  1. Really enjoyed the first Grounded. That said, this version you've got going here is great so far with the exception of the constant orc attacks early on in the game while I'm trying to level up. Right after I got my ant buggy Miss Snotty hacks my device and after that it seems like every two days a load of ORCS invades my camp or attacks me wherever I am. The invasion is VERY tough to fight as a new "whimpy" character, and I die way too much to make it enjoyable. When the game first came out, I made it as far as the Stranger and fought her. Her spider poisoned me through 90% of the battle and made it impossible to heal quicker than I was dying. I'm playing on Relaxed mode as I'm an explorer, not a great fighter. The blocking mechanic of the game has always been a real challenge for me, even in the first game. Therefore, I think the relaxed version of the game should be quite a bit easier than normal or nightmare. Also, I was attacked by a HUGE scorpion while I was at my first base and had to hide in the outpost until it left. I think being close to the starting base should be relatively safe and the further you venture out should get increasingly more difficult. Hoping you don't keep this content of constant Bullying by the Stranger and her ORCS in the game. Ticking off the groups of bugs in the first one and fending off an attack by normal bugs was annoying, but acceptable. Just keep in mind that some people still play games for the adventure and the fun, not the extremely difficult fighting and dying. Would appreciate some consideration on this issue. Thanks
  2. So I have many hundreds of hours from grounded 1 to 2 and am wondering why the two most useful things from grounded 1 are not in grounded 2 yet? I am referring to the wheel mutation build swapping and the handy gnat for building. Anyone have any info as to why the mutation swap became so terrible now when it was super useful before?
  3. The original IE games, such as Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, implemented a strictly health=live, no health=death mechanic. In these rpgs you are fighting monsters who crush and shred your flesh with tooth and claw, spellcasting wizards who with arcane energy can immolate or rip the life right out of you, duelling brigands and orcs with maces and iron swords. You suffer injuries of the flesh, represented by health. Perhaps the most exhilarating and horrifying aspect of the original games, was the character portrait that would fill up with crimson, from their neck up, as they their bodies were being torn apart by demons and werewolves, and then.... death. A black and white portrait, all colour drained from their normally lively faces. Why then, would we have Endurance? You are fighting to the death with monsters and other humans. You do not simply fall unconscious when crushed by the fist of an Iron Golem, you are not simply knocked out after a Beholder casts Finger of Death. You die. I believe that Pillars of Eternity would benefit from this mechanic, not just for realism, but for the feeling of despair and revenge after each of your party's portraits fill up (not down) with red, accompanied by their agonized sounds as they are dealt damage, ending with a black and white portrait. not to sound too morbid
