On the official forums, they clarified they're longest play-through is 150 hours (doing everything possible in a single game), but that's by a person who already knew everything about the game before hand.
I had 100+ hour play-through of DA:O, but that was mostly because I pick-pocketed everyone... After that I installed a mod to fasten the cooldown of steal.

Re: Demo, they've pretty much said "no". The gameplay looks identical to DA2 though, aside from the new camera angles and new animations.
Re: friendly fire, DA2 had that only on the highest difficulty, it'll probably be the same here.

i'm assuming you need to have the games registered on Bioware's systems as well. DA:I most likely, but they haven't said anything about whether having DA:O or DA2 registered is required for anything.
In any case, to use the Keep, you'll need to create the "history file" (or whatever) with it, and then use the game (DA:I) to connect to the Keep servers. After you've started a game like this, you don't have to connect to the servers anymore.
So, you don't have to be online all the time, but you have to do it once when you start a game using a history made with the Keep.
-
You can't even import DA:O or DA2 saves to DA:I. You have to use the Keep.
(Though, they've said they might add it in the future.)

Cthulhu!
Also, Hawke spotted. I hope you can edit his/her appearance in the Keep, or there will be complaining.

Pathfinder is basically D&D 3.75.
If it's real, I'll buy it.- 3

Every thread about Bioware or their games on this board will eventually turn into a discussion about Volourn.
What a waste of time.

That said, this doesn't look very good. Either the game's a mess and they are taking all the time they can physically have to finish it into some semblance of shape... or November's less crowded this year than it's been in the last few and they're profiting of it to give their first game on the new engine and after two... controversial ones an extra layer of polish. Still, colour me worried.
My guess it has something to do with MP, nothing has been said about the MP, apart from 'it has it'.
Urgh. I'm not sure when they've last even talked about it, I'd actually forgotten that. Oh, well...
Previously, back when EA said all their games will have an online component, Bio said yes, ours will too... But they also counted stuff like DA:O's online profiles being that.
So I wouldn't make too many assumptions about it, until they actually say something detailed.

Damn, all these new characters. They're so... so... Bioware.

btw. I never understood why people complained about the camera in DA2, but then I realized I had only played the game with a 2h warrior. The limitations were a lot more obvious with a mage.
As whenever I play party-based cRPGs my first toon is almost always a mage, the lack of the zoom out camera was among the very first things I noticed.
After playing DA2 and then going back to DA:O, I started constantly zooming to the same camera angle that DA2 had. It just felt better. For all classes.
To each his own, I guess.

Finally hit Paragon 200 on hardcore. I have two characters that can do Torment I and 3 that aren't yet geared for it. Not planning to go past T1, rather just focus on doing rifts on T1 more efficiently.
Still haven't hit the cow level.

I play a Monk on HC, and have found One With Everything really great. There's a bunch of reasons why it's especially worth it in RoS:
- You can enchant items, so it's easier to stack up on a specific resistance
- Specific resistances are secondary stats, so you can save those primary stats on items for something else.
- While items can't have both All-resist and a specific resistance anymore, specific resistances can now go as high as an all-resist affix (previously they were limited to about half of it).
My Monk has 372k dps, 11mil toughness and 13k healing. I currently play at Master; I could probably survive on Torment I (or even II), but I prefer to play low-risk.

That does sound rather restrictive for a Diablo game ... where trading with other players is/was an aspect that many enjoyed a lot. Account-bound sounds like ... MMO.Is there a reason all legendaries are account bound now? I understand taking the auction house down, but being unable to trade or give legendaries to fellow players or friends in-game seems too restrictive.
Is it only Legendaries that get account bound?
Legs, everything you craft, and everything you enchant. Dunno about commodities (plans, gems, etc).
But, like I said, you can trade a leg for a couple of hours after you've found it with people you were playing with when you did.

Finally lvl 60 now with my hardcore monk! Phew!
Last time around, the scariest parts were in no particular order: Belial, the hard-hitting ogre by the bridge before Magda's hideout, the exploding fire maniacs in one of those storm halls, and those waves of poisonous self-detonating pixies in the keep in Act 3. That freeze-lock demon that once was the arch-angel's lieutenant was also a nervous thing to deal with, along with those hard-hitting quadrupeds in Act 4.

I recently found a new leg. belt and thought I'd pass my blackthorne belt to a friend of mine who had the trousers, but I could not. It was a little annoying.
They probably just don't want a 3rd party market.
You can trade legs for 4 hours (of actual play time) after you got them, but only to people who were in the game with you when they dropped.

The most important changes
- When you try to use your potions when they are on cooldown and you're dying, your character doesn't say "Why would I do that?" anymore, rather "I wish I could do that".
- Whimsyshire now has BLUE cuddly bears!!!!
Seriously, it's a bummer they moved adventure mode to RoS. Otherwise enjoying it.

BG1EE was -75% on steam pretty fast. And for long.

Expansion info datamined from game client. Very not-final.

Damn, the drop rates in the console version are really high. I just finished playing through normal, got about 20 legendaries, and two legendary plans. I wonder if these are the same rates they're planning to add to the PC version.
I've stumbled upon a plan for a legendary bow and a legendary shield. I've yet to use the plans though, so I don't know how the created items would compare to my current gear.
I got the plans for the Cain's Fate -set, which gives +30% exp for 3 items. Quite useful. I also got Leoric's Ring, so I level up pretty fast.
-
Has the Legendary drop rate truly improved significantly on the PC version since release? I know they say it has, but in action how noticeable is it? I had all kinds of toons (most up to at least lvl 40) way back then and I farmed/grinded with a 60 a fair bit and only had maybe 6-8 drop over 2-3 months and all those chrs.
It was doubled (for Inferno) at some point. And then there's the MF bonuses from MP-levels. It's not a huge difference, until you start having more paragon levels.

Gaider gets sarcastic and cynical because he spends too much time with fans. For his own health, he should quit reading internet forums, and start using marketing-speech.

What? You can't be serious?
My brain hurts
Why does your brain hurt?
It seems to have this crazy idea that some consistency in the main canon might have a positive effect for the franchise.
That or I have one of those brain eating amoebas.
I don't see how this would help much, if they're still going to write for various player choices.

To my understanding, they're just putting everything they can think of in there in case they want to use them in future games. It's not like everything will be referenced in DA:I.
