decrease it's dmg bonus and let it stack with sneak attack to make it a more worthy "passive". b. Make it always work if within the first 2 seconds of battle (like sneak attack does?) but only that one time, or have it on an interval timer? Backstab on first hit, another one passively happening after 10-15 seconds, something like that? c. Make it an active ability instead of a passive (1 per encounter?) I like this idea the best and it would feel very rogue like to "activate" a backstab. If this is considered too damaging, reducing the bonus to maybe 1.75/1.50 would be acceptable in my opinion.

  18. (Not sure if this is the right forum page but...) Hi, I'm loving the game even if my computer goes blue screen of death or even just freezes up 1 out of 3 times i play. The issue seems to occur mostly in the character select screen but has it also happen in game at various points. This of course can be due to my computer specs but as fare as i can tell it lives up to your requirements. Is it a known issue or am i just doomed? I would also like to know if it looks like my hardware is up to par? Or if there a conflict with the game?   19. As I said in the **** my game freezers after it displays the kickstarter screen. I've set it up to run in administrator and my pc should have no problem running it as I'm well above minimum specs. It also freezes if I try to skip the opening dev screens.
  20. WARNING - some spoilers. (not many though) Secondary Warning, fairly lengthy. Bugs---- So far I've encountered relatively few bugs, and none of them have caused me any real headaches. I generally look in the steam discussions (forums) for answers to whatever I'm looking for. When this inevitably fails, I head to Obsidians forums (this generally fails as well), but this means I'm constantly alt-tabbing in and out of the game, which may be why some of these appeared. I'll list em, starting with the worst of them. - After alt-tabbing quite heavily I went to save my game in case I'd forgotten before I alt-tabbed out. All saves for my current character (except the autosave) had disappeared. Quite frightening. I now have a backup of my saves. - While attempting to use my keep page, the scroll down somehow got stuck. Nothing I did would allow its normal function. Closing the game and re-opening it fixed this. - Every once in awhile, my characters will lose most of their ai. Highlighting everyone and telling them to attack a target will generally result in 2 out of 6 of them attacking said target while the rest stand there, forcing me to manually click each of them and force attack the target individually. At the same time their pathing seems to disappear, and if the target/location isn't available as a straight line, they will cease to move/attack again. - While in the inventory screen highlighting certain items on the character (generally the head/necklace/belt slots) will be blurry and shift side to side a pixel or two rapidly. - NPC's (Eder) have unnaturally high hp, and some stats of npcs dont match up with created characters. - Not sure if bug but after a mission from the keep, it says to check your halls chest for rewards, there are no rewards. As far as I can remember, that is all the bugs I've seen. Thoughts/Suggestions Stats-- Now I've not gone heavily into testing stats but it seems to me that currently Con is the weakest. Just thinking out relatively straight numbers Con could be changed to a flat 5 hp and 1% hp and end per point. Early on, this is a small increase to anyone who uses the stat over the current Con, later levels would have a slight decrease for anyone with high hp/end. Also, I saw a suggestion on these forums for Con to effect armor recharge reduction, which I'd like but am currently unsure if it's needed based on; Armor-- I've generally run the game so far as having the flimsiest armor I can reasonbly live with for attack speeds (Mage/priest in robes, tanks in plate/heavy everyone else in between). I had just reached Dyrford Ruins and the boss battle (the first shot at it) killed all my characters in under 10 seconds (well, 3 of my party was dead in 4 seconds, no way I could win after that). Based on this, I decided if they are hitting me this severely, I will put EVERYONE in high DR armor, and be damned with the reduction in speed. This caused the fight to drag out barely. It also caused me to win with nearly no health lost at all. Since, I've been running around in heavy armor (without realizing it at first, because I had forgotten I switched their armors out) and I have been surviving FAR better. I have not noticed (and if I have, it's a small change) to my speeds. While I like being able to survive everything on everyone now (for the most part) I feel this is very unbalanced, especially for roleplaying. Weapons-- After playing with multiple characters, and especially on my rogue, I began noticing that certain weapons just didn't cut it. My first rogue used stilettos, and did very subpar damage (yes I had spikes) but in general I'd see mainly 4's, with a bit of spikes in the 6 range, when the stars aligned I'd get 10-15's. After making a new rogue based on new information about stats and weapons, I began using maces. I still attack almost as quickly as stilettos, but I do 15 average, with high spikes. Where I'd stab about 3 or 4 times to take off 1 little diamond (I assume 20% of the enemies hp/end?) on my first rogue, I take off two, sometimes 3 of the enemies 'diamonds' (40-60?%) in one hit using maces. I'm also more accurate, somehow. I just feel weapons in general need a bit of love here. Weapon speeds-- I've seen it crop up here before, but having an actual number for weapon speeds instead of relative terms (average, slow) would greatly help in determing what we wish to use in our builds. Classes-- My latest playthrough has no Wizard. Looking through my old parties to see weak links, the weakest was the Wizard. So I looked at them compared to other classes. Yes I like the Wizards renamed Magic Missle, I always have, its a staple for a reason. But other spells, aside from actually either doing nothing or missing all the time (not sure which) or causing harm to everyone made me look at the druid. Now granted, they have a plethora of spells I'll never be able to use because 75% of spells in this game affect everyone (or so they say/aoe circles look like) but they have quite a few spells I like, that I can use, and they have some endurance heals. They also feel less squishy than a mage. Plus, in a pinch I can shapeshift (I've heard people say the shapeshifts are terrible too, but once I feel I'm good on spells it's always been a dps increase for me) At the moment, my Druid outperforms my Wizard in every way. And Lastly, Damage-- In my current playthrough, my party has; Rogue - 22000 damage done Fighter - 5000 damage done (tank) Barbarian - 8,500 damage done Druid - 8000 damage done Priest - 2,500 damage done Paladin hasn't been in long enough to formulate All other members have been in there since the very earliest I could get or create them. Just based on this, I feel rogues damage is either quite a bit high, or everyone else (except for the tank/s) are quite a bit low. While it is my personal opinion, I feel Wizards or pure magic using fold in general should be very near a rogue if not surpassing them. In general, I just feel that classes are too... random. I'm sure if I had chosen other talents and whatnot I'd get much different results but in general I feel dps classes, outside of spikes, should be fairly comparable damage wise, or at least damage/survivability wise.

