  1. I updated both Pathfinder on both devices last night, (Nvidia Shield Tablet and HTC1M8 respectively).

I was a day zero purchaser and my story party is on the shield, but despite the update, the story progression and character progression in not reflected on the HTC1M8.

I am logged in and connected with both devices, I event restarted and reinstalled pathfinder on the HTC1M8, but no luck.

Any idea what is going wrong? I'm loathe to start all over again, the game is great and the kids and I finally beat thistletop today (finally cornered Gogmurt the rascal and smited him after a dozen attempts and some abysmal rolls).

Is there any way to prompt the cloud save or force it?

I appreciate that the games created on the earlier versions were not cloud save-able, but patch notes say this should no longer be a problem?

An issue many people have yet you're crusading all over the place telling them to stop complaining and just load their save that doesn't exist.

    So far I've seen...

    0% "Iron Mode" users

100% "Waaaah, I have to use my pre-end savegame with which I was maxed out so the same stats, and the same gear... and nothing will change but I'm going to moan and whine anyway for god knows what reason I can't simply use the provided savegame waaaaaaah" users

    So... yeah... that's why.

Well Hassat, instead of insulting people, maybe you could either listen if you want to contribute constructively. A number of persons have said that they could not find or did not have a "pre-endgame save", myself among them.

Now that means some serious backtracking or restarting. That is a problem for me and others. Its inconvenient, its time consuming, its toil and its immersion breaking.

You might not think its a problem (great, I'm genuinely happy for you), but you are not content with that, you would rather belittle people or just tell them that they "moan and whine" when they have a genuine problem.

I paid good money for the game, the audio novella & the season pass,.... this does not make me feel "entitled" or give me a license to kick and scream, but its not too much to ask to be able to ask for a feature adjustment or express some disappointment on the official forums.

Maybe I will be facilitated if myself and others speak up, maybe not. But I'm not here to be called a moaner or whiner, in fact I'd say anybody else who has considered this an issue probably feels the same.

Rosbjerg puts his point (disagreeing with me) across excellently, without trying to demean anybody.

  4. Pillars was written from the point of view that the Hollowborn controversy hasn't been dealt with yet.  If you could go back to the main gameworld after defeating Thaos, people would immediately start complaining that there's no C&C in the game because their "win" isn't being properly recognized.  And while you might think the devs could work around this by just adding a hearty "congratulations!" to each NPC's current dialogue, it's pretty clear that NPCs are going to have *very* different opinions about whatever solution you picked to "solve" the Hollowborn issue.  The devs would need to think through how each NPC would react to that, as well as removing any quests whose in-game rationale would be negated by the Hollowborn issue having already been addressed, which would then lead to complaints by people potentially unable to get whatever XP/gold/items would have come from those quests.

Coding-wise, it would certainly be *possible* for the devs to let people come back to the main game after defeating Thaos, just as it would have been possible for BioWare to let people come back to the main game after defeating Sarevok.  But I can certainly see why both BioWare and Obsidian decided not to let this happen -- and am looking forward to being able to continue the main story in Pillars 2!

To be fair, the expansion could continue between defeating "you know who" and before the effects of activating "you know what" have actually taken hold,.... a sort of immediate continuation before the full effects of the game ending take effect. (if that makes sense).

Essentially we are going to have the exact same problem when the next expansion arrives,... namely, we are not allowed to finish the game.

Its a bewildering decision to implement the DLC this way,... but if Obsidian must do so, then surely allow us to at least export/ import our characters? A time honoured BG and IWD tradition!

As a continuation of this thread:

Isn't it possible to access the expansion after killing Thaos?

Do I really have to go "back" in time and load before relasing the souls after killing Thaos?

After I killed Thaos and released the souls with the expansion pack installed it just went to the main menu.

Can anyone help me with this question please :)

Nope. I tried that as well. The only option is to load your save from before jumping into the pit and go back from there. The game is kind enough to make a special save there for you. Once you're done with the expansion, you'll have to go back to the burial isle and jump in. I guess Obs will have to buff Thaos, but that's a different matter.

Honestly, what a complete pain in the "derriere"!! There is a save game just before activating the machine, why not just let me out of the damn hole to play the expansion before returning to switch on the damn machine then? It feels so counter-productive to battle through the final big epic fight (which was a tough one), only to have to load an earlier game and do it all again,....

So what about the next expansion? Is there any point in finishing the game?

I bought the season pass last night thinking I'd crank up the game tonight, only then to discover that I have to load an earlier game,.... after having to scour the internet to find this out.

It sounds so stupid and petulant, but I could not be bothered in going back over old ground to play the expansion. I'm not going to bother playing out of spite now.

Yeah I get what you are saying, seems counter productive.

Im playing at the hardest dificulty you can choose from and it took me quite a while to finish off thaos :)

But im still going to load and play the expansion, it looks awesome and need to get my pillar cravings furfilled :p

Its really just killed the game for me now,.... don't get me wrong, I re-played Baldurs gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment and Temple of Elemental Evil etc,... but only long after initially finishing them. I really wish I could just get my money back, but not possible sadly.

  6. I'm all the way at the end of the game, entered the pit, killed everything, etc, and one thing left to do is the final click to release the spoilers.

Is there any way to get out of here to attempt the white march expansion?  or just keep reloading old saved games until I find one close enough?  (which I always hate doing in games like this :/)

Im in the same situation as you. Also, there is no sign of the "pre-end save", so I am left with replaying hours and hours, treading the same ground over again any way I look at it. I had no idea that I was going to be unable to play the expansion just because I finished the game (a bit of a punishment there).

I am also so annoyed that I have spent a futher £18 (like an idiot I bought the season pass) or so on an expansion that I cant access without re-playing the game.

Wish Id saved my money. I am so peeved with Obsidian right now.

Why not just let out of the pit before doing the "you know what" after defeating "you know who" (spoilers) ending the game?

  8. Count yourselves lucky,... I have been using up annual leave for the end of the financial year and have been nearly two weeks off and am back to work this weekend,.... so while you folks will be playing away,... I will be slaving away full of envy. Just bad timing for me and how my time off worked out.

So I am not so worried, it has been gold for a number of days, so the game is solid, the keys and downloads will surely be sorted for the weekend. I have waited all this time,... I'll have to wait a few more days than the rest of you. Think about poor me when you are kicking some poor goblin's head in, down some dank god forsaken dungeon.

    Enjoy yourselves.