I took the biting whip talent at level 2, when I check my character sheet in combat it shows: "Biting Whip Damage x2.4" In combat however I do not see anything added to the damage calculation. Is it hidden? Is it affected by the double click bug most of us are plagued with? If anyone knows I'd appreciate it! Cheers,

Hi all, reading all these topics and encountering gamebreaking bugs myself (I am stuck with an invisible companion) I am wondering if something went wrong with the final install package we received?! To be honest, I cannot see how the game got all these fantastic reviews with all these game breaking bugs. Also, as I am playing the German version, it is obvious there are A LOT of issues regarding translation, not only the general quality of the translation but also obvious data mapping errors (i.e. item names are filled with item attributes "stat +2"). I saw no German review mentioning these issues (not saying I read all of them ). What I really would like to see is some kind of reaction from Obsidian regarding all these major bugs... also: HOTFIX! Any opinions?
  23. - Graphics: Cage Cursor stops working after conversations. I'm using 2 monitors and GTX660. Need to disable and turn on again to get it working after every conversation/cutscene.
  24. I've reached the entrance to the crypt, and killed the guards, but whoever it is who is supposed to be carrying the key didn't spawn, so now I'm stuck. Is it possible to add it via console? Anyone have an item number? Also, BB Fighter has decided to go invisible on me, but I can't seem to be able to attach pictures to this post. Have a very nice day. -fgalkin
